Listen To Mike Glennon

July 29th, 2013

Bucs backup quarterback Mike Glennon got his first taste of NFL live bullets Saturday night and was kind enough to talk about his first padded practice against professional football players in this WDAE-AM 620 audio.

Glennon spoke about how he is not ready to lead the offense crafted by Bucs offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan and about going up against the Bucs defense, including nearly leading a practice-winning drive in the final seconds of the scrimmage.

    this guy knows whats up.

    what do you expect him to say? “I’m ready to start”

    He’s just keeping his mouth shut, lowering expectations and giving jfro rope.

    but mark my words. He will be your starting QB by years end.

  2. Sneedy16 Says:

    OK

  3. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Glennon’s a smart guy & already a Buccaneer Man….he knows his place.
    He’s not ready now but will be by mid-year if Freeman falters…

  4. Walter Says:

    Lol ok Robert

  5. Buc1987 Says:

    “This fallacy that Glennon is going to beat out Freeman for the starting job this season is lunacy at its finest.” –Joe

    robert = lunatic

  6. Buc1987 Says:

    Can we atleast see him throw a pass in pre-season first?

  7. the_buc_realist Says:

    I think everyone is just saying that if JFro-6pak is so great. Then why is this year his “last chance”. I can smell change coming in the air.

  8. robert Says:

    I smell it too realist

    the $hit winds are a blowin

  9. BucDan Says:

    @the_buc_realist

    This is where you are wrong, sir. Nobody is saying JFree is great. Our collective argument is ‘How the hell are you automatically anointing Glennon as his successor when he has not played a down of professional football?’

    I would rather hear an argument that we should give a back up like Jason Campbell a shot or some other QB that has actually won some games in the league. That camp competition would put up more controversy than what is going on now.

  10. Walter Says:

    @BucDan

    It’s not even a competition, Realist and Robert are just desperate for SOMEONE to take Freeman’s job. They’re gonna be waiting a looooooong time.

  11. Buc1987 Says:

    Good lord @ the 2 of you.

  12. SteveK Says:

    Playoffs or QB change in 2013.

  13. Buc1987 Says:

    Oh wait Glennon was drafted by Dom. So he really can’t be all that good can he realist?

  15. Walter Says:

    Mike Glennon: “UMMMM, I felt pretty, UMMMM, good today, made some throws, UMMMMM, missed a big one there at the end, UMMMMM…”

    Interviewer: “How much of the playbook do you have down?”

    Mike Glennon: “UMMMMM, I wouldn’t really say “got it down,” UMMMMM, I’m learning a little more every day, UMMMMMM, those pre-season games will really help a lot, UMMMMMM, help works out the kinks.”

    Guy sounds dumb as a rock

  16. joseph mamma Says:

    How many turnover’s does Freeman have over the last two years? People wonder why they want to see him replaced.

  17. robert Says:

    @ walter….

    dumb as a rock……you know how many PHDs and genius’ who could talk their way out of a paper bag?

    1st time they stick a mic in front of him and he says ummmmm.

    what I heard was a quick minded guy who may have used ummmm too much, but it was much better than jfro’s

    hear the question, then grimace and struggle for an answer only to deliver it with a well, ya know maybe, could be, kind of…….

    Glennon was on point and precise where jfo seems in pain to answer a question.

  18. Walter Says:

    @robert

    Lol awwww how cute, Robbie-Poo is here to defend his Mikey-Wikey. XD

    Don’t worry bro, the first human-ostrich hybrid backup QB can handle the criticism. Haha

  19. mpmalloy Says:

    These idiots are bat-**** crazy.
    Building an arc because God said it will rain for 40 days.
    Sheesh.

  20. Tye Says:

    So, your saying the near future for the Bucs is BLEAK… That’s Not surprising!

  21. Buc1987 Says:

    Yes Tye…it is if Glennon HAS to come in because Freeman is sucking so bad. That means the season has gone down the toilet.

  22. Couch Fan Says:

    3 out of 4 seasons with Freeman have gone down the toilet, so it wouldn’t be surprising for that to be 4 out of 5 this year.

  23. Couch Fan Says:

    The great Bill walsh once said that a QB develops a pattern after 18 games…. Guess what Josh’s pattern is?

  24. Buc1987 Says:

    Couch Fan…once again blaming it ALL on Josh. I think the Bucs could have drafted a QB in the 6th round and robert and gang would be clamoring for him to start over Freeman.

  25. Couch Fan Says:

    As I said losing seasons in 3 out of 4 years, that makes him a losing QB so far in his career. You combine that with only winning once in his college career…. that is a pattern Buc1987… and his play hasent been so good that it demands respect.

    I can’t blame anyone for being fed up with Freeman and wanting him gone.

  26. Walter Says:

    @Couch Fan

    In my eyes, the people that want him gone are idiots. Why? Because they think its up to the QB to drag a team to the playoffs. Sorry, this team has been trash for a LOOOOOOONG time. Luck, Wilson, RG III, and Kaepernick: none of those guys would lead this team to the playoffs last year.

  27. Buc1987 Says:

    I get your point Couch Fan and few others points as well. Maybe I just won’t give up on that “potential” word. Why? Probably because I think if the right coach gets a hold of Freeman he can be a good QB, because of the potential. He has soooooo much potential that I still think he can be fixed. Unlike some and you who think they are wasting their time with him. I also think after seeing Luck, RG3 and Wilson as rookies take their teams to the playoffs has added to the frustration of Buc fans over Freeman. Oh well we keep going around and round in circles about this almost every day. I guess it passes the time away until the season, but it is redundant. Oh and we have YET to see Glennon’s “potential” either, but robert slobbers all over him like he’s the answer.

  28. robert Says:

    walt says

    “Luck, Wilson, RG III, and Kaepernick: none of those guys would lead this team to the playoffs last year.”

    Robert says

    ARE YIU F*$KING HIGH????

  29. Walter Says:

    @Robert

    Nope, I’m being honest. None of the produced enough to carry a team, they are fortunate to have solid defenses behind them. Well, except for Luck, he is the only one that I feel can become elite. The others rely too much on their legs, and RG III already paid the price for that. I think Luck will progress, Wilson will level out, and Kaepernick and RG III will have slumps this year. Bold predictions for sure, but I see it happening. These guys will surprise NO ONE this year.

  30. Buc1987 Says:

    @Walter I see it the EXACT same way. Ditto!

  31. Couch Fan Says:

    Indianapolis had a worse team than us. There defense was just SLIGHTLY better but that offense Luck has, is NOWHERE near as good as what we have. Luck did more with less. And he got his team to the playoffs.

    Wilson and kaepernick had a good team around them so I cant dispute that. RG3 is iffy but his play last year was way better and more consistent than anything Free has put together.

  32. Couch Fan Says:

    In my eyes, the people that want him gone are idiots. Why?

    —————————————————

    Thats ok because the people who want him gone dont really give a crap about what you think they are…..

    To be more to the point, I think anyone that thinks less of anyone else simply because they dont agree with you are idiots.

  33. Buc1987 Says:

    LOL @ Couch Fan…I can understand why some fans want him gone, so Walter your wrong. I agree with Walter about 95% of the time, just not this time. Some of THEM have valid reasons why Walter, and some of THEM just talk out of their ass. Couch Fan is not one of them. He wants Freeman to do good, he just does not see it happening. That does not make him an idiot. Right now we don’t know who is right or who is wrong when it comes to Freeman. All we can do is bicker back and forth over it.
    I might add Warren Sapp said prior to the 2011 season that Freeman was going to be NFL MVP. LOL look how that turned out.
