Bennett: “We Should Have Made The Play”

December 9th, 2012

It was Eagles ball, fourth-and-five from the Bucs 23. Some 16 seconds left. It was do-or-die for the Eagles. The Bucs make a stop, and the win is theirs.

Instead, quarterback Nick Foles, a rookie third-round draft pick, looked far more the franchise quarterback than his counterpart for the Bucs. He stood tall in pressure and connected down the middle for a 22-yard gain to Jason Avant.

We all know what happened after that. Touchdown, ballgame, see ya, playoffs.

In Michael Bennett’s eyes, that play should have never have been completed.

“That sprint out play, that is the play we practiced,” Bennett said in a mausoleum-like Bucs locker room after the game. “We went over that play several times this weekend. We should have been ready for it. We had to make one more play. That is their No. 1 go-to play. And we had to have it.

“We studied that play. We should have made the play.”

Im sorry it should not be Bennett who played great this game saying this it should be those useless so called NFL CBs back there standing up and apologizing those are not scrubs they are worse (if thats possible) its like they just stare up and watch the ball in the air and not even cover there receivers. On the last play Johnson should of been on his guy like glue GLUE!!!! Who remembers the saints game last play of the game freeman throws to Williams for a td but no he was out of bounds fist and since freeman was out of the pocket he can be pushed out of bounds. SO clearly foles was out of the pocket so push your damn guy around push him out but no they stare at the ball!!!!!!!!! There like watching a bunch average joes play in a local house league!!! And through out the whole game the odd nice play they make they go crazy i.e. Biggers, Johnson ect focus and play your to bad to go crazy after one play. Sorry guys im pissed you cant think you can make a playoff run and field a bunch of CBs off the street! This whole paragraph is for the exception of Barber and Gaitor he didnt look bad

I thought that was Freemans fault as well

Agree with Canadianbuc. Push them out of bounds, quit being a spectator and play the game

Actually the offensive player clearly pushed off K2 style to get separation in the end zone. Funny how teams playing the Bucs can use replays to call penalties but the Bucs can’t. The Bucs are not even allowed to red flag a completion/fumble.

I’m no expert, but Mark Barron has played like garbage lately. I know we all want to stay positive, but besides a few uninpactful hits, hes been rather NONEXISTENT. I’ll proudly be the bad guy. I know Freeman had a lackluster performance, but Barron has been subpar at best this year.

THey have bad CBs… we knew that based on all the other losses… it is why I am excited about next year
