Jeff Faine Blasts Teammates For Turnovers

December 11th, 2011

Bucs center Jeff Faine was one irritated dude when he was caught for a brief interview on the Bucs radio network immediately after the embarrassing performance in Jacksonville this afternoon.

In short, Faine took his teammates to task for the myriad of turnovers — SEVEN! — that were committed today.

“There’s no way possible for this team to win with seven turnovers. It’s just impossible. This is the NFL. Nobody can overcome that. We’re just not playing fundamental football which Coach Morris just told the team and that is on the players. As players, we have to play better.

“The gameplan was to run and exploit on the play action and that is what we were doing. It was working. Where we came into a problem, a fork in the road, was stubbing our own foot and we couldn’t stay on track. That has been the story of the season so far.

“At 14-0 in the first quarter, I’m calling for a blowout. Have some fun with it. But we diverted on that path.

“The Jaguars, we have to give them their props, we have to give them their due. But if we don’t kill ourselves, it’s a different ballgame and that is what gave them momentum. It made it a totally different game.

“There’s a lot to play for to end this season on an upswing. We can’t just flip a switch and be a football team next year just because we finish strong. We just have to focus on the fundamentals and play smart football.”

Since when does a 3-8 team deserve their “due” how about the Bucs just suck and it was an easy day for Jacksonville. They had nothing! We had even less!

penn looked terrible wonder what faine said to him……nothing prolly

  8. Teddy Says:

I hate looking at mock drafts in December. However, it’s time.

They need a speed WR, a 2nd RB, a pair of linebackers and upgrades all across the defensive backfield (not necessarily in that order). I’d hate to think that we’ll be drafting highly enough to be able to pick Justin Blackmon, but that would be a good start.

  9. McBuc Says:

Teddy, I do not know, the Bucs may not win another game this year. He may still be there…

  10. j lynch Says:

Faine should shut up he is a captain right? What does he think they wont waive his overpriced injured a$$ too???

  11. Mr Lucky Says:

The only turnover I want to see is the turnover at the head coach position

    @ rapheal

Penn did play like crap i wonder got in to him today, the dude dominates in the beginning of the year against guys who could possibly make it into the hall of fame and he plays like garbage against no name MINCEY, I think it has more to do with just being a buc right now not that fun.

Faine is a slob and would love to see him go but enough of sticking up for morris, the players like him and they know there safe with him so they stick up for him. They do not want a new coach to come in and clean house of all the bums we have so they can go shove it along with morris time for a new coach TODAY WAS PATHETIC

On top of that we got dallas on NFL network saturday night next week hope we get blown out by 50 and raheem gets fired while on the sidelines. I have had enough of the is it his fault or not yada yada yada we won 10 games last year against the NFC WEST, the lock out came it crushed us as a young team, then raheem doesnt know how to coach coupled with the lockout and a moron of a OC it ruined this team. I flicked around to other games so i didnt see the whole thing. BUT CAN SOMEONE TELL ME IF FREEMAN ATTEMPTED A PASS MORE THAN 20 YARDS AND IF SO HOW MANY TIMES, because from what i saw i saw 0 and haven’t seen many in weeks. besides JJ last week

  14. B.D Says:

this team is so bad, I want to wear a plastic bag over my head!

  15. Buc You Raheem Says:

Fire Raheem now so he doesn’t get the chance to win another game and resurect the sheep.

  16. Patrick Says:

We need to draft a CB and LB with our first two picks. Then we need to sign two more LB’s (one to start, one for depth) and a CB through free agency. Sign DeSean Jackson, we need a speedy deep threat that actually scares people. We need a running back to pair with Blount. Sign a veteran DT or two for insurance because McCoy and Price can’t stay healthy. Sign a backup safety to backup Grimm and Jackson.

  17. sandbagrudy Says:

Maybe Tim Tebow can bring Jesus with him to Tampa I heard he played both sides of the ball and didn’t muff punts

  18. Thomas 2.2.. Says:

Raheem Morris just said that the entire problem is: Brian Price. Rah tried to send him home again but then realized they were in Jax.

  19. macabee Says:

Thomas 2.2, you’re making jokes! You must be happy about something! lol.

  20. Tampa2 Says:

Raheem said that he was going to dumb down the defense this week. well, just when we thought the defense was pretty dumb already, Morris took the defense to a new lower level, the abyss.
