Bucs Defense Was Lit Up

October 10th, 2011

It was simply ugly. There was no sugarcoating this. The Bucs’ thrashing at the hands of the 49ers was both frightening and eye-opening.

The Bucs entered the game with statistically one of the better defenses in the NFL. It left the game like an Iranian political prisoner who was sentenced to a lashing.

It was like Alabama beating up Florida. It was like a high school team whipping a grade school team.

Damin Esper of the Tampa Tribune documents how brutal of a game this was.

San Francisco won the opening toss and deferred. When the 49ers got the ball, they went 50 yards in four plays – three of them completed passes by Smith – for the touchdown to Walker. That was a harbinger of things to come as the 49ers scored again and again and again.

San Francisco scored on seven of 11 possessions, punting once, fumbling once and ran out the clock twice. Seven 49ers receivers caught passes and six caught multiple passes. Tampa Bay missed countless tackles, allowing small plays to become big plays.

This was simply unacceptable for an NFL team. Joe is unsettled, however, about the immediate future of the defense given the fact Gerald McCoy returning for the Saints game is wishful thinking.

Raheem Morris is a defensive guy and the defensive coordinator. Joe is confident he should be able to right this ship eventually. But given a handful of days to come up with a plan to stop Drew Brees after yesterday’s debacle, well, Joe is frightened.

That picture is terrible and frightening–please remove it.

  2. Mauha Deeb Says:

@Anthony Why is it frightening? Is it threatening you?

I’m with you, Joe. Great coaches rarely have games like this. Lets hope this is the last one of the season.

  3. Mauha Deeb Says:

Seals are a super food and clothing source for many humans that live in the Northern regions. How is life, food, and clothing a “terrible and frightening thing? I’m guessing you eat meat. How do you think all those burgers are made?

  4. Zander Says:

Quit being such a whiny liberal, Anthony. The picture is used as an illustration and not an endorsement of the practice.

  5. Travis Says:

I agree with Anthony, that picture is disturbing. We all know that animals are killed so we eat them, but does that mean I need to see pictures of animals being killed? nope. This is disturbing ditch the picture quick before it becomes a problem Joe.

  6. Mauha Deeb Says:

Wow. The absolute blinders people put on themselves is amazing. People have no problem seeing the real pictures of people being executed from Vietnam in movie after movie, but a picture even insinuating a seal being killed is waaaay too much for waaaay too many.

Do me a favor and stop eating meat. Become vegetarians if the mere idea of an animal casualty is too hard on you. It will help me immensely by dropping the demand for meat thereby dropping its price.

Some people don’t mind taking the fruit but don’t want to do,see, or even think about the labor. Pathetic.

  7. TAC Says:

Haha, Travis is going to call PETA on you Joe. Call PETA, Call PETA.

Hey, did you know they eat dogs in China? Wonder how they kill them, maybe they don’t, just miraculously happens. Everything is just so clean, andstore bought in your world, eh Travis?

  8. TAC Says:

He or she is no doubt sitting on, or wearing some form of animal hide also. Stylin’, and profilin’ in their own made up clean little world.

Makes me laugh MD, and feel sorry for them at the same time with their denial of reality.

  9. OrbeaRider66 Says:

Meat eater here (plus I use other products that come from animals) and have no problem with it. However, I don’t need to see a picture of a *wild* animal (looking to be in pain) trying to get free as it is about to be bludgeoned to death. There are far more humane ways to kill an animal other than beating it to death with a club. And, FWIW … I hate PETA so please don’t mistake me for some animal rights nut job.

You can call me hypocritical all you want but it is a personal preference. Plus, MD … I could care less what a Dune character thinks about me.

  10. Eric Says:

A baby seal walks into a bar.

The bartender says,”What will I get ya?”

The seal says, “Anything but a Canadian Club!”

  11. Capt.Tim Says:

Eric- lmao. There probably are more humane ways to kill animals. There are also worse.

When I go hunting, you always look for the ” clean shot” that brings instant death. But it doesn’t always happen. Ihave spent hours tracking mortally wounded animals. Not what you want, but it happens. I make no apologies. I do my own “dirtywork”. And can provide meat on the table in any circumstance. Go to slaughterhouse. That soon to to be steak has hooks in in hamstrings, is yanked in the air, and is being skinned and gutted before outages it’s last breathe. Life’s tough. Go to a vet hospital- see what men to do each other. You’d beg to be clubbed to death!

And the photo is very appropriate for the helpless beating we took yesterday.you could actully feel our lil rookies growing up, each time they got ” the club”

Bet they work hard to keep that from happening again!!

  12. Travis Says:

Hey why dont we get a picture of a guy taking a dildo in the a$$ since we got “raped out there too? WHAT IT HAPPENS?! lets not make a big deal about it!?
Give me a break Muahaha Debra or whatever you call yourself. If you like seeing animals get beat with a club your a sick individual.

  13. digitalone Says:

take the pic down. Seriously wtf

  14. Mauha Deeb Says:

@Travis You can call me sick all you want, but don’t forget to thank every heartless man like me for putting burgers and chicken on your plate week after week because you are to timid to do it for yourself.

Some people are hunters and some people are farmers. You are neither. You just eat the food then complain about it got to the table.

Enjoy your meal but please stop biting the hand that feeds you! It is getting tiresome feeding all you snippy little fairies.

  15. Travis Says:

    Dear Debra.

Let me start off by apologizing that your IQ was not high enough to become educated and instead had to become a butcher.

Secondly, lets not classify “the bucs getting lit up” with animal cruelty, thats absurd. In no way, shape, or form is animal cruelty the same as killing a cow to make beef patties for McDonalds.

  16. Mauha Deeb Says:

@Travis Nice try. You still eat the food guys like myself(not a butcher but I do kill my own food) provide you. Your welcome.

Apparently you have not ever seen how cows are killed in slaughter houses.

I know the truth is a scary thing for you, but you’ll get used to it in time.

  17. Oahubuc Says:

Travis: Butcher is a good, honest trade that takes a lot of training and knowledge to perform well. Talk to one sometime instead of looking down your nose at working people. Tradespeople don’t just walk into the trades.

  18. eric Says:

He may have just cut off his little flippers and tossed him back in……………………..

  19. RichinNC Says:

The 49ers defense tackled. Tampa did not. They tried to hit people down. the 49ers swarmed to the ball too. Tampa did not.

They took a hit to groin and a punch in the mouth but hopefully build off of it and maybe start doing the basics like using arms, wrapping people up and swarming to the ball.

  20. Capt.Tim Says:

I hear Harp seal is delicious! Especially the lil ones! Where’s my Canadian Club!

  21. Paul Says:

They don’t club them for food you morons.

  22. Mauha Deeb Says:

Paul, I don’t believe you did even the most minor amount of research before writing that falsity. Seal is a food source for many. It is the perfect food source for cold weather living.

There you go, buddy. Now, go tell your parents what you learned today.

  23. Capt.Tim Says:

    Paul.
Buddy, I’m 6’4″+, and 320lbs. Everything is food that isn’t classified as Human. Even Humanoid isn’t safe, as I’ve had some yummy Chimp Stew in my time! Woulda been better with a lil harp seal thrown in, though . .

  24. Mauha Deeb Says:

@Capt Tim lmao “chimp stew”. Seal is delicious. fatty as hell and delicious.
