Lewis Knee Injury Isn’t Serious

December 5th, 2012

The Bucs’ No. 1 kick returner, LeQuan Lewis, a member of the famous Fearsome Foursome, “E.J., Leonard, Danny and LeQuan,” went down on the field against Denver with a knee injury. But his prognosis is better than expected, so Greg Schiano said today.

Schiano said Lewis may not be ready for Sunday against Philadelphia, but he should be back soon after that.

The Lewis injury likely means another Lewis might sniff the field in key third-down situations. That would be Myron Lewis.

It’s unclear whether Michael Smith will finally come off the inactive list, aka the Michael Smith list. The Bucs might opt for Roscoe Parris to return kicks or wide receiver Chris Owusu, even though Smith is listed on the depth chart as the backup return man.

Hopefully its Michael Smith’s time to return kicks. Lets see what this guy can do in a HUGE game this sunday.

Good news for the kid. I figured he tore it up by the reaction.

Joe as you would say, the football gods just go Myron Lewis’s way every time. When Gaitor came back they were going to release Myron. But now he remains one more week. Lets see if he can miraculously turn around every single bucs fan thoughts of him.

    wouldnt it be gaitor???

I always thought it was strange putting a CB back returning kicks, when we are in desperate need of healthy corners.

Michael Smith better be out there this weekend!

The Little General “redshirted” Smith hoping he grows a few more inches and puts on a few more pounds of muscle.

He’s also got him running sprints so he doesn’t embarrass the coach by getting caught from behind on kick off returns when in the clear for a touchdown.

The announcer said it appeared he had the dreaded “tired legs” which caused much humiliation for the new coach and his methods.

The return of Gaitor at this particular time reminds me that with 4 games left, we may see a player or two drop their Adderall appeal on Saturday afternoon and take the 4 game suspension. I may be wrong it’s just a hypothesis that I had when Talib “surprised” us all late on a Saturday afternoon. I was correct about Eric Wright, just guessing there’s more to come.

It would be nice if they gave Michael Smith another shot but they seem to go out of their way to play anyone else but him. It appears to me that if the bucs were down to two choices to do KR duty, Smith or the equipment manager, they would seriously consider the equipment manager!
They seem bound and determined to not give the kid another chance at KR or even a try at Rb, why I don’t know, he cant be that bad or they wouldn’t still have him on the roster. Maybe he’s in the coaches doghouse for another reason, who knows.

I love the idea of “reshirting” Michael Smith! Finally! Miguel said something true!

I am really happy to hear that LeQuan is going to be ok. I was worried about him when he went down. I hate to see our guys hurt. Its their job u know.

Am I the only one seeing the valiant effort being made our CB’s? They have been working their tales off. All of em are high effort youngsters. Maybe they will stick around awhile. Who knows!?

Gaitor is quick. Hopefully he is good shape and ready to go.

Corners for next year? Who yall like?

    Justin, ditto on both counts.

By his reaction….I thought amputation was a certainty. I’m glad he’s ok.
