Bucs Had A Fantastic Sunday

December 18th, 2011

First, let Joe congratulate the Kansas City Chiefs for firing their third-year head coach Monday and jolting their team into an inspired victory against the previously unbeaten Green Bay Packers today.

In other developments, the Redskins and Panthers were kind enough to score victories Sunday and catapult the Bucs into a tie for the fourth-worst record in the NFL. 2012 draft position is looking brighter!

And with the Panthers win, the Bucs now sit in last place in the NFC South, which means they’re all but guaranteed to play the lowly Rams and Vikings next season, bottom-dwellers of the NFC North and NFC West. In 2012, the Bucs will play the entire NFC East and the AFC West.

In Joe’s mind, the Bucs head coaching job got a lot more attractive today.

No comment……which of course IS a comment.
And believe it or not this had me smiling!

    Merry Christmas Joe and friends!

you know what i was at the game and i had some word with every fan that had something bad to say about this team(i mean bucs fans) all i have to say if you dont like rah you dont like this team he is a part of the team just so you all know so if you dont like him then you dont like the bucs and joe this goes for you too

  3. Big Marlon B Says:

    @ ron

punctuation is your friend. give it a try some time.

  4. RichinNC Says:

ron, you sir are not smart if you really think that. If you really think that you are not smart. So really thinking like that would make one not smart and therefor they are not smart for thinking so and that goes for you ron.

Seriously you are delusional if you think that wanting a better coaching staff equals not liking the team.

  5. thibs5599 Says:

THE GUY HAS LOST 8 GAMES IN A ROW including a BLOW OUT TO THE JAGS….enough said. I like RAH i just don’t like him as the head coach right now. I loved the guy last year but if i was as bad at my job as he has been this year then i would have been fired a month ago.

  6. gotbbucs Says:

thank you for posting ron. congrats on your acceptance of a complete faiure of a season. what a loser mind set. why on earth should we accept this from a team that we all love and care about? clueless, simply clueless.

  7. Jon in Tampa Says:

Look on the bright side, Rah could run for Congress. They get paid for not doing their jobs either.

  8. Raheemstinks Says:

Capt Ron you sir are an idiot!

  9. 941-Bucs Says:

I do Love this team. That is exactly why i am so mad with Raheem and the team this year. The Bucs name deserves so much better than the product that has been on the field this year. We already had our history of being bottom dwellers. I refuse to accept them going back. I wont switch allegiance to another team anytime soon. But i will voice my opinion and frustrations when my team not only looses a game, but gets embarrassed by said teams. It’s one thing to lose a game. It’s entirely a whole other story when they are getting embarrassed multiple times in a row.

is it just me or has anyone noticed as the season has worn on, that mason foster seemingly looks a little worse each week….i know he’s a rook and it’s a long season, but sometimes a good nfl player who gets a lot of time as a rookie sort of settles into his position a bit more towards the end of the season….i have seen the exact opposite from mason foster…it seems like he knows less and less each week and is more out of position and gettting blocked out of plays the more he is out there…is this just me seeing this or what?….lately i’ve been thinking as i watch the games, that the guy doesn’t look like he has a good feel for the nfl game and his instincts are a bit off?…i know the 2 guys surrounding him are not good at all, but he seems to be beginning to play down to their level as well and looks less solid since about mid-season on….please let me know…adam from ny

ps joe-ski you really should do a little story on this my brother because mason”concrete head” foster isn’t looking too good and has really gotten the “rookie pass” from us all thus far….but maybe that should stop.

  11. adam from ny Says:

also if dom was really on the ball, he should have somehow heard or known when seattle was going to dump potential big time bust arron curry (i think that’s his name)…..a couple years back he was talked about as being the 1st pick in the draft….i know he was traded for almost next to nothing this year by pete carroll and his crew up in seattle….with our complete lack of talent accross the board in our linebacker corps, i’m surprised dom was caught sleeping on this curry guy….he seriously might have been worth a shot to upgrade the troops and he was available for almost nothing…go figure…i’m just saying – was dom caught sleeping on the job?? – we have needed LB upgrades from jump street yo!…………adam from ny

  12. adam from ny Says:

joe-ster — please put up my post i put up about arron curry and dominik please…i think it is up for your review….adam from ny

[Don't be starting stupid-ass rumors. Rah was at One Buc Palace today giving a news conference. -- Joe]

  14. BigMacAttack Says:

    Ron,
Well, I do like Rah, and have fought for Rah, ask anybody. The problem is that Rah hasn’t fought for me. I really like the guy but in reality his time is probably up. It is true that fans left these last few home games in droves, and they left early. I have never seen so much discontent in this stadium in the last 20 years, which is how long I’ve been a Buc Fan going to games at the Sombrero. Not as long as many of the Natives but I’ve hung tough with them. I was wrong and can admit it, the question is are the Glazers man enough to admit their mistakes? If they keep Dom and Rah, they need to go on a serious spending spree and take control of their investment. Over half the crowd last night was Cowboy fans and that is so embarrassing.

I think Joe and Crew, it is probably time to turn the conversation from a negative (Rah fired) and into a positive one about who the next Coach and possibly GM will be. I’d bet even money that if they offered Gruden the job, he’d take it…. again. Not that he’s the best guy, but really who is? Norv Turner looks like he may get another year. I don’t think they’ll let Andy Reid go either. Who is the best guy? Charlie Strong? Les Miles? Derrick Brooks? Shelton Quarles? Hardy Nickerson? Lane & Monti? Billick?

I really have no clue who would be best, but I’m not a Jeff Fisher fan…………………….. yet. LOL

  15. Fear The Glo Says:

I was thinking of the draft and I was all about drafting a corner or olb but im starting to think it would be a better idea to draft a stud mlb and move Foster over to strongside and finally get rid of Quincy Black.

I think Foster would be great at strongside and it would kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

  16. adam from ny Says:

any chance rah might be selling papers on sunday mornings at the intersections on dale mabry…..ya know, buy a paper from rah and notice he only has half a set of teeth and a stinkinfuss type of smell eminating from his ole’ tookie…..any chance rah can become the paperboy on gamedays by waters and dale mabry??

    adam from ny

ps….no teef and stinky tookie on rah-dog can lead to less chest bumping from the guys

  17. Nate Says:

Hey if were not going to make the playoffs might as well get a good draft pick and its looking like will have number 4!

  18. Captain Stagger Says:

Foster is a SAM, it was Rah’s genius as D Cordinator, and Dominick’s talent evaluating skills that pushed Ruud out and pushed Foster in……Brilliant!!!

  19. Patrick Says:

    http://www.buccaneers.com/

unbelievable. watch from 8:30 to 11:03

Raheem kept laughing and joking like the loss didn’t bother him one bit!

“Um…..Houston I think we stuggled a little bit. Um……I say San Fran we stuggled too.”

    Really Rah? A little bit?

  20. Raheemstinks Says:

I sit in section 233 and I have 6 tickets that cost well over 10k per year row r to be exact, I am not renewing them if rah isnt fired by tomorrow (monday), it really makes me angry when I support these idiots and I get surrounded by dallas fans and treated like crap in my own home stadium, what a great way to spend a saturday night getting heckled by cowboys fans and my wife telling me what an idiot i am giving the glazers all that money!

  21. Big Marlon B Says:

    @ adam from ny

i said the same thing about Aaron Curry a while back as well. once it was floated around that he was available, i thought it was worth at least looking into. the guy was considered by many to be the safest pick in the draft. clearly the Bucs can’t consider LB to be a strength, and i figured maybe a change of scenery, scheme, or perhaps even position (sam to mike?) could have benefited the guy. i guarantee they would’ve gotten more out of him than this years 7th round pick, which is what Oakland gave up for him.

unfortunately, this is all a moot point now.

  22. BucfaninMI Says:

Ron, are you drunk? That might be the worst post ever!

  23. Paul Says:

“if you dont like him then you dont like the bucs” – ron

    haha

  24. j lynch Says:

Probablly screw up selling papers too!!! Cliqce machine is not his best self lately he needs to get back to core beliefs coach stronger smarter faster got to get better did I miss anything???? lips smacking….

  25. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

If he isn’t fired today, then he will be with us until the end of the season..if (dare I say) next year as a lame duck. Lame duck coaches NEVER work out. So they either fire him today or immediately give him an extension.

The only coach I saw that had ANY passion on the sideline the other night was Millard. Why not let him take the reins the last 2 games.

Lake can be DC or why not Stukes? AVP can certainly handle OC for the last 2 games. He was Buffalo’s OC a few years back.

  26. Jon in Tampa Says:

For some reason, I really fear the idea of Giants firing Coughlin and us getting him. Something I just haven’t liked about him since Jags days. True he won a SB with Giants, but. . .

  27. Jon in Tampa Says:

Jeff Fisher is really interesting to me. I’m not so worried about the coach’s history as I am about the future. He might be the right fit for the team’s needs and the Glazer’s wallet. Plus, he could be reunited with the two recent mistakes. . . Haynesworth and Blount.

  28. chiodo08 Says:

adam from ny…welcome to the dope show…I challenge anyone to find a player on this team with a wunderlich over 10…seriously, just listen to them

  29. chiodo08 Says:

raheemstinks I feel for you…I have been saying this all year…there is nothing worth your money and VALUABLE time in that stadium…bail out, enjoy your rare day off in the most beautiful weather of the year in Florida…trust me, out of sight out of mind. It gets real easy after a while…

  30. Pete Dutcher Says:

People know I’m a Raheem supporter. I would love for him to get new coordinators and stick around.

But even I have to admit things have slid too far downhill for him to survive this. Thanks to a certain number of Tampa fans and a manipulative media, I don’t see how the Glazers cannot fire Morris.

    I disagree with most…
I think he is a great head coach.

I think we have a lot more talent on this team than people are claiming. A year ago, almost everyone felt the same. It’s been a bad year, but there are a LOT of environmental contributions to the reasons for the year we’ve seen.

I agree Olsen has to go.

I agree Morris should be fired as defensive coordinator, but not as head coach.

I also see that my voice matters little, even though I purchased a ticket to every home game this year (and once even though my gas got turned off) whereas most of the complaining people on this board (yes, including you, Thomas) have probably bought no tickets. And I did not buy second hand tickets, I paid full price for first-hand tickets in order to contribute toward the effort to prevent blackouts…I KNOW certain individuals here did not do that.

My grasp of the situation is this…

    1) We have a very young team.

    2) We have a young, inexperienced coach.

    3) Both have been growing along with each other.
Our Quarterback did not have the benefit of study in the off season. The year before, he spent a lot of time in the off season studying tape and working hard. Because of the lockout, he could not do that this year and his game suffered.

    4) Neither could the other players.

    5) Entirely too many expectations were placed on this team, which regardless of what thomas and certain others state, was truly in year 2 of a rebuild. The first year had very little to contribute and Raheem wasn’t even given much power until the first season was shot.

    6) The team is wounded and hemoraging, yes, but a solid off-season can fix it. Bringing in a good C2 DC and a good OC would solve much of the issues.

    7) The league has made it vert hard on Cover 2 defenses. No more bump and run, among other things. Defensive linemen are afraid to hit quarterbacks because they might get suspended or fined…or both. The new rules say one thing, our commisioner does another.

    8) On almost every game, I have seen opposing teams get buy with the very same things the Bucs are penalized for. There is a double standard out there.

Even that first touchdown on Sunday was a sham.

  31. Pete Dutcher Says:

Oh yeah…and I think Dominick is a top-of-the-line GM. Anyone that says otherwise is an idiot.

  32. Patrick Says:

@Pete Dutcher…….he threw millions down the drain on Clayton and Black!! That alone means he’s not a top of the line GM. He bought into Claytons whining about how Gruden was the reason for his failures! And then we found out who was right. we saw how that worked out. Please.

He’s better than Bruce Allen definitely but he’s nothing great at all. Grossly overrated as a GM. He’s the one that put together this pop Warner squad we currently have.

  33. Eric Says:

    Jeff Fischer welcome to Tampa

  34. Bobby Says:

@Pete Dutcher….I’ve been a Raheem fan too but after this last game….I think they need to fire the entire coaching staff and bring in someone who is a complete disciplinarian as HC and let him put a staff together. These young players need someone who will scare the hell out of them. I think Raheem will do fine with a team that has veteran presence but this team has nearly zero. They just seem lost and unable to right the ship. We have been inept on both sides of the ball. Out LB’s may be the worst in the league and the DB’s are in the same category. The fact that Jones is still playing…that alone makes me want a change in coaches. He absolutely sucks and why we are not giving Ahmad Black valuable experience is beyond me. How could Black possibly perform any worse??? I like Raheem but I have come to believe that this team will not perform for a ‘players coach’. They need a coach that will be a complete a-hole but make them perform.
