“B” in my gradebook. Schiano has done a pretty good job (all things considered).

Freeman needs to step up and play to his draft status.

If Freeman plays better, then we can run the ball more effectively, and our D stays more rested.

Schiano has done a marvelous job with changing the culture of this team. We atleast play hard now.

Give Schiano another draft or two, and I bet we will have arrived.

  2. Rican Says:

The poll should be more like has his teamed performed to their ability? Less on the coach and more on the teams inconsistencies IMO.

    Yoyoyoyoyo

    Shiano gets an A.

    Agree with BucoBruce,

    Schiano gets an “A”.

    Gerald McCoy gets an “A”.

    O- Line gets a “B”

    Josh Freeman gets an “F+”

I gave a “D” grade. This team is way to inconsistant to give him much more. The discipline is not there. Look how many penalties they still get. Yes, they play hard. Compared to last season thats no great task. His staff has yet to prove they can do the job. Once again, lack of consistancy.

  8. Kennedy Says:

Curious Joe. How many total votes?

  9. Ian P. Says:

I wanted to give him a B, but he earned a C. This team doesn’t look much better (on Sundays) than last year’s team. We just haven’t seen improvement on the field.

  10. Bucnjim Says:

I don’t know what games you’re watching, but there have been huge improvements over last year. Yes they need to be more consistant, but they play hard and have been in every single game. I think inconsistant penalty calling by the refs has caused more problems for the Bucs than anything. Until they can dominate; they’ll be the red headed step children of the NFL. You’ll never see the top tier teams get questionable penalties like we get!

  11. JBUC24 Says:

“C” at this point in my book and below is why.

    – Discipline hasn’t been on point (see penalties)

    – Making adjustments have been questioned and is a factor in our 1-3 start.

    – Inconsistancy!!

    – Not utilizing his player’s strengths although he is not the coordinator, he’s still the head coach and gets partial blame (use of Blount or lack of, Martin not used on the outside more, Freeman seems handcuffed)

I believe it’s a work in progress and I hope he uses this bye week to fix some of the things I mentioned. I have confidence in him!

  12. JBUC24 Says:

    Also,

I believe we are improved, playing these teams with last years coaching staff, we would have been blown out by the half!

Our defense comes flying out the gate and swarms the ball better too. With the exception of last week’s first half, we have tackled way better too. It’s the 2 minute drill D that is killing us! The blitzing isn’t working!!

    Joe here,

@Kennedy – Just over 900 votes at this time stamp.

  14. Miguel El Magnifico Says:

Notice the Amen Chorus has dropped into the 6th percentile. The Little General will treat the bye week like he treats halftime. Siesta time!

His tackle drills are a farce. His ridiculous fines have destroyed morale. Several key players are buried deeply into his doghouses. They simply can’t add outside talent especially on the lines because of the dreaded and unnecessary gauntlets. His shoe heel and toe theory to gains inches, has failed because they are missing by yards (36″).

His clock management skills do not exist, you can’t fix stupid. Watch when he attempts to throw a red flag for a review, he is frozen in indecision and surrounded by complete fear and incompetence.

His refusal to share the truth when discussing personnel or injuries will turn the media and fans away in droves.

Bottom line, I feel Schiano is quite pleased with himself. He has re-created the Rutger’s experience. Mediocrity at best, with zero championships ahead.

  15. Westcoastbucsfan Says:

Wanted to give a “B” but I can’t with a 1-3 record. There is an obvious improvement over the the Raheem led squad so I am happy. I hope to see more wins and more consistency going forward.

  16. Westcoastbucsfan Says:

@miguel, if Bill Cowher and Brian Billick were co-head coaches with Jon Gruden and Monti Kiffin as the coordinators you would still complain. Is there ANYTHING you like about this team? Why are you here?

  17. BucFan20 Says:

In case some people have not noticed, Coach Schiano has no problem making moves. Note players being released and new ones brought in. He has an OC and DC making calls. We know for sure players execute plays not coaches. IF they don’t look what has happened. Trueblood on the bench. Parker gone. And so on. Injuries? Are they his fault?? Freeman is a big problem on offense and he is stuck with him. But you can bet if he keeps up playing the way he has he is history after this year. 4 games in I have faith in him.

I did not expect to win a lot of games this season. Look close and you will see who is on the field almost the entire game. Everyone says put LGB in the 4th quarter and wear the other defense down. Well you can’t leave our defense on the field all game and think they will not be worn down.

The Coach himself said it would not happen in one year. But bet on it. The players that don’t get the job done this year (and he is watching close) WILL be gone. I’m sure that is OC and DC as well.

The NFL is results driven. The question is not about improvement over last year.
    1-3 = D

“@miguel, if Bill Cowher and Brian Billick were co-head coaches with Jon Gruden and Monti Kiffin as the coordinators you would still complain. Is there ANYTHING you like about this team? Why are you here?”

I personally would love Cowher or Billick as head coaches, they have a great NFL track record. I felt Gruden’s offense was too complex. Imagine how good we could have been if Gruden had hired an strong independent OC. Don’t like Kiffin, he quit on the team during the season.

I like the stadium, pirate ship, uniforms, players, NFL and cheerleaders. I like JBF and daily access to the Buc news. I don’t like Schiano and I have been honest and consistent in my opinions and posts. (grade F- .250 WP)

I have also changed my mind on GMC, Dominick and the 2012 draft picks. I have manned up and taken the abuse for changing my opinion.

    I’ve been a fan since 1975, that’s why I’m here.
