The Play Nobody’s Talking About

November 13th, 2012

Joe feels compelled to give it up for Daniel Te’o-Nesheim (plus Joe needs more practice spelling his name). The Bucs’ starting right end stepped up huge with the sack seen above.

Down only a touchdown, Philip Rivers and the Chargers got the ball back with 3:53 remaining in the game, and on first down Te’o-Nesheim beat the Chargers left tackle clean to the inside and swallowed up Rivers for a 10-yard sack. Jimminy Christmas! That was something out of Simeon Rice’s book 10 years ago, with the home crowd sent into an absolute frenzy. (Here’s the game link).

It’s no concidence that on the next play Rivers threw the game-sealing pick to LeQuan Lewis.

Te’o-Nesheim has two sacks since filling in for Adrian Clayborn — two more than sackless Kyle Moore — and it’s clear he won’t bow to the arrival of DaQuan Bowers.

Te’o-Nesheim won’t be confused with a Pro Bowler anytime soon, but he’s been a very sound reserve, a fine snatch from the Eagles practice squad by rockstar general manager Mark Dominik less than one year ago.

    Agree

I thought it was funny and telling that Te’o-Nesheim was on PFFs “Team of the week” while the LT he played against the majority of the game was on their “Had a Bad Day” team lol

Joe: ProFootBall focus is giving “DTN” kudos, not only giving him the “Game Ball”, but putting him on their “They had a Good Week” team http://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2012/11/13/pff-team-of-week-10/

Defensive Ends: Chris Long, STL (+5.3) and Daniel Te’o-Nesheim, TB (+4.6)

So there’s the real Chris Long. After a midseason slump, he rebounded in fine fashion with a 10-QB disruption day that was impressive in keeping Charles Johnson out of the team. A first appearance for ‘DTN,’ who feasted on Mike Harris.

Gotta keep this guy. Our team is Polynesian-deficient and this guy is Buc.

  5. Ladyz Says:

A career is built on one play at a time. Could very well be a Buccaneer Man!

  6. Macabee Says:

There is another Washington player I hope the Front Office guys take a look at Alameda Ta’amu 4th rd pick DT just released by the Steelers. He made a terrible mistake but is he a bad guy or a young guy that did something bad? Mason Foster and Dan Teo-Nesheim will know his background.

Coach Schiano knows how to develop both players and men. I don’t want thugs, but if this is a guy that could help and is salvageable as a person, then by all means do due diligence!

He lined up inside several times and got a good push. He also dropped back into coverage from the DT position. I love the versatility.

  8. Jessup Says:

Te’o-Nesheim is to the defensive line what Hayward is to the linebacker corps.

Two Bucs are Pacific Islanders. Daniel & Roy The Samoan Bull Miller. I’m all for getting Alemeda and Manti Teo.

  10. Nicknosbucs Says:

Im a fan fan of daniel. But is anybody in favor of picking up ray edwards from atl? We have two games against atl. Why not hit them where it hurts and bring in a former “dixie chick” lol
