Your Eric Wright Non-Update/UpdateMarch 13th, 2013
Just is getting hammered on Twitter about this subject, so Joe is pretty sure a post about said subject needs to be written.
No, there has been no decision on the grievance Eric Wright filed to stop his contract – and its guaranteed $7 million and change for 2013 – from being voided by Bucs rock star general manager Mark Dominik.
Wright, per Rotoworld.com, last year signed a five-year, $38 million contract with the first two years of his contract, worth $15.5 million, guaranteed. But there was a clause in the contract that if Wright was suspended, the contract could be voided.
Last season Wright violated the NFL drug policy, served a four-game suspension, and thus gave Dominik an out.
There is no timetable on the ruling of Wright’s grievance. It could come today, it could come in July.
When Joe learns of this, he will post the results. If for some reasons Joe’s readers are unaware of the ruling, rest assured, it is because there has been no ruling.
So put away your party favors and kazoos until appropriately alerted.
