Report: Jimmy Graham Staying In New Orleans

October 20th, 2012

The task for the Bucs to slow down Drew Brees and the Saints just got a whole lot easier.

Mike Florio, the creator, curator and overall guru of ProFootballTalk.com is reporting that the Saints have left all-world tight end Jimmy Graham in New Orleans and he will not play against the Bucs Sunday.

A source with knowledge of the situation tells us that the team has decided to let Graham rest his injured ankle. He will not be traveling with his teammates to Tampa for Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers.

The absence of Graham, who injured the ankle but kept playing 13 days against against the Chargers, puts more pressure on the rest of the offense.

And on the defense. With the bye week to improve a unit that has been overmatched and underperforming, first-year coordinator Steve Spagnuolo could have a few surprises for the Fighting Schianos. (Or is it Schianoes?)

LOL Joe loves that: The Fightin’ Schianos.

It was going to be interesting to see stud Bucs rookie safety Mark Barron battle Graham. Now, thankfully, that matchup will have to wait.

LOL Joe, Spagnola vs Schiano in the Spaghetti wars!
I am glad we don’t have to face Jimmy Graham.

I’ve had an eye on Graham’s status since the injury. This is great freakin news. Watch for Colston vs Barron. I think the Bucs could roll up the Saints tomorow. without Graham the Bucs are superior. Can’t wait!

@back up kicker …not so fast Hombre .. Brees with nothing to lose is still scary..

  5. NJBucsFan Says:

Just read Sergio Kindle was cut. We should really look to put a claim on him. He was a beast at Texas and could be a good player that needs a change o’s scenery.

    Of*

I wonder what Miguel thinks about the newly labled ‘Fighten Schianos’?

Sounds much, much more manlier than the Chirping Chips.

  8. BucfanBF Says:

Don’t care what Miguel thinks. Lol. With J G out, this makes our defensive game plan a little easier. Just don’t blitz brees all day or he will scorch us.

  9. Oahubuc Says:

I’m actually bummed by the news. Big hit on JG were the thing I was most excited about for the season. Hate that guy.

  10. tha truth is... Says:

    @ oahubuc

Same here. I wanted them at full strength so there won’t be any excuses as 2 why we won or didn’t execute 2 their best abilities. That matchup only makes Barron better

  11. tha truth is... Says:

*them not executing 2 tha best of their abilities

  12. Patrick Says:

Lol. So if we do beat the Saints, the critics will say it was because Graham was out.

  13. tha truth is... Says:

    @ Patrick

Duh! U say that like he is of no significance 2 their offense. Not 2 mention a huge matchup problem week in week out. We saw how tha Patriots were limited with Gronk hurting in tha Super Bowl.

  14. Buc Fan #237 Says:

I dont care how we do it… so long as we win. We have some games to make up. Those 3 games that we could of won… well, its time to even the record.
