“No Stone Unturned”

August 1st, 2013

Tom Crabtree, and his 18 career catches, very well may be the Bucs’ No. 1 tight end when the opening kickoff is booted in 38 days.

Crabtree spent three seasons (plus practice squad time) in Green Bay and sports a Super Bowl ring. Despite time inside a championship program, Crabtree said today he’s impressed by the detail-oriented nature of the New Schiano Order and by how he’s learning new nuances of football.

“Man, [Greg Schiano] really leaves no stone unturned. That’s for sure. He really stresses being a smarter football player,” Crabtree said. “That’ll make us a better team. It’s been cool to learn a bunch of little things here and there that I might not have thought about or might not have known, for sure. So it’s been an adjustment but it’s all positive.”

Crabtree’s a straight shooter and Joe doesn’t think Crabtree’s just stroking the regime here. (You can catch the full audio of this exclusive Crabtree interview in the WDAE-AM 620 audio feed below)

Coaching, Teaching, Mentoring…..The New Schiano Order….
I like what I see thus far and think it will start to pay off on the field.

  2. You Go Joe Says:

Hey Joe, you think Crabtree has performed well or decent?? Potentially above average ?

Since we signed this guy…I have been STOKED. I followed him in green bay and was surprised that he did not take over as the number 1 tight end. I’d take him over Finley all day long. Crabtree is the man and will be a HUGE asset on our offense. Very reliable, durable and one of the best locker room guys you can ask for…that’s what they said in Greenbay. Huge Value in that signing. Good job Mark Dominik

@YouGoJoe – Just too early to get a great read on Crabtree. He’s got hands and clearly a lot more speed than Stocker.

A TE that can block and catch, is perfect for this O.

Off topic again : On Friday, Aug. 2, the NFL Network airs a one-hour special called Warren Sapp: Relentless at 8 p.m. ET.

  7. Macabee Says:

For one he’s on the field! That alone puts him ahead of Stocker!

  8. BOb Says:

Im sorry but he is not better than stocker ( at catching anyway) i have been to 4 of the practices and seen him drop a good percentage of passes thrown his way. If that continues in the season we’ll see a revolt. Even in the preseason. Not saying that right now means everything but its usually a prelude to whats to come. Not good!

  9. SteveK Says:

I would not be shocked to see: Crabtree/Byham as our guys.

  10. Andrew 1 Says:

Stocker has been spotted the letters B.U.S. and hes only got one more letter to go before he spells the word bust. hes teetering on the edge.

lets hope Crabs can get it done.

[Come on, 1987, Joe’s site is not a message board. You are a good dude, but please don’t hijack threads. This nothing to do with Tom Crabtree. — Joe]

  13. Raphael Says:

I don’t think we will see those 15 – 18 penalty’s per game like with Raheem
