Doug Martin At “95 Percent”

It was great to see Bucs’ first-round pick Doug Martin back on the field working hard with his running back mates today. It was the most work he’s seen yet in an OTA.
Martin, aka Muscle Hampster, has been nursing a pulled hamstring that he told Joe is now at “95 percent.”
Martin raved about running backs coach Earnest Byner after practice. “The stuff that he’s feeding us running backs, I wish I had it in high school,” Martin said.
The leader of the New Schiano Order also was pleased to see Martin back on the field. Schiano said he already can feel the “vision” of Martin. That’s the stuff you “can’t teach,” Schiano said of his possible bell cow back.

Two words that should be removed from this website ‘muscle hampster’ (Martin hates it and frankly so do I) and ‘bell cow’. (I’ve never heard the term until this year and frankly it’s annoying). Of course I know Joe will use these terms for as long as Martin is on the team. See ‘Rock Star’ and you get the drift…

Hopefully they take it slow and don’t aggrivate it more. I’d rather him learn the play book then practice and miss games in the regular season.

The term “bell cow” has been around as long as I have followed football. Surprised you haven’t heard of it till now……

Martin, aka Primary RB, will be excellent.
I think that Schiano is using Blount effectively as the lead blocker on kick return.

“Bell cow” has been around since….I can remember. And I’m 39. It’s a sport cliche. Get used to it, it’s not going anywhere, nor has it ever.

Brad, it is like saying “the lead dog”. It is typically the clear cut above the rest. “Work horse” is another one.
I 100% agree with the Muscle Hamster, it does not have a ring to it at all…it sounds a bit dirty.
