Does Carl Nicks Really Weigh 380?

Not a bad vertical leap for the biggest man on the field[/caption]

Those who watched the Bucs-Panthers broadcast heard FOX analyst Mike Martz and his play-bay-play cohort say that the human armoire, Bucs guard Carl Nicks, weighs 380 pounds — 380 pounds!

This seemed like a bloated figure to Joe, even if Nicks is a manbeast and clearly exceeds the 349 pounds he’s listed as on the Bucs roster.

Wednesday, Nicks hopped on the digital scale in the middle of the Bucs locker room, stepped off and did a Popeye-like flex of his biceps before letting out a manly yell at Joe standing nearby.

Joe asked Nicks, “what’s the number?” and Nicks said, “I’ll never tell.”

So Joe proceeded to tell Nicks what the FOX team said about his weight. Nicks seemed a bit annoyed by the commentary and asked who the announcers were. Joe filled him in, and Nicks seemed eager for a second to tell Joe his real weight, and then Nicks told Joe he didn’t believe the announcers really said that. Joe told Nicks to watch the tape, and Nicks laughed.

So how much does Nicks weigh? It remains a mystery. Joe just hopes it’s too much, combined with too much strength, for the Giants defensive line to handle.

Well the man did say on his radio show that he has his fiancee make him a mountain of chocolate chip pancakes at least twice a month.

Good lord lets hope Carl Nicks and Donald Penn don’t start hitting the asian buffets together, might run ’em all outta business.

Damn Nicks-monster you ain’t weighing no tree fiddy!

  3. JonBuc Says:

Nicks is large…but not a “softie” aka Frank Middleton or Penn if he isn’t careful. Damn shame Joesph went down because that guard tandem was looking tough. F the pre-season I say!

  4. Sneedy16 Says:

I’m pretty sure the Bucs are going to draft at least a Guard and a Tackle in the top rounds of next years draft given the fact that they are thin at the positions.

No way he weighs 380. I’m thinking he’s right around his listed weight. I’d say somewhere around 350. The guy is huge but not 380 huge.

  6. Orlandobucfan Says:

350 or 380 that is a lot of weight to be blocking for freeman I wish joseph didn’t get injured imagine our two pro bowl guards with a combined weight of over 700 lbs of guards blocking for freeman, a qb dream.

  7. Mike J Says:

    SilenceTheCritics , I can’t see it either.

  8. Miguel Grande Says:

So what if he weighs 380, he carries it well. He doesn’t seem to have that swinging spare tire that Penn has had in past years. Dude definitely likes contact.

If Warren Sapp played OL, he would be Nicks.

We should call him the Big Nickowski. The Big Dude abides…………

  9. Have A Nice Day Says:

Nicks weighs the perfect amount of weight for himself to deservedly garner one of the largest free agent contracts of any guard in the league. Like Penn, who gives a $hit what he weighs so long as he performs?
