I hope the tv coverage is better this week. I wanted to watch the plays and who did what . Could not do that last week with the camera men zooming in on the players faces for close ups. By the time the camera man got to the playthe ball was already handed off or the QB was back to pass. Could not tell how the first team O line or dline did the entire first half. was like watching a 1990s MTV video it was bad. If they keep this up football is dead and hockey will be top dog

Celly, I didn’t blame Freeman…I’m not sure who is to blame for the “bump”, but it was probably Martin running the wrong route. Either way, preseason is a time to work on this stuff. Lets see what happens this drive.

People are hating on Freeman. Do yourselves a favor and actually watch the pass blocking. Freeman has to give the play at least 3-4 seconds to develop. The pass blocking isn’t giving him that time.

I thought plays are supposed to be deceptive. Our offense is so predictable. We not giving Freeman or anybody a chance to prosper throwing the ball on every 1st down. Our OC needs to get it together. He’s hurting us for real.

Preseason football is like this every year, especially the first two games and the forth game.
In our case we may not see multie starters until week 1 of the regular. We have a lot of backups starting right now.
None of this preseason is indicative of the regular season. Finding the right backups is what it is about.

The problem is that peolle are assuming the team will be bad when the starters are not even playing (key ones i mean).
Which starters are out tonight? Nicks. Joseph. Revis? Owusu is in Tampa. Gibson started on Dline because Spense has not even gotten good enough to start yet. Other than Banks we have. Ostly the same CBs in there. Johnson, while being an excellent tackler, got beat constantly.
Ucs get on the board, but not until none of the Pats starters are in.

Pats run short routes when the dbs are playin backed off. Easy quick short routes. If tampa is gonna line up heads up on wrs the dbs need to put a hand on the wr. They were playin like they were afraid of toms deep pass. On offense they knew josh would be lookin for the deep ball hence the blitz and press man coverage. Make the qb hold the ball n make a decision.

I agree with Kurius Boy. Sully’s play calls were taking to long to develop with this offensive line against an aggressive blitzing defense. He needs quicker developing plays or this will happen like the latter half of last season when teams started figuring it out and began to defend it better. The New Orleans game comes to mind. They played a safety over the top and LB blitzed the whole game and shut us down to the tune of 41 – 0. We didn’t adapt and play the dink and dunk and take what the defense was giving us.

Okay…you tell me. What should he do? You said it yourself, there were no WRs close for quick passes. It’s not like the WRs didn’t know the blitz was coming…the Pats did it constantly. Combine that with a rapidly collapsing oline and Freeman had no time. No options. He didn’t even have a running lane to scramble with.
Presnap would make no difference. Not in this case.

I was busy putting together a crib, what did I miss.
I turned on the TV to see Glennon’s pass to Ogletree, with some decent running from Mike James and Peyton Hillis.
Freeman got sacked thrice. Was it possible for him to at least get ride of the ball? Was the O-Line awful?
I think Glennon is obviously the #2 QB on this team now.

We know he can be elusive and escape the pocket if he needs to, it’s just odd because it’s almost like he just wont anymore.

This is now two weeks that we have looked BAD. Whatever we are doing in practice is not working!
I love Freeman but he looked lost out there. When you watch Brady out there he knows where to throw the ball as soon as the ball is snapped.
I don’t think Revis can even cover the receiver in our defense.

Some nice returns, James looks much better,& Glennon pretty impressive; not often you see an NFL QB complete even a short throw after the pocket has collapsed & he has been swatted on the noggin. I am not totally displeased.

Listen guys glennon is looking great and all but it’s hard to judge how he’d look with the first team.
I like glennon. I think he will eventually replace freeman. My honest opinion. Josh just holds on to the ball too long. He didn’t audible into any plays that would allow him to get the ball out quickly when the pats were showing blitz. That still puzzles me.

Dude you just dodged that question. Ronde flat out pimped up Doug Martin as a BIG part of that offense and continued to say josh cannot carry the offense and is TO prone. He also said he’s teetering earlier in the offense. He’s either really good or really bad.
I think being around freeman for 4 years, ronde might know a thing or two about him.

One thing I admire a lot about this young guy Glennon is his poise in the pocket. He’s very stoic. He’s not jittery, or has happy feet, when under pressure. Although, one hard NFL hit my change that but right now he certainly looks great. SteveK calls him “Big Bird”. Well he definitely stands tall that’s for sure.
