Bucs Expect Revis In Pads On Day 1 Of Camp

A newly sheared Bucs rock star general manager Mark Dominik joined “Total Access” last night and dropped big news on NFL Network.

Dominik said he is “fully confident” Darrelle Revis, rehabbing from reconstructive surgery on his torn ACL, will be practicing on Day 1 of training camp in full pads.

“He’s in great shape right now,” Dominik said of Revis. “He’s running full speed, he’s cutting, he’s doing all the things we’d want him to do from a training standpoint, a rehabilitation standpoint.

“We’re going to keep him at our pace, but the whole point is that he’ll walk out to the first day of training camp, he’ll have the pads on and he’ll be ready hopefully for the Jets Week 1. We’re expecting that.”

It’s great the Revis has progressed so far so fast. If Revis is ready to go full tilt for training camp, that’s a very, very good sign.

Dominik’s complete interview is included in a video embedded in the link above.

Yay! Man I hope we can get through training camp and Preseason without any injury losses. On paper we have a good looking team. Would like to see us come out in the regular season full strength so we can see what we really have.

I just watched the replay on the NFL Network. Revis was looking great! I all the pieces fall into placs like Coach and Dom want, we are going to have a much improved D.

Scott Hansen also proclaimed he was going to be in Tampa next week for mini camp and is taking Dom up on his shaved head challenge by also get his head shaved for the Pediatric Cancer cause. I think thats a great cause and glad to see so many team members participate.

I’m sure they’ll still be throttling down his pace & participation somewhat even in training camp, as well as having a hands-off policy to protect him from being too roughed-up (like the Vikings did last year in training camp with Adrian Peterson; in fact Leslie Frazier told the team anyone hitting AP would be cut). Nonetheless, this is still fantastic news.

    Awesome.

At $1,000,000.00 per game, I hope we get some huge productivity out of Revis. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad Revis is on the team, I pray that he lives up to the paycheck.

I was concerned about Revis being a bad locker room guy as the NY media would have you believe, but from everything I have seen so far, he really seems like a “Buccaneer Man”. Gives reason for great hope this season.
