Earlier today Joe caught word from Tampa Tribune beat scribe Woody Cummings that Michael Bennett had signed his restricted free agent tender. No surprise there, as Bennett was sure to jump at the $2.7 million rather than hold out for more.
Of course, Justin “The Commish” Pawlowski, of WQYK-AM 1010, grabbed hold of Bennett right after he signed and got him on the air.
Bennett talked about how “nice” rockstar general manager has been to him, how the Bucs can’t claim their young anymore, and more. Enjoy.

Welcome back Mike. Another guy off the scrap heap and into the starting lineup. Good work Dom. I’m glad to eat crow.
Side note: Mike talked about not being allowed to talk about his role on the defense…
I wonder if this is a preview of the new “Bellicheatian Way” of non-answers and keeping our cards close to the vest that Schiano alluded to when he was first brought on?

Can we stop with the “rockstar” nonsense? I don’t think anyone thinks of Dominik as a rock star except Joe.

Hey Brian..any man that can sign V-Jax and Nicks ( two upper echelon free agent talents ) is indeed a rockstar. Or at least knows how to talk and spend like a rockstar!

I agree with you Mikenice. Bringing in two top free agents in the first 24 hrs to a team that performed like the Bucs last year had to come from some serious song and dance. Rock star applies.

While I think Clayborn and Bowers are the future at DE, Bennett would be the option to convert to LB! He could lose eight, with his frame. And he might be Fast enough.

welcome back Michael, you along with Clayborn were our best defensive players last year imo. We need all the depth we can get at DE and DT not to mention the back 7:(
