“I’m Impressed With Everything About Him”

One thing that’s not filled with uncertainty in the world of Aqib Talib is how his coaches feel about him.
Many weeks ago Greg Schiano was candid about how he wants Talib to be one of his Buccaneer men. And today, speaking to JoeBucsFan.com at One Buc Palace, Bucs secondary coach Ron Cooper was quick praise Talib as a model Buccaneer.
“I”m impressed with everything about him,” Cooper said. “He’s done everything that we’ve asked and I’m pleased with him. I like his attitude. The times I’ve been around him he’s done everything we’ve asked. I think he’s a solid person.”
Cooper went on to rave about Talib’s work ethic and how he practices “full speed.”
Of course, Talib’s future — personally and professionally — won’t be known for a few weeks after his pending trial in Texas. However, it’s at least clear — painfully clear for some — that the Bucs are eager to have him in the starting lineup on opening day.

Thank god they realize that Talib is a stud. Rah said he has Ronde Barber type pain tolerance. He is a shutdown corner that will allow our defense do get away with stuff we couldn’t do without him. Stay healthy Aqib and prove everyone wrong!

I must admit, I am a Talib sympathizer.
I think he can be turned around, if he beats the Texas charges.
As far as him smacking Cab Drivers up side the head, I can relate!
I flew back to Tampa, and got a Cab from Tampa Airport to Westshore, where I had my car parked.
The Cab Driver was extremely rude to me, and tried to lay a guilt trip on me about how he waited for 3 hours at Tampa Airport, and then got a crappy fare like me.
That was real stupid of the Cab Driver, because he would have got a great tip from me.
Instead, he got a small tip, that he complained about with vulgar language.
I felt like smacking him upside the head, to be honest.

I wonder why Talib has been on his best behavior lately – maybe the State of Texas looking to imprison him?
This guy is a thug, criminal – and an overrated football player.

I just don’t understand the Talib haters. In Texas its legal to wear a gun on your hip and use it to defend your family. Its not New York City!
When the convicted child molester is frog marched into court in orange jump suit, shackles and leg irons, the jury won’t buy a thing he’s selling. The jury will compare him to the multi-millionaire home town athletic hero in a $5 thousand suit, a team of heavy hitting lawyers, Aqib’s mom and sister dressed in their Sunday best, the case will be over before it starts.
The only way they prosecute this case is if the DA is running for mayor. Its only good for publicity. These cases cost a fortune to prosecute. It absolutely pointless because they can not possibly win. Juror’s love pro athletes and there’s nothing more despicable than a convicted child molester.
He once got drunk and punched a cab driver. It also wrote a big fat check to said cab driver, who hit the lottery that night. I believe he got into a fight during football practice. I’ve seen many fights on practice fields, usually the coaches stir it up and get a good chuckle about it afterward.
How does this make him a bad guy? He grew up in different circumstances than most of us but similar to Carl Crawford. Has Carl ever been in a fight? Probably, where’s his haters?
I believe he’s a bargain at CB and good enough that Dominik felt he could gamble on a safety with the 5th overall pick.

I guess you know this because you have spent so much time with him, huh? You two probably used to hang out back in the day I guess. It’s always interesting to me how someone like you can hide behind your little keyboard and pretend as if you know everything. It’s also great how you can judge the character of another man, one you have never met. I’m struggling with whose word to take on this one. On one hand, I could take the word of the coaching staff and fellow players – you know, the guys that are around him all the time. On the other, I could take the word of a know-it-all, hate everything Bucs, grouchy old man. After much thought, I’m going to have to go with option #1.

We need Talib. I want him to grow up. I hope this was the final episode. I pray the jury finds him “Not Guilty” and they throw his Momma in jail.

You are riding in the back of a cab doing, say, 50mph, across the Gandy Bridge, and what do you do vis a vi the cab driver:
(a) Ignore him.
(b) chat with him.
(c) whup him upside the head.
(d) learn how to get out of an automobile that is lying upside down on the bottom of Tampa Bay.
(e) draft another CB.
