Santonio Holmes Can’t Run

July 21st, 2013

No, it’s not too early to obsess about the Bucs-Jets, season-opener on Sept. 8 in only 49 days. But who’s counting ;)

Great news from Jets camp emerged yesterday, when Jets beat writer Manish Mehta revealed New York’s No. 1 wide receiver, Santonio Holmes, can’t run.

@MMehtaNYDN – 6 days b4 Jets 1st training camp practice, Santonio Holmes still can’t do full weight-bearing running. He’ll be placed on PUP list next week … Jets WR Santonio Holmes (foot) won’t even definitively say that he’ll be ready for the season opener against the Buccaneers on Sept. 8

If Holmes can’t go, that could mean even more balls thrown to DJ Toes On The Line.

That’s a good thing, assuming Mark Barron can, in fact, cover the athletic tight ends he was drafted to shadow.

As I said before, there is no reason why we should lose to this team. None. I dont wanna say game 1 is a must win. But this year I believe winning the first game is critical for this team. A loss will be devistating.

  2. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I can’t wait to see how Winslow feels after he runs into a cross-pattern collision from the “no-fly-zone” Goldson & Barron.
I hope the “DJ” doesn’t quit his day job because he is gonna’ get rocked!!!

  3. Yeah It's me! Says:

I agree with you Couch fan.Winning week one is HUGE for this team.Winning could help catapult us to starting 4-0 or 5-0.Or even 4-1.Beating the Jets, Than having the Saints at home with Rob Ryan’s new 3-4 D, A possibly very weakened Pats team followed by Cards at home with a new QB and Scheme.Than a bye week to prepare for the Eagles. If we start great it will most likely be the difference of having a chance for the Playoff’s.

How sad Joe, that great news is that a 6-10 team from last year, with a lame duck head coach and possibly THE worst quarterback in football, and great news is they lost there #1 Wr so the bucs can have a possible win. How far has this team fallen???

  5. Buc'n Junkie Says:

We’ve got an opponent we can destroy in our first game and realist is crying about it. Suck it up whiny little girl.

off topic : Briefly ending my silence until Sept 8th to ask a few quick questions. How do I obtain a parking pass for the whole season with my season tix? About how much do they run in price? Is it worth it to even buy them or just find the closest 15 dollar parking?

  7. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @Buc1987

You can get your parking pass from Buc Realist…he will gladly give it up and may actually pay you to take it off your hands so he won’t even be tempted to watch his miserable Bucs with their awful GM & Coach & FAs & Draft Picks…..
Hey Realist….anything you find wrong with the cheerleaders?

  8. Buc1987 Says:

I’m only asking because google is of no help to me. All I can find through searching is passes for non season tix holders. Those were outrageous and went well beyond the 15 dollar per game price. Something 565 bucks or so.

  9. Mike J Says:

The (final) ”PFW Preview” only gives the Jets’ receivers a ”C” grade with Holmes (though w/out Winslow).

  10. BucsfaninChina Says:

DJ Toes on the line, love it.

  11. Solaire of Astora Says:

Hey bucs realist on account of the fact that we were 7-9 last year not very far

  12. Bucnjim Says:

    1987,
A lot of people park @ Al Lopez park off of Hines road. It’s $15 which is less than the $25 stadium parking and perfect if you’re a tailgater. The only time you don’t want to use it is if there has been a lot of rain because it floods and they close the section close to the stadium. Otherwise it’s great!

  13. Buc'n Junkie Says:

    Buc1987

Here’s where I park. We have kickass tailgate party’s and if you don’t mind walking a couple city blocks it’s only $10 to park in shade. Plus it’s pretty easy to get out of there without all the traffic. Just use N. MacDill Ave.

  14. Walter Says:

    Bucs 27, Jets 13

  15. Buc'n Junkie Says:

^^^^^sorry I park at the Judeo Christian Health Center or surrounding parking lots …here’s the map quest

  16. Buc1987 Says:

Thanks for the parking ideas. BB on site Sept 7th day before the Jets game.

  17. MadMax Says:

The DJ will meet a hard hitting fate if he even tries…….count on it! Barron and Goldson gone getcha boy!

  18. Buc1987 Says:

Thanks for that link too Junkie I would have been lost without it. Go Bucs!

  19. BigMacAttack Says:

You can call Bucs ticket office for passes. Lot 13 is $15 but the others are more. It is cheaper to park privately. There will be info in you season ticket package. I got mine a couple days ago.

  20. delson Says:

The jets got milliner and richardson in the first smith in the second could be a new jets and notthe laughingstock the nfl is used to seeing. Thats being real without negativity.

  21. Solaire of Astora Says:

In all seriousness Rex is not a bad football coach and if he can get his players to buy back into his system the jets can be a good team. They really have no body at WR though maybe the rookie they drafted last year will pan out.

  22. MadMax Says:

The jets are going to be crushed….screen capture my prediction and if Im wrong, I’ll dress like a female, wearing makeup, a pink tutu and heels with the pink puffy things……Im already marking that game as our 1st win!

  23. Buc'n Junkie Says:

^^^^Men wearing tutu’s has become part of the norm today, it’s no-longer a shock. You gotta do better than that …lol

  24. scubog Says:

1987: Depending on where you are coming from, a lot of people park at Jesuit on North Himes. Parking included in your season ticket package is an additional $212.50 for the 10 games. There may only be parking available in Lot 10 which is pretty far south on the corner of Himes and Columbus. Just call the Buccaneers and they can tell you what might be available. I use Lot 4 from my Club Seats account but also have two passes for Lot 14 from my two Lower Bowl accounts. The posters gave you some good suggestions for game to game parking. Get there early and you wont have a problem. You’ll need to learn the traffic plan for exiting whatever area you choose. You will be directed to go a certain way and will have to figure out where you need to go.

  25. Buddah Says:

Buccaneers as a road favorite in Jets Home Opener. Trouble lurks. I have Jets winning this game and the Buccaneers beating New Orleans. NFL..any given Sunday. Not confident about this game at all. It does not make or break the season.

  26. Couch Fan Says:

It doesn’t make or break the season true. But it dam sure will set the tone for it. Losing to a team like the Jets would crush morale not only for the team but the fans to.

Can you imagine what these posts are going to be like the Monday AFTER if we lose to the Jets?
