Final Crowd Tally — 51,533

September 9th, 2012

After the game, Aqib Talib praised the crowd and pleaded for more tickets to be sold.

The opening-day crowd of 51,533 was about 250 up on last year’s first game. Hey, it’s something.

And one would think that the bad weather around the Bay area didn’t help potential walk-up sales.

At least those in attendance this season were treated to good football, and a good overall game. And they were loud.

“The crowd was definitely good, into it, man,” Aqib Talib said. “If we can get those tickets sold, please fans, it would be so much better. We’re going to give them a show, man. Come out and check us out. We need them just as bad as they need us. The definitely helped so much.”

Joe doubts blackouts will go away anytime soon. But if somehow the Bucs can rip off wins in New York and/or Dallas, those with cash across Tampa Bay might just be inspired to see what the New Schiano Order is all about.

  3. Have A Nice Day Says:

It was loud tonight. Loudest I’ve heard since the 2010 season.

I was at this game. I saw the show with my own eyes.

Others need to see it, too. And once they do, this place will be packed again.

Finally, the Bucs appear to be back.

I was in attendance and the house was rocking. There were many open seats but overall the people there was really fired up. You could see how it affected the Panthers cadence.

I was there Talib! And those that were there were rocking! But I hear you loud and clear! It was depressing to see what our city did as a fan base today. I would never judge people that cant afford to go, but I know at least 10 people that could afford to go and did not because they would rather enjoy the comfort of their own home. To me they are not Bucs fans, they are NFL fans. Bucs fans need to unite! That place was electric today and so was the team! Support your team! They need us to take the next step tp become elite!

    Pathetic fan base.

Took a friend to the game he loved and wants to go to the next one. For the fans that did show up that place was rockin.

I’ll be there for Kansas City. I only make the 2000 mile trek south once a year but when I do I am never disappointed.

It will be my 17 month old sons first game. He will be rocking his Mark Barron jersey. Got to teach them early.

    Joe,

The Trib this morning has the attendance at 5,000 less than you have – 46,758. What’s up with that?

Agree with everyone else tho, that even though wasn’t full, at least 95% of the fans were Bucs fans for once. I dread when the Eagles and their overweight, malt liquor swilling fans come in a few months. Get out their IF YOU CAN!

  15. Bucnjim Says:

Tickets sold Vs. Butts in the seats? The crowd was into it and having a great time so that’s all that matters. Seemed like more than 46000 though

  16. Tampa2 Says:

    Joe
What is the total number we need to meet the 85%?

It’s a complete mystery since nobody knows what total number of PREMIUM tickets sold is. –Joe

The Rays were playing an important game that same day. There were more people there at the rays game than I expected there to be so I think that hurt the Bucs attendance. So it has nothing to do with having a pathetic fan base
