“No Limitations,” Freeman Must Rise

April 16th, 2013

It’s Day 2 of the Bucs’ offseason program, and captain Davin Joseph has pronounced himself 100 percent healthy.

“No limitations,” Joseph said. “No major hurdles, just working on all the little things, getting in football shape. Just like any offseason.

“I feel actually better in some phases of my game really.”

Joseph, who had major knee surgery in August, went on to say the Bucs offense is loaded with weapons and needs to “make [Josh] Freeman the player he needs to be.”

Joseph also said while offensive line coach Bob Bostad deserves all kinds of credit for the success of the Bucs offense last season, Joseph gave more credit to the culture of the New Schiano Order creating a work environment and taking the Bucs out of their “country club” life under Raheem Morris.

There were zero misscommunications in that message.

FREEMAN, TIME TO PLAY UP TO YOUR POTENTIAL.

  4. ScottyinFatAntonio Says:

I am curious as to why Freeman has yet to speak up. We have now heard from McCoy and Joseph.

  5. 4everBucsFan Says:

Wow! 1 pro bowl caliber LT and move Penn to the right, this line could be scary good.

  6. 4everBucsFan Says:

Which reminds me, if they drafted 1 of the top 3 OT with the first pick it wouldn’t bother me at all.

  7. Oldguy Says:

Are their no FA LTs yet available?

  8. James Buc Says:

Reading the interview piece between the lines, I can see Lane Johnson as a possibility at 13. If we get him there, it wouldn’t bother me and it would be a great pairing on the Right side with Joseph.

  9. Piratic Says:

    @Joe:
Can you expand on what #75 said about how it was playing for Coach Morris?
I’d love to read more about that.
With that stated, I too, absolutely LOVE the New Schiano Order. You coined the phrase, and it’s a good one because the transition from the old regime to the current one was drastic.
Thankfully, we’ve moved on from the “country club” atmosphere at One Buc Place. Admittedly, the W/L record didn’t change much from the 2011 season, but anyone should be able to see that this coaching staff is far better than the previous one, as the product on the field was far better (disciplined, tough, and prepared) than the previous three seasons.

  10. Biff Barker Says:

Sad that Freeman’s teammates are pushing him as opposed to Freeman pushing his teammates.
Quite the testament of leadership from our franchise QB.
Now about that kid from Syracuse Chucky is foaming over….

  11. St Augustine Says:

Good for Davin Joseph for calling it out (regarding country club comment). Davin Joseph will be one of the true Buccaneers!

  12. ladyz Says:

Country Club atmosphere = Moon Walking MJ photo shoot & to hell with winning ball games and he was still looking for a big bucks extension.

  13. clafollett Says:

I agree 100% with what Piratic had to say.

I said it yesterday – as many others have in the past – fix a few obvious mistakes, eliminate devastating injuries and we are playoff bound. We haven’t had this much offensive balance and big play capability in a long time if ever. With Big Davin back and unrestricted, this could be an elite offense now and for a several years to come.

I highly recommend everyone watch the interview for yourself on the team site. What joseph said was taking out of context.

He was talking about the whole team needing to step up “from the d line corners lbs need to do their part. To the wrs making catches, O line making the push, to the rbs making good runs. Freeman need a team effort. Everyone want to but all the blame on Freeman. When the Pats didn’t even make the superbowl.” -D. Joseph-

Welcome back, mr. Joseph! We missed you!
