Concern For Freeman’s Welfare

September 12th, 2013

Former Bucs quarterback Shaun King, now a popular analyst for NBC Sports, has long been a Josh Freeman supporter. King called for Freeman to get a new contract. He pleaded for Freeman to see a sports psychologist. He’s repeatedly told fans that Freeman is firmly in the tier of quarterbacks under the current elite QBs.

Today, King predicted there’s no chance Freeman returns in 2014, and King sounded more concerned about Freeman’s personal welfare than anything else.

King, speaking on the Ron and Ian show today on WDAE-AM 620, was asked whether he’d be surprised to learn there are significant off-the-field issues going on with Freeman. King said he wouldn’t be surprised but would not reveal specifics about what he’s been told about Freeman’s off-the-field life.

King, who lives in the Tampa Bay area, did say of things he’s heard about Freeman, “I hoping that they’re not true. … I don’t get involved in people’s personal lives. There are so many things that I know that happen over at One Buc that I don’t talk about because I don’t feel that’s my place. So I apply that as it pertains to Josh Freeman also.”

Co-host Ian Beckles, a former Bucs guard, also referenced numerous things he’s heard about Freeman in his neighborhood — he and Freeman live in South Tampa — and Beckles said he hopes they’re not true, either.

Also, King dove deep into the Bucs’ non-Freeman troubles on the field against the Jets, as well as how players don’t trust Greg Schiano. (You can hear the full audio below.)

  1. Mohak T Says:

So Boomer Esiason may not have been off after all when he said last year Freeman needs to stop partying etc

  2. bucrightoff Says:

Josh Leaf? JaMarcus Freeman? Ugh, it sucks badly when your 4 days into the season and you’re already looking forward to next year.

  3. Biff Barker Says:

The tune is changing now! Shaun was calling Dom out for not extending J5 recently yet now divulges he was aware that Freeman has issues?
    Great job Shaun!

  4. JS Says:

Wait is that really Shaun King? I mean, I know he’s gained some weight, but WOW! Mix in a salad bro.

  5. Mark Sanchez's Hairband Says:

    Whats the rumors?

    Anyone?

  6. Ricardo Esteban Says:

why should I be concerned about a bum millionaire who is going all Brittney spears?

damn I hate being right all the time!

  7. Adam L. Says:

Oh lord. Who said this was a calm hurricane season? A $hit$torm is brewing in Tampa.

  8. Jwayne Says:

We are in for a long season! Can we atleast bring Tebow in at this point to sell tickets so we dont have to watch our team suck on illegal internet sites.

  9. Cmurda Says:

So, what is it. Freeman sounds like he is a hot mess right now. If true, than why would Shaun King utter the disappointment by Dom not to extend Freeman? This is all so confusing and quite honestly Im not sure I care. I care about beating the Aints Sunday. If that doesnt happen, I could see some of these issues being magnified.

  10. Barry Says:

    GAY

  11. tampa2 Says:

I live in South Tampa. Roughly 2 min from all the douche spots. Until I settled..well..I was one of those douches I guess. I know when I went out and drank constantly, I saw him out A LOT. During season atleast 5 times. Look, I personally don’t care if a dude goes out and drinks and tries to find some hot s tpa ass. Whatever. But it may very well be a testament to his dedication. Of course there may be an even larger underlying issue here like drugs. Coke etc. Speculation of course but by the tone of Ian and Shaun, it is obviously a lot more than just going out a lot. And no matter what a lot of you people say, you better believe Shaun King and Ian are a LOT more privy to some shi then what you guys are that is for damn sure. Rahael – I eagerly await some more of your blind loyalty.

  12. evo Says:

@Biff Barker Come on now. You get upset when he bashes the team or the GM. And now he’s not bashing anyone. The man seems genuinely concerned for free’s welfare as a man. And you still aren’t happy with what he says. I’m really starting to think some of us bucs fans only are happy hating than opening our eyes to real problems. And that’s sad.

For once King isn’t attacking the bucs. But no matter what he says some of you will hate him. I think you all forget he’s a regular bucs fan like all of us. He just has a bigger platform to say it on.

  13. Sharon Says:

    Barry that’s obvious

  14. nick Says:

I heard he is a drunk ass holEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  15. Bucs34 Says:

Does anyone know if and when Freeman will speak about this! If he wants to try to rectify this that would be a good start. I think we all deserve a explanation because their are things floating around that are really hard to digest! The waters are a little choppy are they not? GO BUCS….

  16. tampa2 Says:

STFU about Tebow. I knew there would be some Mouth breathing Gator fan championing his signing. Yeah, thats JUST what the Bucs need is some sideshow on top of a shitshow. Sure

  17. Hawaiian Buc Says:

This is beyond a distraction. This sucks beyond words.

  18. Sharon Says:

    Cut him now!!

  19. deminion Says:

what the heck is josh doing? this is eerie

  20. Sharon Says:

This sux big time for the jock swingers including the local media people who have been by his side….. But some of us saw this long ago. Today is the beginning of the bucs winning again!!! Go bucs!

  21. Back up kicker Says:

Gay, and he enjoys the white lady

  22. deminion Says:

man im really wanting to know whats happening

  23. lightningbuc Says:

This has been common knowledge in the South Tampa community for some time, but when people brought it up they were labeled as a “hater” or as not a “real fan” or has having an agenda or as making stuff up.

I look forward to West Coast Bucs Fan’s take on this!

  24. jjuice Says:

    Pain

  25. Buc1987 Says:

    My ulcer is acting up.

  26. bucrightoff Says:

Von Miller is (allegedly) rocking the molly and Josh Freeman (allegedly) likes to ski. So why did the NFL force ESPN to cancel Playmakers? Apparently it was pretty tame compared to the real deal.

  27. jjuice Says:

    Killers!!!!!!!!

  28. tampa2 Says:

Sharon – it is more of a sign of uh.. re-rebuilding for the next couple of yrs. My 2 cent advice for Bucs fans is to enjoy football. Watching the Packers-Niners game was a sight for sore eyes. What a great game between 2 wonder quarterbacks. Seattle/SanFran will be great this week. The Manning Game. As a Bucs fan, i’m going to either not have any expectation or just except what’s coming to us. It’s a plus when our home team is good. But I am a FOOTBALL fan first.

  29. Sharon Says:

Am I the only one pissed at free?

  30. Sharon Says:

Tampa2- orlovsky or glennon. Both will do better than free. Everyone was hung up on pretty boy and his potential rather than what’s between the ears and in the heart

  31. tampa2 Says:

Sharon – What in the living hell, makes you think that? Who isn’t dude..

  32. Adam L. Says:

Barry said it. It is my opinion that he might be gay…..not that there’s anything wrong with that.

  33. andres Says:

Tampa2 nailed it and we should be pissed at Free but more at DOM and the Glazers for letting a known issue for YEARS fester and they didn’t do enough to help Free and the team.

  34. Sneedy16 Says:

I really think this team is cursed. Living in Houston for almost 2 years now, the only drama I hear about the team is on the football field.

  35. bucfanjeff Says:

I know ‘gay’ was mentioned as a joke above, I think, but it’s honestly been in the back of my mind for a couple years. That said, I don’t care what your sexual preference is, whether it relates here or not, I just want to win.

Where there is smoke, there is fire, and there is an awful lot of smoke right now. I’m a Freeman supporter, but if your life isn’t straight, your game won’t be.

All THAT said, he is our best chance at QB. Glennon can be but needs experience…a lot more experience.

  36. Buc1987 Says:

Associated Press July 30, 2013, 5:43 PM ET

Sullivan said the extra work is paying off, noting Freeman has “improved command of the offense.”
“He was able to look at himself and see things he did well and the things he needs to improve on,” the offensive coordinator said.

Teammates notice a difference in the huddle, too.

“He’s way more comfortable. You can see that already, his confidence on the field. It’s fun to watch because he gets to let his physical tools take shape,” Jackson said.

“He’s a hungry guy. He wants to get better. He’s wants to be one of the best,” added Jackson, who had 72 catches for 1,384 yards and eight TDs in his first season with the Bucs. “He puts in the time in the meeting room, in the weight room, does all the things he needs to do. … You can see the kid wants to be great. Other guys feed off that energy.”

My my how things have changed!

  37. Couch Fan Says:

What exactly makes you think Free may be gay? Not that I think your wrong or anything but I have never heard anything remotely close to that.

  38. bucfanjeff Says:

Of course if he’s completely rattled with life circumstances…then Glennon would be our best chance – but it’s not a good one at all.

  39. Oil Derrick Brooks Says:

Sit him down. If he needs rehab, then place him. But, don’t play a guy who is not 100% committed to the team.

If playing Glennon means tanking the season, then so be it. A guy with a possible substance abuse problem is not taking this team into the playoffs anyway. It would be an absolute insult to the players WHO ARE committed.

    Team first. Next man up.

  40. Sneedy16 Says:

If it’s a rumor and heard more than once then it’s most likely true. I was optimistic for this season and in less than 2 games into the season things are hitting the fan. Might as well enjoy my fantasy league.

  41. D-Rome Says:

So Boomer Esiason may not have been off after all when he said last year Freeman needs to stop partying etc

I have a friend who works on TPD and he can confirm this. Club Asia was (or is) one of his spots…

  42. ShutTheBucUp Says:

I’m sure its not as bad as the media makes it out to be. Everything has to be “sensational” or “scandalous” these days. He probably goes out drinking with his buds and has multiple women crashing at his house, like any normal single 20-something with millions of dollars in the bank. As long as he can lead the team when it matters, who cares?

  43. BirdDoggers Says:

I’m wondering, if Freeman has off field issues known by people not within the organization, how does the organization not know about it themselves? Even if they’re rumors, you would think the team would look into the issues and offer assistance. It would make sense at this point if Freeman had problems. It would explain his apparent dissengagement from the team.

  44. tampa2 Says:

If both will do better than number 5 than they’d be playing. They aren’t the answer either. Like Joe says, Free is the best we have for better or worse. Glennon isn’t a Russell Wilson caliber player. Personally I think the guy that can be that kind of player is Bridgewater. But i’ll be damned if im going to start thinking about the draft 1 game in to a new season. I dunno. We’re stuck. If we get blown out by the Saints or something, this is going to get even more ugly real fast.

  45. Buc1987 Says:

Does anyone remember when he said he had other things to worry about besides his contract? I do but I can’t find the quote on the net. I always wondered what those other things were.

  46. lightningbuc Says:

“multiple women crashing at his house”

    UH, no!

  47. Ricardo Esteban Says:

I still don’t get why people say the season is over because free is done.

if orlovsky or glennon come in and can call an audible, recognize a blitze and go through their progression we are three steps ahead of what free brings…long balls

+ they might be able to throw in the middle of the field!

I say this team just got better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  48. BucsfaninChina Says:

Yo, we dont even know what the exact situation is hrre. If Freeman has commitment issues thats one thing… but to spread around rumors that he is a coke head or is gay is in horrible, horrible taste. Today could be the beginning of a long season, but all of you throwing out these serious unfounded rumors are looking pretty bad right now.

  49. tj1eight7 Says:

So now he is gay and does coke…this has been quite the day for Freeman rumors. Not saying it’s not true because I don’t know anything about it…but quite the day indeed

  50. Tee Says:

I have one question for everyone… Josh Freeman or Phillip Rivers?

  51. RBellBuc Says:

^^^^That’s your fan base for you^^^^

  52. lightningbuc Says:

With you in China, you know they are unfounded how?

  53. andres Says:

@Tampa2 – this week they will tank so the cleaning can begin. Free will be benched and if the Bucs don’t respond Sullivan is our HC after the bye, with Dom getting axed at the end of the season.

  54. IamTheOne Says:

I have felt some time watching his interviews he just looked depressed.

I hope whatever is haunting Josh does not wind up killing him.

I cant help but think Schiano’s lack of support of him, and everyone else saying he sux after giving the most offense ever in Bucs history makes him just not give a damn.

Mid way through the season last year he was on a pro bowl year.

Frickin’ just dump him, dump schiano, we will just jump ship every time someone hits a bad streak. We can be the new old Dolphins.

  55. Sneedy16 Says:

I’ll wait until after the Saints game to look into next season. We as fans do not know what’s going on over there, and are listening to speculations from the media. I hope that what’s being said isn’t true, but if it is true. I like Josh, but I’m a team first fan. Win against the Saints and all this chatter will disappear.

  56. RBellBuc Says:

^^^ can I borrow your crystal ball you effin lunatic?

  57. RBellBuc Says:

    that was for andres

  58. Steve from Oregon Says:

If Josh was truly involved in illegal activities (drugs) wouldn’t that show up on a test?

This just sounds fishy to me?

  59. lightningbuc Says:

For those thinking Schiano could be fired mid-season – The Glazers just got done paying Gruden. Schiano has a 4 or 5 year deal i believe. He will be here a while.

  60. Ricardo Esteban Says:

let me break it down for yall. free had good stats last year. Schiano drafts a QB. free is pissed. free has 10 million reasons not to show it….

shows up for work, plays the part, but does not give a DAMN about being on this team other than getting paid.

anyone with a non compete who has stayed at a company for that reason for a certain amount of time has done this. it sux, but it is what it is.

but to do it when the whole community is banking on you and you could have asked for a trade is a punk. cut him now!

  61. BucsfaninChina Says:

What has been confirmed? Tell me that.

Not to go into English class here – but a fact being founded means you have evidence. Something none of you have. Josh is an easy target but i dont see how spreading rumors of this stuff is helping anyone

  62. Sneedy16 Says:

    @Steve from Oregon

Especially the white stuff. It’s not like pot where you can use a cleaner that stuff stays in your system for 6 months.

  63. BirdDoggers Says:

The rumored off field issues might be something fairly new. During the lockout, it was reported that Freeman took it upon himself to organize practices with his teammates. That doesn’t sound like a lack of leadership or desire to me. It’s plausable, but purely speculative that he developed a drug problem. Going out to clubs and having parties at home wouldn’t suggest he had a big problem for people close to him to be too concerned about. However, a drug problem or alcohol dependency would worry people as the article suggests.

  64. Braheem Says:

    Lol…….Well, well
It didn’t take long for THE WHEELS to fall off. Hmmm Josh Freeman now under the microscope? Why? The Team has not shown confidence in Freeman since Schiano was hired. They were wrong about implementing “The Flacco Doctrine” with Josh. He is 25 and a multimillionaire who has lived the Dream of being a Starting QB in the NFL for 4 years.

RELEASE HIM! Watch how fast Leslie Frasier & The Vikings snatches him up!

The loser in this MESS is the Buccaneer Fan who is left with a Dysfunctional Football Team to cheer on. SCHIANO AND DOMINICK ARE NEXT OUT THE DOOR.

BRING BACK THE WEEKLY CREAMSICLE LOOK! Lean Years are BACK!!!

  65. tj1eight7 Says:

He does look depressed though…if I had to put a word on it he looks broken. Who knows if that could be from something serious or it could just as easily be from having to hear his name dragged through the mud all offseason.

Going out too much is one thing but I don’t think anyone should be saying he is gay or does drugs unless they have seen it firsthand and know it to be true.

  66. ShutTheBucUp Says:

I agree with BirdDoggers. Cmon, can you really buy into these “rumors”? Maybe he keeps to himself off the field. People can only speculate, spread rumors, then the rumors will get more and more blown out of proportion. Whens the last time he’s been arrested? Whens the last time you heard of him fighting with coaching staff or his teammates? From what everyone says (other than unnamed “sources”), Josh is a team first guy and wants to win. I can’t wait until this TMZ crap gets washed away.

  67. lightningbuc Says:

    ChinaBuc,

So if one has seen something with their own two eyes, is it still unfounded and unconfirmed? While JFro may not be out and about over in Shanghai, he is not a hermit by any means here in Tampa.

  68. andres Says:

If you’ve seen it with your own 2 eyes say, arrrrrg…

  69. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Schiano’s press conference is about to start. I’m actually surprised the Bucs are going to air it live, as I would think they would want to edit it. Regardless, I expect Schiano to get a tough line of questioning, but at the same time I can see him just shooting them down and only talking about the game. That’s nice, and normally the correct way to do things, but not in this case. These issues have to be addressed one way or the other, and NOW. I don’t even care how, but this situation needs to get resolved immediately. Bench Freeman, cut Freeman, suspend Freeman, fire Schiano, whatever. Just do something because it can’t continue long like this. Who would have thought Revis would have inadvertently brought the circus with him from the Jets???

  70. BucsfaninChina Says:

Enlighten us, then. Tell us where you saw him kissing dudes and doing lines off the bar.

^^^^^Dude says this without the words I think or in my opinion this is how it will go. As if he knows. I’m staying away from these threads for the rest of the day. I can’t stand the ignorance any longer. Have fun!

  72. lightningbuc Says:

    Bucfaninchina,

Did you not see Andres comment before?

Taken down by Joe because Joe can’t confirm it. Joe won’t allow it.

Went through all this nonsense about 4-6 months ago. Was called a hater. Accused of making things up. You don’t have to believe any of it. It’s up to you.

  73. andres Says:

Well ok, that’s in my opinion but that’s how it should go… you guys are expecting mustard on your shat sandwich. Season is done and you’d be crazy to expect any different from Shiano, Dom or Freeman, it’s crazy.

  74. Buc1987 Says:

andres …I will do you a favor though. I’ll save that statement in a file for ya. Carnac the Ignoramus! See ya later alligators.

  75. RBellBuc Says:

    and you’re a Saints fan^^^^^^

  76. Couch Fan Says:

Yup thats exactly what he did Hawaiian. Lol, he did say Josh over slept the morning of the photo shoot. Everything was your typical cryptic answer.

  77. andres Says:

I was the biggest Josh homer and I still really really like the guy but after what I saw, I didn’t renew my season tickets. When the Bucs didn’t extend him I knew exactly why. I was like everyone else 2 years ago when Boomer came out with it pretty much, I said just a rumor but now I know there’s a “problem.” It can’t be dealt with until Josh deals with it, I hope to God he does for his own sake. Apparently Lightningbuc has seen it too…

  78. Hawaiian Buc Says:

After watching the press conference, I don’t come away from it feeling any better than how I felt before. Schiano confirmed Josh overslept, as well has missed and/or been late to team functions before. While many will still somehow blame the coaches, fans, media, OL, etc., that’s ridiculous. I’ve been saying for 10 months now that I witnessed him late to practice with my own 2 eyes, so I never once bought into this crap about him being the first one in the building, and completely dedicated to the team. I don’t give 2 sh!ts how big of an arse the coach is, he’s a professional QB and that’s not the way you operate. You are held to a different standard than the rest of the team. If anyone fails to accept or understand that, I suggest you follow another sport, like golf.

  79. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Someone needs to step in and take control of this situation. Hopefully it’s already been done. Maybe Dominik needs to get these 2 guys in a room and figure things out. Maybe the captains need to pull Freeman aside and beat the crap out of him. Maybe even the Glazers have to step in and start throwing sh!t. Whatever it is, this can’t be ignored. This problem is too big, and will not get swept under the rug with a victory on Sunday (which almost seems out of the question with this amount of distraction). I know many think it will, but they are mistaken. This problem has obviously been an issue for a while now, and if the winning in the past hasn’t fixed it, what makes you think that winning one game on Sunday will?

  80. Buc Fan #238 Says:

“I’m concerned for Shaun King’s welfare. Just look at that tub of lard! He wasn’t like that as a Buc QB yesteryear.

Someone needs to save King before he eats himself to death.”

-Josh Freeman in full Amanda Bynes

  81. Splengo Says:

I just heard Schiano’s press conference and all week I’ve been trying to convince myself why I didn’t like this guy. But when he talks about staying focused and not getting distracted – not letting the media get him off his mark, it’s hard not to like this guy. Regardless of my personal feelings, I do think he is the best guy for this team right now. I’m going to ride it out with him.

  82. Buc Fan #238 Says:

    amanda bynes mode…. 🙂

  83. Steve Says:

Joe, This is the firts time you didn’t introduce King as (one of 3 quarterbacks to lead the bucs to a NFC champianship game) Thank you.

  84. ladyz Says:

I’m Pissed also! When the QB misses the team photo, That’s Major Sh!t . Something is grossly wrong going on for his teammates not to vote him captain again. (OH I know Coach changed the vote) Wonder how Mad Dog will try to spin this news today?

If they are not going to play Glennon then it is time for Dom to go out and bring in another QB. Let’s not throw this season away. If the players have lost faith and trust or just hate Shiano’s ass then fire him already and put someone else at the helm.

Raphael, wipe your nose, take a deep breath and admit there is something not right that is soon to finally come out.

  85. Oil Derrick Brooks Says:

6 months??? Coke stays in your system only a few days. Weeds stays there the longest(up to a month)

  86. Christopher Says:

I love how Free is late to his own press conference, on today of all days…

  87. gt40bear Says:

Ok, let me get this straight. months ago, everyone in the local press was trying to get all of us to believe that Josh was the hardest worker at One Buc, now within the last 48 hours, he is an aloof, undedicated slug???? Which is it people? I know sports journalists are no better than regular ones but DAMN IT, DO YOUR JOBS! Since it is now being put out there that many people know or think they know all this “new” stuff about JF, why are we just now finding out? Is this sensationalism to stir crap up because the Bucs looked horrible Sunday or is there really something to these issues? Again, all I ask of the press is to do your damned jobs without any agenda!

  88. Chris Says:

I just scanned through here but some of you are ridiculous.

He’s not gay. The rumors that we’ve all heard in South Tampa for the past few years have been about the white lady.

  89. Raphael Says:

    Good grief

  90. Oil Derrick Brooks Says:

    So are we “haters” still????

  91. Nasser Says:

Did Shaun King play defensive tackle or right guard? I don’t remember. I mean we could use him now to eat up space in the middle holy cow. And anyways pro football talk on NBC is literally the worst sports show on TV

  92. The_Buc_Realist Says:

If someone ask you ” if it snows in Tampa” say no and walk away.

  93. Oil Derrick Brooks Says:

    @Louis Ding ding ding ding!!!

  94. Louis Cypher Says:

How in the world can the organization not know about it and intervene? Oh wait,…… it is the Bucs.

  95. buc4lyfe Says:

    Sharon

are you listening to what your saying….orvlosky is a career back up qb that lost his back up job to a rookie that EVERYONE says is not ready to start. there is no qb on this roster better than freeman and schiano knows it…this organization had 4 years to trade freeman, Talib was a first round pick and we got something for him. Why would you just let freeman walk away without trying to get anything from him. I guarantee you that if we were trying to trade freeman he would be gone and raiders would have given carson palmer and the house to get freeman

  96. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @buc4lyfe,

You are wrong about that. Freeman isn’t really tradable because of his salary. It’s easy to forget that there is money involved in all this as a fan, but there is. Even if there is magically no money involved, there is still going to be the issue that he can’t come in mid-season and learn the offense. Third, I can guarantee you the Bucs phone lines were open to a trade all offseason, if not before. Nobody wants Freeman, at least not as of right now. You don’t think word gets around the NFL about a player’s dedication? You don’t think the other coaches and GM’s know how to evaluate film? Of course they do. Comparing Freeman to Talib is apples to oranges. Different situation both on the field, off the field, and financially.

  97. buc4lyfe Says:

wow the age of gestimations and theories from people that watch from the couch and pretend that their breaking down game tape. unbelievable you are talking the dude taking drugs….hello eric wright, talib, tanard jackson was suspended 3 times. what kind of stupid fans can only talk about freeman as bad as the TEAM played, even if tom brady was our quarterback everyone is missing the point which is the bottom line. schiano hasnt outcoached one single team since he came into the league, even the raiders were on the comeback. this guy has lost us more games than his decision making has won us. only tampa fans get pissed at the qb when the line cant block.

a whole offseason still down a servicable tight end and i saw ogletree one time in the game because the dude has bricks for hands

  98. Hawaiian Buc Says:

The Raiders got a first round pick for Carson Palmer, and you think the Raiders would rather get Freeman, and still give up more!? You have lost your mind. A CFL team wouldn’t give up a first rounder for Josh Freeman. Wake up people!!!

umm thank you very much charlie casserly for that intelligent comment

BUT it doesnt mean it makes any sense. he cant be traded because of a contract that he’s in the last year of, whoever he is traded to would have to redo his contract…talib its not the same on and off the field because they both were first round picks and talib was in the last year of his contract also, your talking as if freeman is making 10million. we all know mark dominick front loads his contracts. these guys arent idiots who couldnt come into this offense and learn it….helloooo it happens all the time which is why jets signed a backup brady quinn but whatever. its real confusing to me how the buc stops with the head coach everywhere except tampa.

  100. buc4lyfe Says:

whatever maybe your blind but we’ll see when the offseason comes. your eyes are to slanted to see whats going on in the games or something you think jacksonville is garbage because of their qb….no its just one piece of the puzzle everything that happens falls on the coach, raheem morris went 10-6 with almost no talent no run defense, gerald mccoy getting hurt his first two season but hey this coach has all this talent and i dont remember the last time we got beat the way we’ve lost some games, we actually went scoreless after the worst defense in history last year, this is the third rookie qb thats beat us in the last seconds of a game. when freeman went to the bench we were in the lead, he went to the bench so soon because this idiot coach decided to run 3 times and punt instead of trying to get another first down then running out the clock. the qb depends on the entire team to do their job

  101. CanadaBuc Says:

Maybe the white lady will help speed up his decision making on the field, get rid of the ball bro!

  102. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Actually Freeman makes 8.43 Million this year, so you are completely wrong. At least get your information correct. And no, teams don’t have to redo his contract. They may try to so they can have him long term, but neither the team nor the player is obligated to do so. Freeman can simply say “no thanks” to the new contract, and he would if if was less than 8.43 Million. And because I know you don’t this, he is guaranteed that salary this year because he played in the first game.

As for anyone can come in and learn the offense, really? Freeman himself has admitted he’s still learning Sullivan’s offense. And you have the audacity to bring up the Jets signing Brady Quinn? You know, the guy they cut before the game against us. You think he’s going to be a starter in NY? You’re an idiot my friend. Not for not knowing the facts, but for trying to pretend as if know what the hell is going on and continuing to argue without even giving correct facts.

  103. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Jacksonville doesn’t have 8 Pro bowlers under the age of 30 to my knowledge. They don’t have a V-Jax or Mike Williams type WR. They don’t have the best corner in the game. They don’t have 2 stud safeties. They don’t have one of the best DT’s in the game. They don’t have squat compared to us. What a joke.

  104. Hawaiian Buc Says:

These filters on this site are driving me crazy. I put together a post, and it doesn’t go through until like 30 minutes later!!! Super irritating.

Anyway, as I wrote in my post that will appear one day, Freeman make $8.43 Million this year, and it is guaranteed. But I thought Dominik ALWAYS front loads his contracts????

  105. Buc1987 Says:

Joe how come that picture of King keeps getting bigger and bigger? I’m not talking about King himself which that is obvious, it just seems like you blew the picture up to make it bigger. It seemed to me that used to be much smaller. Now it’s Kablam!!!

  106. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Who is giving Schiano a pass? I sure as hell haven’t been. Difference is, Schiano has been here for 17 games and Freeman is on his 5th year. We just fired Raheem less than 2 years ago!! Should we just fire every coach until Freeman becomes Tom Brady? At what point is he held accountable?

  107. Architek Says:

Man this sh&@ is turning into a soap opera! My biggest concern is Tampa will get the label as career ending destination and no one will come here to play. That’s exactly what will happen if we let this idiot of a quarterback and coaching staff do to us.

    Dominik step up and lead!

  108. IHateYouPeople Says:

After one game??? You all sound worse than Giants fans.

And don’t comment back like an idiot “It’s been five years”. This team — coaches, players, playbooks, etc — have only had one season, and it was riddled with injuries.

You people don’t even bandwagon-jump teams, just ideas (that aren’t even your own).

  109. Ed Says:

Freeman has to play better for himself. He knows that the difference between being a starter and a backup for his next contract is over $70,000,000!

He needs to just go out there and play his ass off. If he has depression there are meds that will help. My concern is that he doesn’t have a passion for the game. You have to love being out on the field on Sunday. I want to see him play loose, run when there is opportunity, get the ball downfield.

He played so uptight in the Jets game. He’s at home now, lets see him move on and play the next game like a pro. It’s up to Shiano and the staff to feed him plays that he can be successful with. We have all seen how funky he gets when things aren’t going his way. More no huddle and uptempo plays are a recipe to rebuild his confidence.

  110. IamTheOne Says:

He is a soccer kid at heart. I have personally heard him say that.

FootBall is an ends to a means for him. He does like to play though.

I think too much negativity has crept in to his head. I am glad to see MW ant the others have his back. We should too. We got no where else to go. I will still take a qb that got us more offense than ever in the history of the franchise over our current options. There is no gain for a fan of the bucs to try and dog him out. How is that going to make it better? How?
