“It’s Almost Like A Mutiny”

September 13th, 2013

In this CBS Sports video, Will Brinson is joined by prickly Pete Prisco and Pat Kirwan to break down the Saints-Bucs game. Needless to say, embattled Bucs franchise quarterback Josh Freeman is a hot topic of discussion.

I read this article about the play calling for the last game. Offensive play calling made no sense. Don’t know if Joe cares if I post a link to Sander Philipse article, but man I see why Josh holds the ball. They run all go routes with the middle wide open which would be perfect for a TE.

I suggest reading it, breaks down the first 3 dives.

  2. Couch Fan Says:

Your right the play calling didn’t make any sense. It was awful… and it has to be because the coaches dont trust Freeman…. only other excuse is that they are just awful and I just can’t believe that theres a worse play caller out there than Olsen.

  3. ShutTheBucUp Says:

I think we take this game. I know the players say they don’t pay attention to the media, but we all know thats pretty much impossible these days. I think they’ll be pissed off and focused and come ready to play.

  4. Skelly Says:

pretty fair analysis there. pete has been talking about this free vs coach thing for months.

  5. pick6 Says:

kirwan seems to forget about the 2 pro bowlers we’ve added to our secondary since the last time brees shredded us. it doesn’t negate them completely, but i like revis v colston and goldson v jimmy graham a whole lot better than i liked the depth and matchups last year. and i really hope they take the ball out of brees’ hands and attempt a more balanced attack. would prefer defending the run vs defending brees

  6. Couch Fan Says:

Saints D played pretty well last week against a good offense in Atl… Could be a very long day for us BucFans if we dont right our problems quick, fast, and in a hurry.

  7. Sneedy16 Says:

    @Couch Fan

You are right. At least Olsen would be predictable to a fault, but the plays look like they were out there playing flag football. They had 9 in the box and didn’t need to take them out since Doug only ran dump off routes and would get tackle for 2 yard gain. Slants and curls were not in the playbook for RB’s.

  8. joseph mamma Says:

I like Pete’s prediction. Don’t know if I believe it but I hope it happens. I also like his Tom Coughlin comparison to Schiano. Schiano has to rally the troops and bring the team together or the season will fall apart.

  9. Miguel El Magnifico Says:

Everyone likes to compare Schiano to Coughlin because they’re both pig headed. Greg is also stupid.

    Freeman is a coach killer.

Toes on the line, yesterday, became no disclipline and everythings out of control. The Little General admitted that he couldn’t motivate players even to show up on time.

I thought the knock on LGB was that he was undisciplined. Turns out One Buc Place is really Animal House with players eating all kinds of crazy macaroni and stuff.

  10. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

I think it could go either way, but is in favor of the Saints.

The only reason I say that is objectively, it depends on how quickly the issues are fixed with the Bucs.

I believe they will fix the issues…I just don’t know how quickly. It might end up being slow improvement from now to the 4th game.

  11. bucfanjeff Says:

BECAUSE everyone knows we don’t use the TE, it helps them game plan against us. I’m not suggesting it be a focal point, but if you show you’re not afraid to use it and that it can be effective, it WOULD help.

Remember the cowboys game last year? It was the WORST play calling of the whole season…against Rob Ryan’s defense.

Well, Rob Ryans defense is coming to town this week.

  12. Tackleblockwin Says:

I agree…donuts fix everything. Quick, someone place a order with Krispy Creme…lol.

  13. McBuc Says:

OK, I see the Bucs pulling this one off. Freeman play good, but still not good enough for StevK and Couch. Martin has a great day. Most imprtant, the defense brings the wood and satopd the Saints offense. Bucs 24 – Saints 17.

  14. crazy Says:

The offense played “don’t let Freeman throw an interception.” Together with no one who can catch a pass over the middle and you end up right where they were on Sunday – forced into low-percentage passes and line-bashing run attempts. Only on the field success is going to overcome this. Maybe this will be the week…

  15. McBuc Says:

That’sjust crazy talk! Just kidding, I could not resist. I hope this is the week too Crazy.

  16. Gus Says:

I would actually put Revis on Graham. I would take my chances with Coltson and Moore. If Revis can take Graham out the game it frees up other players for double teams. I would move Revis between both Graham and Goldson all game and keep them guessing.

  17. bucsdeluge Says:

I tell you what. Pat kirwin never says anything good about the Bucs. I can care less for his opinion. He always goes for the darlings of the league. I hope we bury Brees and the saints and stick it to Kirwin. Of course if that happens it won’t be how good we were, but excuses for the Saints and how they beat themselves.

    “GO BUCS”!!!!!!!!!!

  18. buc4lyfe Says:

Except for QB of course we have more talent across the board and we SHOULD WIN but it comes down to coaching and scheme and if we lose i think its because once again we got outcoached. holding freeman back is hurting the offense, its boring and predictable i dont see sean payton being outcoach or mike sullivan out smarting rob ryan, if they do i’d give them credit because freeman was good enough to win 7 games last year so you cant tell me in year two you dont know what free does best, he’s not the only inaccurate starting qb….

it’s really strange how freeman gets better in the end of games which is win he has to play on instinct….this coach just doesnt learn and no one has said anything about why LJ starts over banks and i think castillas makes more plays then dekota watson
