Ian Beckles Arrested By St. Pete Police

September 14th, 2012

Former Bucs guard Ian Beckles often ends his radio show on WDAE-AM 620 with a message to listeners to stay out of trouble.

Well, it seems Beckles didn’t follow his own advice last night.

Beckles, who is quoted a few times a month here on the pages of JoeBucsFan.com, was arrested for disorderly intoxication at 11 p.m. by St. Pete Police, per Pinellas County court records. He was released on $100 bond from Pinellas County Jail after 3 a.m.

“Disorderly intoxication” is one of the lowest form of crime:

856.011 Disorderly intoxication. – (1)No person in the state shall be intoxicated and endanger the safety of another person or property, and no person in the state shall be intoxicated or drink any alcoholic beverage in a public place or in or upon any public conveyance and cause a public disturbance.

Beckles’ radio show starts at 9 a.m. today on WDAE-AM. If he’s on the air, he might have a darn interesting story to tell. Perhaps a relative of Barrett Ruud got in Beckles’ face and a ruckus began? Joe can only speculate.

Probably no big deal. I’d bet if he weren’t a local celebrity and any one of us he wouldn’t have been arrested. I will be listening this morning.

  2. Architek Says:

    hahahahahahaha

  3. Bucfever40 Says:

He’s still P’Od that Gerald McCoy played like a man possessed, lets face it, Ian loves to tell us how much he knows about football because after all, he played in the NFL, which I guess gives him eyes that can tell if a player either has “it”, or doesn’t, and after Ruud left, he turned his attention to GMC, and he’s been relentless in trying to let us all know that GMC is a bust, that despite what the COACHES say, which is that GMC can dominate in this league, and has when he’s been on the field! The whole bashing thing on GMC really bothers me, because that means Ian deep down, wants this man to fail, it could only etch his claim in stone.

lol seems like the former Bucs all get into trouble too

Hey Joe……..remember two days ago when you were posting a few songs on the site? I think it’d be cool if you did that daily, maybe just one or two songs a day. Just an idea 🙂

Or maybe you can do a JoeMusicFan.com haha 🙂

  5. Big Picture Guy Says:

Woop woop pull over that a** to fat, woop woop!!

  6. big007hed Says:

Beckles is a douche, I can’t stand his permanent disdain for the Bucs

  7. Buc Fan #237 Says:

So why was it okay for Beckles to trash and chase away Ruud, but it’s not okay for him to trash McCoy?

I think he shouldn’t be trashing anyone on the team.

We needed Ruud last year based on our performance. The Bucs couldn’t have afforded to replace Ruud last season.

    Same thing with McCoy now.

Stop trashing your own team’s players.

  8. Scott Says:

I had respect for this site, but after posting this bull ish on your site as major news… Get a fu$&@$& life Joe!

Dear Scott, Joe didn’t post this as major news. In fact, Joe gives all posts here the exact same attention, in case you hadn’t noticed. This will flow down the page like everything else. Ian Beckles is often quoted here off his radio show as an authority on the Bucs. It would be ridiculous if Joe didn’t report this news. Joe also predicts this site will be the only outlet to follow up and report how the case resolves. –Joe.

  9. OAR Says:

Yea, I remember when I had my first beer.

  10. Patrick Says:

    @OAR

He had a crazy game of poker and lost it all.

  11. RobertoAndrodrigo Says:

“That’s a beautiful thing!”… do us a favor and don’t post bail next time… AM radio could stand to lose a few blowhards.

  12. lightningbuc Says:

I wonder if those matching silver bracelets he wore last night matched the rest of his bling!

  13. Kirk Says:

There is nothing that could measure my indifference to anything Ian Beckles has to say or anything he does.

  14. Luther Says:

Nice reply Joe. People get bent out of shape when their favorite player or ex-player is seen in a negative light in the media. My advice is to have thick skin and realize that we all fall a little short at times. Ian rides a little high sometimes and in my view, he needed to be brought down a peg or two.

  15. Tbuc Says:

Wonder if he had any excuses this morning. I refuse to listen to their show so I wouldn’t know. Sick Of the negativity on 620.

  17. The Dutcher Journal (Pete Dutcher) Says:

I don’t care for Beckles at all, except as a human being. That said, public intoxication is not as bad as you make it out to be, Joe.

At least he wasn’t driving, right? Not knowing the circumstances, I’m not passing judgement. I really don’t like the man’s attitude and I am against drinking alcohol for personal reasons, but I don’t begrudge anyone the right unless it is around my family or unless they intend to put someone’s life in jeopardy.

  18. lightningbuc Says:

Fox Tampa Bay says he was drunk and disorderly, putting his hands on cops that were asking him to leave, and he touched a mounted patrol horse and then they cuffed him up. sounds like they gave him ample opportunity to leave, but he insisted on being a pain in the ass to the cops.

  19. Tbuc Says:

Funny how these media personalities harp on the Bucs arrest but when it happens to them they clam up.

  20. The Dutcher Journal (Pete Dutcher) Says:

lightningbuc, if that’s the case, I hope he gets a lot of flack from it. I raised my kids to respect police officers. Clearly his did not.

  21. FanOfBucs Says:

You should teach the difference of morality from legality.

  22. pacdltp Says:

another “local celebrity” from a “food network” radio show acting like a treenager just like Ron and Him do on the radio. AnothgAnother
    Another tough guy who thinks

  23. RJB Says:

I hope WDAE sees this as an opportunity to fire his ass, like they did Siloe….the show really sucks….Diaz is a joke…..it’s like a male version of The View. Come on WDAE…..wipe that crap off the dial and get a real sports talk show to replace it.
