Doug Martin Will Eat Pineapple

January 20th, 2013

Running back Frank Gore is now making plans for the Super Bowl, and that means the Muscle Hampster, rookie Doug Martin, will take his place at the Pro Bowl in Hawaii.

That makes three Bucs who will feast on pineapple next Sunday. Martin joins Vincent Jackson, who also got the call for the roster as an alternate, and Gerald McCoy, who was selected via the initial process via fans’, coaches’ and players’ votes.

Martin racked up 1,454 rushing yards and is very deserving. Martin had just one official fumble at Carolina, and that should have been ruled a touchdown. He’s the first Bucs rookie to eat pineapple since Clifton “Peanut” Smith in 2008.

Yes, Joe will watch this year’s Pro Bowl. The beer already is on ice.

Well deserved…should have been voted in anyway.

  2. BigMacAttack Says:

    Luther, I second that.

  3. Mavsmoney Says:

    Bigmacattack, I second that.

    Luther, I third that.

How come Cadillac got more hype as a rookie?

  4. tampabaybucfan Says:

Well deserved….absolutely a great guy….just the start of a fantastic career!

  5. Luther Says:

Cadillac had the cool nickname and got off to a hot start. Doug should embrace the “Muscle Hamster” and make his money. Stop fighting the money machine.

  6. PRBucFan Says:

Happy for Dougie, a humble kid that really deserved this.

I can’t wait to watch his career unfold as a Buc.

  7. SeanyMac in SC Says:

    Very happy Doug Martin.

I’m getting some satisfaction that NE best CB Talib (as described by the TV broadcasters) is on the side lines when they needed him the most. That 4th round pick feels a little better now.

  9. MTM Says:

Well deserved Muscle Hamster! Don’t get hurt.

  10. BigMacAttack Says:

Flaccid has been lighting them up since Talib left the game. Typical Aqib, go down when the team needs you most. He’ll be playing for Raheem next year. Drinking buddies back together again.

  11. BigMacAttack Says:

Autocorrect strikes again. Every time I type flacco it comes out flaccid.

  12. PRBucFan Says:

    Yea, Ive always defended Talib…

When he was on the field he was making a difference

But it seems like he is the definition of injury prone with his bad hips and hammys now

  13. Stranger Says:

I think his hips are fine. His hamstrings will always be fault though. Shame they would act up on him now.

  14. Macabee Says:

Some of you stat guys help me out here, but I think Doug is the first rookie to make the Pro Bowl as a RB since Warrick Dunn in 1997. Clifton Smith made it as a rookie in 2008 as a kick-return specialist.

  15. Kansasbuc Says:

Dougie Too Fresh, Vincent Too Jacked, and Gerald Too Coy all goin to the pro bowl baby!!!

  16. ShayneGoodfellow Says:

I’m pretty sure you are correct Macabee,

  17. JobBucsFan 1.5 slim Says:

Didn’t the 49ers have 8 starting pro bowlers? That should open up 8 more slots.

  18. ladyz Says:

Our three Bucaneer Men will do us proud again. Congratulations to all three.

  19. 1976Buc Says:

It will be the best pineapple he ever eats. Congratulations.

  20. Andrew 1 Says:

Great News! this kid is truly something special. I feel stupid for ever doubting him and wont make that same mistake again. nobody feels like he was slighted even a little bit for being an alternate though?

  21. IheartTheBucs Says:

    nice

  22. mark2001 Says:

YES….he deserves it…doing so much behind a makeshift line.

BTW….Joe….as we know, Talib won’t be playing in the SB. I’ll bet cheat wishes he had that fourth round pick back. I’m hoping for a “hearts and flowers” condolences article today.

  23. mark2001 Says:

    PR Buc Fan…

Do you think he might be too muscled up, causing some physiological imbalance due to some “special conditioning” dietary regime?

I’ve often wondered how many guys with these kind of nagging injuries are a result of such things. Seems we never saw as much of that in the “old days”.

  24. PRBucFan Says:

I’m not sure whats up with Talib, it’s dissapointing though.

  25. 32-BIT Says:

I’m glad that Doug Martin is going to the pro-bowl. BUT… I was REALLY hoping Ronde Barber would’ve made the pro-bowl this year. anyways, I HATE the phrase “will eat pineapple” or “feast on pineapple” because i ate a can of pineapple last night and almost threw up on the last little slice of pineapple. I JUST CAN’T STOMACH THE STUFF. LOL anyways…yeah lets just say he will go to the pro bowl INSTEAD of he will eat pineapple
