Another Game Of Inches

September 30th, 2012

These past three close games have been brutal on Joe’s stomach.

Each game has turned on a matter of inches on key plays. The leader of the New Schiano Order warned us this would happen when he explained that a “shoe” was the difference between greatness and failure.

If Dekoda Watson was a shoe or two smarter in Dallas, then he surely blocks a punt and the Bucs score, a six- or 10-point swing.( If the replacement refs weren’t distracted by shoes up their collective asses in Dallas, they wouldn’t have whistled Tony Romo’s fumble dead and cost the Bucs a scoop and score by Eric Wright.)

The photo above illustrates the “shoe” that cost the Bucs a game-turning safety today. George Johnson hammered Robert Griffin III on the six-inch line and just missed on that safety. Sadly, on the next play Mason Foster was a shoe late and committed a senseless roughing the passer penalty on RGIII in the back of the end zone.

Literally, the Bucs are inches away from being 4-0 right now. Yeah, that’s meaningless, but it sure feels miserable.

I’m frustrated with Freeman’s play like we all are, but we need to keep him as our starter. Orlovsky isn’t our future.

  2. Patrick Says:

At least for the remainder of the season.

As difficult as it is to stomach losses… it’s a lot easier than what we had to endure last year. I’ve been excited watching these games until the final seconds. A few minor things here and there and you’re right Joe, we’d be 4-0. Sure is a lot better than a NO DOUBT ABOUT IT 0-10 streak last year.

  4. BamBamBuc Says:

And a lot more fun to watch, too

  5. Drew Says:

Turn on the headlights and Freeman freezes like a Deer with glossy eyes. Don’t be surprised if you see him thrown across an opponents bumper and tied down after a Free jacking (similar to Deer Jacking). Franchise QB? LMAO and LMAO more.

He lacks the aptitude (low Wonderlic score for a QB) to be a NFL franchise QB.

  6. Eric Says:

    Could be 4-0……please.

But perhaps we can qualify for the coulda wild card.

  7. Patrick Says:

All Freeman had to do was put together ONE GOOD drive in Dallas, and we would’ve beaten them.

Hell, he couldn’t even get us into FG range there. Barth could’ve just kicked field goals with the way our defense played against the Cowboys.

Against the Giants, all he had to do was at the very least keep our offense on the field for more than 3 plays. His ineffectiveness during the 2nd half didn’t allow our defense to rest and Manning came right back against us.

Today…….Freeman played good in the 4th quarter, but yet again, this is another example of how he doesn’t show up to play the ENTIRE game.

There you go……..we could easily be 4-0.

  8. Mr. Patrick Says:

The defensive play calling on the Redskin’s last drive was the worst I’ve ever seen. Horrible formations and blitz packages. Totally on the coaches, not the players.

  9. Ladyz Says:

Freeman needs to warm the bench a little to get his attention and get his mind straight. If you heard him on the radio last week, you would have noticed how shook up he got when a caller questioned his confidence. About the last defense …. Coaches in time-out for allowing. I feel like puking.

  10. KT Says:

I’m at a loss on how today’s loss goes on Freeman? I was pleased to see the offense finally open up and throw the damn ball. You pay VJ use him. Today’s loss was the inability to stop the run. Not the trick play pass, not the should have been safety. The defense could not stop the run and to see that defensive break down on the final redskins drive to let RG3 run free? Disgraceful. But today I can’t put on freeman at all.

  11. Justin Says:

Freeman was alright today. Solid second half. For some reason I think he was struggling seeing the field with those damn shadows. At around 5:15pm half the field was bright sunlight and the other a dark shade. It’s not easy looking through that.
Bucs are close, just not there yet. But man, that was a tough tough one to stomach.

Yeah, just what the Bucs need. Dan Orlovsky to take snaps. smh.

I was ok accepting the Giants are a better team than us. I was ok accepting the Cowboys are a better team than us. I am NOT ok accepting the Redskins loss. This is 4 straight games we only played hard for a half or less. UNACCPTABLE. It is the same as last year, except last year we only showed up in the 4th quarter. This year when we show up varies. We need to show up the entire game. The worst part tho? The absolute worst part was hearing RGIII chants louder than Bucs chants and cheers

In all honesty, we would probably be 2-2 or maybe even 3-1 with orvlasky at QB. We talk about Freeman as if he’s a rookie. this guys was a first round pick 4 freakin years ago. I’d take Christian Ponder, Andy Dalton, RG3, or 10 other QB’s rather than this monstrocity of a QB.

  15. ctord Says:

Joe, misery loves company and I am bringing the beer. That being said, I would still rather have freeman than at least 50% of the qbs in this league. Btw. Everyone blaming freeman for everything shoud watch a jets game. We could have Sanchez instead. But the jets seem to win there share of games. Point is football is the ultimate team sport. Stop laying it all at Freeman’s feet. I still have not seen a back run for more than nine yards. Come on guys.

    .

His people perish for lack of knowledge…

As you figure that one out, I just want to say that there are positives and negatives with the team right now. It’s just a matter of time until the positives become the consistent norm.

  17. Miguel El Magnifico Says:

You mean to say that Redskin spies have picked up on the “shoe” secret? That means they are going to Hawaii?

The reason Freeman sucks so bad is that his coaches have filled his head with nonsense.
