Gameday Tampa Bay

December 17th, 2011

Cowboys at Bucs

Kickoff: 8 p.m.

TV: NFL Network. Also, for those sorry individuals/women who do not have the NFL Network, the game will be streamed live on NFL.com.

Radio: Buccaneers Radio Network (in Tampa WFUS-FM, 103.5 and WDAE-AM, 620); Sirius Channel 93.

Weather: Per Accuweather.com, sweatshirt weather. Still hard for Joe to believe at night in December one only needs a sweatshirt or a light jacket but this is such a game. Temperature at kickoff will be 67 and won’t fall much farther, with a projected temperature of 65 at game’s end, all under partly cloudy skies.

Odds: Per Sportsbook.com, Bucs +7.

Outlook: Is this the last time Bucs fans see embattled coach Raheem Morris walking the sidelines at the football stadium on Dale Mabry Highway? Morris is certainly on thin ice as Bucs coach, very thin ice and seemingly the only way of saving his skin is if the Bucs win a game or two in the remaining three weeks. Problem is, one of those games, tonight, the Bucs are playing a team fighting for its playoff life. The Cowboys are a damned good team and somehow have choked away three wins this season late in the game, twice the past two weeks. For the Bucs to somehow keep the game close in the fourth quarter, the Bucs will somehow have to stop Felix Jones. As we all know, that’s not likely to change the way the Bucs defense is giving up chunks of yards on the ground. If the Bucs get blown out (again), it could get very, very ugly tonight as Bucs fans have had all day to get lubricated. If the Bucs (Donald Penn) can keep DeMarcus Ware off of Josh Freeman’s back, the Bucs may have a prayer.

Video: The good people of the NFL Network have a game preview. … and NFL Films looks at the game in their own unique way.

I hate Time Warner, I don’t know why they can’t just get it.

  5. RastaMon Says:

I think Brighthouse may be in low definition….Ch 1006
    Tampa Bay area

  6. Joe Says:

Brighthouse will have the game tonight

Out House does not have the NFL Network.

  7. Andrew Says:

Yes but the game will be televised locally, on brighthouse also without having the NFL network

  8. Bucsfansince1997 Says:

The Bucs will probably win because nothing in the NFL is worse than Tony Romo in December.

  9. RichinNC Says:

Up here in eastern North Carolina Charter Cable( that is right a cable company) juts added the NFL network and Redzone. Time Warner is still too busy trying to pay off( lobby) government officials to stop cities like Wilson, NC from creating their own cheaper and faster internet service too see that adding that channel might make people get them instead of the alternative.

I have Direct TV because I live in Time Warner’s area.

  10. Thomas 2.2.. Says:

If the Bucs are losing at halftime, is it possible that rah gets ripped out of the locker room or off of the sidelines in the 2nd half. If so, it will be worth watching.

  11. RastaMon Says:

I watched Manatee HS State Championship game in HD last night……NFL on Brighthouse tonight in LD

  12. justin Says:

ya it says channel 1006 hd on brighthouse tonight and channel 6 for non hd channel 15 pasco county

  13. Apple Roof Cleaning Says:

Unfortunately, Tampa is probably going to win this game.
We are sold out at home, on national TV, and this is our “Super Bowl”.
Tampa will rally around their coach, knowing that if he is gone, maybe some of them will be too. Plus, they don’t want to learn a new playbook/system, so they will rally.

  14. Macabee Says:

I have Verizon FIOS and you will have a choice. WTTA channel 14 or channel 514HD or NFLNETWORK channel 88 or 588HD. GO BUCS!

  15. RastaMon Says:

I quite frankly enjoy bright house. They show great support for the community. I tried to get verizon to sponsor a charity event I was running and had no luck. I asked bright house to do and they stepped up. I’ll trade no NFL channel for a company that gives back to the community any day.

  22. BKNYfootballhead Says:

    I agree David,
Bright House and the few other U.S. cable providers are the cornerstone of humanity; true pillars of decency.

I predict a win if Blount has a 3 TD game and Freeman throws less than 4 INT. If this doesn’t happen, I’ll just have to relish seeing Tony Romo’s smile with his cap flipped backwards. God, I love that Tony Romo.

    …Tony Romo

    …Tony Romo

    …Tony Romo

Sorry, just getting everybody warmed up.

  23. Patrick Says:

I’m actually pretty excited about this game. If Donald Penn can shut down Ware, and Blount can get plenty of carries, I think we have a chance.

@JOE………..is Price gonna play tonight? If he does, then that’ll help too.

  24. Apple Roof Cleaning Says:

@Eric, good post ! I hope we bring Albert back next year.
Our house is FULL of Brisket Eating Cowboy Fans, who came to Tampa to watch their team win.
I see Talib having a big game, and I see a Tampa win.
Though it may keep Raheem’s job, and screw us up in the draft, I am sick of us losing. I smell upset tonight.

  25. Joe Says:

    Patrick:

Price is on the active roster.

  26. GenocideD Says:

Wow, what a shocker. Another fumble…

  27. Patrick Says:

Tip: never get your hopes up. They always blow it.
