Freeman Hurt … On The Field

November 30th, 2011

With gungate/thumbgate now in Josh Freeman’s rearview mirror and on the list of stupid things he’ll do in his early 20s, now comes word that Freeman injured his shoulder in Tennessee.

Per the Bucs’ official Twitter feed, his practice activities were limited today.

@TBBuccaneers – Coach Morris says QB Josh Freeman hurt his shoulder in the Tennessee game and is day-to-day. He was limited in practice today.

Per the Twitterings of St. Pete Times beat writer Rick Stroud and PewterReport.com, Freeman did not throw in practice and was hurt on the botched 4th-and-1 where was the damn measurement that ended the Bucs’ hopes in Tennessee.

This is bad news for the Bucs’ losing streak, though Joe would be surprised if Freeman doesn’t play Sunday.

If Josh Johnson gets the start, it’ll be a very interesting second chance for him before his foray into free agency after the season.

Good excuse to bench Freeman. Go JJ!

Not looking good at all, now.

I agree with a Johnson start, not because I don’t still believe Freeman is our future, but why risk his shoulder in a lost season.

Joe any more good news today LOL.? I remember J J’s last go round at starting. Raheems seat is getting hotter.

How great would it be to watch him blow up with 300 yards in the air and 75 or so on the ground kinda game, beat Newton at his own game and set the messageboards on fire……oh the insanity that will occur……bring on the contreversy!!!!!!

Knowing how clever this org can be I predict:

They bench Freeman under an injury excuse because they are concerned if they lose to Carolina at home (which is looking more likely) they/Rah Rah has an excuse. If they lose to Carolina at home with Free playing the vultures will really be swarming around Rah.

I know some guys who astutely analyze NFL games who predict this Bucs-Panthers game to be a high-scoring affair that if the Panthers fully commit to the run with Newton and the RBs, that the Bucs may need close to 40 points to win.
Thankfully the Panthers D stinks but nowhere near as bad as ours.

    JJ starting is interesting.

I agree with the poster who said that there is no point risking Free in what is now a lost season.

I also think that the plays JJ can make with his feet will offer something different to our offence, and will hopefully his movement will limit the need for 150 yards of damn holding penalties.

I got a feeling Carolina is going to stomp a mud hole in this teams ass. Williams and Steward are healthy. this two back combination exposed exactly who the Buccaneers have been for the last four years on monday night football. The Buccaneers were 9 and 3 at the point and had already printed out playoff tickets. now sprinkle in a Quaterback who runs like the wind and throws his receivers open how the hell are they going to stop this

Look for us to be down by at least two touchdowns early in the 2nd quarter and abandon Blount entirely, no matter who starts. At least with JJ we’ll have something resembling a dual threat. I think the ’09 season is irrelevant. My hope is that JJ has not participated in this mass group meltdown from coach to punter.

josh has one of the best excuses in nfl history.

raheem morris is his head coach.

smells like a bunch of bs to me…..jobs are on the line…people are starting to squirm at one buc and jj is in the line up save a lot of asses in the end… win, lose, or draw….jj is a safety net for a lot of people….if freeman loses to cam that would be bad as his ego is already completely rocked…there isn’t an ounce of swag left in freebird, while cam practically struts and boogies on the ballfield the way john travolta rocked the dance floor in saturday night fever….i personally think the staff has fear that freeman will freeze up this week vs. as dione sanders would say “CAAAAM”….once cam starts struting at ray jay, the only thing the bucs have to fall back on is that jj is a scrub….the fans night turn on the team in a heartbeat this weekend and the upper decks will be a ghost town…adam from ny
