Belichick Scores Bucs Intelligence

September 12th, 2013

“I’ll see you in 10 days, Greg. We’ll be ready.”

Bucs icon Ronde Barber recently said many teams across the NFL will sign released players of teams they’re going to face in a couple of weeks in order to gather valuable “intelligence” on an opponent.

Barber was speaking on Jay Mohr Sports, heard locally on WDAE-AM 620, andhe told tales of how the Bucs did that at times to gain an edge.

Well, it seems the Patriots, who after facing the Jets tonight will have a whopping 10 days to prepare for the Buccaneers, have just snatched up their own fresh knowledge of the New Schiano Order.

Rookie defensive tackle Chris Jones made the Bucs’ 53-man opening roster but was cut this week to make room from fullback Spencer Larsen. He’s now a proud member of the Patriots.

What sort of edge can Jones give Bill Belicheat and Tom Brady? Joe doesn’t know. But Joe’s confident Greg Schiano is squirming just a tiny bit wondering what Jones might reveal.

seems a bit unsportsmanlike to stoop that low, but I guess whatever it takes to gain an advantage.

  2. K_bassuka Says:

And for stupidity like this it’s why Bellicheat support Singano. Why did he released a member of the defense instead of getting rid of useless Rutgers players “Wright”, another smart move by a glorified college coach at best…

Load the box and stop Martin, Blitz Freeman, Shutdown the Slant route, exploit Foster and LJ coverage weakness and don’t worry about DL, they’re busy stunting/shuffling east-west at the LOS.

    That’s pretty much it.

  4. Theodore Says:

I don’t think the Patriots signing of Chris Jones has anything to do with gathering inside information.

    Anyone can hold a camera.

  5. The_Buc_Realist Says:

more than likely to scout for Glennon.

  6. Mohak T Says:

Like the ol’ saying goes u still gotta line up n beat ur man. As long as the bucs do that. “Intelligence” from a bubble player is irrelevant.

  7. ShutTheBucUp Says:

Thats life in the NFL. Most guys that you cut end up catching on somewhere else, usually against a team you’ll be facing during the season.

  8. vdubguy Says:

I’m real sure bb doesn’t need any inside info to embarrass us again. He will probably turn a player we cut into a contributor on a playoff run.

  9. Morgan Says:

We did the same thing by signing TE Mike Shanahan NYJs for a day then releasing him…….didn’t seem to help us much, did it?

  10. Tampamac Says:

This guy Jones was on the roster for what, all of a week? Not like they started game planning for NE yet while he was here. No competitive advantage gained.

  11. MR.T Says:

It’s more likely the signed him because they think he can be good than for any info they can get from him about the bucs since he was here only for a short time, we’ll see if they cut him any time soon, if they do, then maybe it was just for whatever info they could get.

I don’t think Bellicheat needs to gather any Buccaneer Intelligence.
THERE IS NO INTELLIGENCE! Just Brovado of a Marginally successfull Minor League College Coach setting up his dis-passionate QB for a Scapegoat for a Season ALREADY LOST!
