Revis “Did More And Looked Impressive”

August 21st, 2013

greg schiano 0802So what’s the best news coming out of One Buc Palace today?

There’s no question it was Greg Schiano’s assessment of Darrelle Revis’ Wednesday practice effort.

Revis has been stepping up his workload, including covering Vincent Jackson in drills. Today, per Schiano, Revis “did more and looked impressive.”

The Bucs need their $1 million-per-game man on the field to challenge for the playoffs. So this is an amazing sign.

As for Revis playing Saturday night in Miami, Schiano didn’t rule it out but specified that everything Revis does is with a thorough day-to-day approach. Translation: Saturday is up to Revis, if he’s healthy.

We need a “NO FLY ZONE” chant!

  2. Jason A Says:

    Let the man play!!

  3. Chef Paul Says:

    Gus,

Agreed. In fact any chant will do. Just make some noise. I’ll never forget last year in the skins game. Fourth quarter, time running out, skins down by one. What could you hear from the crowd? RG3! RG3! RG3! RG3! How in the world did a few skins fan make more noise than the home team? That was the exact time the home crowd should have been the loudest.

I do have a feeling tho, this year will be different. There seems to be more passion this year than we’ve had for the last few years. And Revis is just what the doctor ordered.

    Sorry, just kidding.

  8. Gus Numbers Says:

@mike j the man hasn’t forgot how to hit. He plays corner. He will be in coverage more times than not. I’m not worried about him not getting much contact

Revis is the most positive thing going for the Bucs right now. Can’t wait to see this guy on the field!

  12. The 300s Says:

Is it just me or does it seem strange Revis becomes full go after practices are closed to the public? I don’t think anyone has really seen our defense yet.

  13. Broy3434 Says:

^interesting point but it could be a coinsidence

  14. Gus Numbers Says:

@300 that is very interesting. I hope Revis has the same impact on our defense as vjax had on our offense.

  15. nick Says:

maybe carl nicks should have lost some weight and not came into camp looking like an umpa loompa ….. when you weigh 550lbs. your toes might hurt.. fat waste of money

  16. Mike J Says:

Gus Numbers , that was not the thrust of my concern; I want to know if the knee will hold up.

Totally unfounded thing to say. He weighs 349 which is arounf the mormal weight for a guard.

It’s because it takes time to heal. Nothing more. Year after year the teams hide their good plays in Training Camp and Preseason. That’s why I shake my head at guys saying the preseason games are proof the Bucs suck…they’re not even seeing the real thing.

They won’t this weekend either. Sure, the starters will play about a half, but the playbooks will still be dummied down.
