The Kellen Winslow Interview

May 21st, 2012

This morning, Kellen Winslow rocked the Tampa Bay community by informing “The Opening Drive” co-hosts Ross Tucker and Andrew Bogusch, heard exclusively on SiriusXM NFL Radio, that the Bucs informed him over the weekend his days with the Bucs are done.

The good people of SiriusXM NFL Radio have been replaying the interview periodically since it first aired. In fact, a portion of the interview was uploaded to the SiriusXM NFL Radio Facebook page.

Here is the portion of the interview where Winslow informed Tucker and Bogusch that he is, in a sense, a tight end without a team.

Joe, the link you made directly to S3 is being denied for me.

The one on the facebook page works for me though.

  2. Joe Says:

    Try again Brave. Fixed.

  3. jfgobucs Says:

How stupid not to think he didn’t need to attend OTA…New coach..new system…His fault 100%

  4. eric Says:

They tried to trade him before ota’s.

How can that be the reason?

  5. Gus Says:

Maybe it was just a flat out business decision and the team wants to move in another direction

  6. bucyea Says:

Guess PR was write after all.

  7. Patrick Says:

    “in another direction”

I can’t tell you how much I hate that phrase. It’s always of way of saying, “we don’t want to explain why we did this”.

  8. OAR Says:

    Patrick
Not really. The phrase “another direction”, in our case, would be a running attack team that needs a TE that could actually BLOCK!

  9. Eric Says:

Get rid of a good tight end that can catch for a mediocre one that can block?

    In today’s NFL?

If that’s their reason they are in way over their heads.

Tight ends have become huge ingredients in the passing game. Witness NO and ATL.

    Rediculous!
