“Everybody’s High On Him”

April 26th, 2012

With all the BS flying around everywhere about the draft and what the Bucs might do tonight, Joe keeps coming back to one piece of real information available.

Less than two weeks ago on WQYK-AM 1010, Ronde Barber said everybody at One Buc Palace is on the Morris Claiborne bandwagon. In case you missed it:

J.P. Peterson: You might bring in another [cornerback], Mo Claiborne.

Barber: We probably will.

Peterson: What do you think of him?

Barber: I don’t know. I haven’t watched any film of him. I don’t know how he plays or anything. He was actually in our [secondary] room. They did those little unofficial [predraft] visits or whatever. He’s a good kid. He looks good. He looks the part. Everybody’s high on him.

In all seriousness, outside of Barber’s take, one Joe is sure he was being candid about, what else do Bucs fans have to predict what will happen in the first round? Nothing.

If Claiborne is really better than Patrick Peterson … Lets Draft MoMo and trade him to the Cards for Peterson.

  2. Jerrjenn2 Says:

Trent Richarsdon ? Who’s that!! LOL. Relax Joe, the Bucs will be fine tonite.

  3. R Cantrell Says:

If the Bucs think Trent is a game changer then they need to trade up. Hoarding picks is so overrated. Yeah they have holes elsewhere but the chances they they draft a player that actually pans out is 50-50 or less based on most teams draft history. If you can get a stud, game changing player by giving up a 3rd rounder do it and dont think twice. Would you go back and trade up for Calvin Johnson knowing what we know now or giving up picks to move up one spot to get Suh over McCoy…ABSOLUTLEY!

  4. Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports the Bucs are trying to trade up to get Trent Richardson.
    Let’s hope not.
This draft is full of running backs, and we have a great O Line.
Tampa has lots of holes to fill, it would be nice to have more draft picks.
Maybe we can still trade down ?

I tried to go to the http://www.joeMoClaborneFan.com but it keeps sending me here??

Look they keep saying we need a dominate corner because of the Quarterbacks in the NFC South. How come the other team aren’t saying they need a dominate corner because of the Bucs and Josh Freeman?

  6. Teddy Says:

Joe, is that a Freudian slip? Didn’t you mean to say that everybody at One Buc Place is on the Mo Claiborne bandwagon?

  7. R Cantrell Says:

And to add about holding onto picks. If Kuechley begins to slip into the mid 1st round I would trade this years #2 and a future pick or 2 to move back into round 1 to get him. Superbowls are won with having stud players and Richardson and Kuechley put studs at positions in which the Bucs need. Plus it is hard to get dominant RB’s and LB’s still in thier prime via FA or trade.

I saw that article as well and they are spewing plain Crap rumors now. The only move I could see Dominik making is a lower first and a stockpile of 2nd and 3rd rounders. If we did trade up it would most likely be to trade it back down for a kings ransom of picks in the first 4 rounds. Ultimately we will stay at 5 and take best available as we always have or end up with a blockbuster deal to move down. It’s all a bunch of moves to try to entice teams to make knee-jerk reactions. All in all it should be a pretty interesting draft for the Bucs. Can’t wait to crack open a Sam Adams and see who we draft. I even made my Hellfire Texas Chili for the occassion. Go BUCS!

Joe you don’t have to publish this, and you probably already know it, but do you have the wrong name in your hyperlink? It says everyone is on the “trent richardson bandwagon” should that read claiborne?

  10. Snook Says:

I heard the Bucs might trade up with Cleveland and swap McCoy for Freeman.

  11. Capt. Tim Says:

A Sam Adams and Hellfire Chili?
Sgt. Mike, that sounds like a draft party!!

Again, far from home and Hearth- but I will find some scalding hot wings and Sam Adams to get me thru it!

  12. Capt. Tim Says:

Oh, and gotta get some nachoes!!

  13. Snook Says:

I also just heard that the Bucs will swap with Minnesota at #3 and then Minnesota will swap with Cleveland at #4 and then Cleveland will swap with Buffalo at #5. Then a bunch of circus animals will run out on stage and circle the commissioner right before he announces that Minnesota will select Los Angeles with their 1st Round pick.
