“Brian Price Looked Good”

July 26th, 2011

One stunner from Mark Dominik’s news conference today, especially for Joe who talked to Brian Price in Bradenton last month, was Dominik saying that Price “looked good” today at the facility.

Dominik clearly was speaking in the context of Price’s health, not regarding his threads or tattoos.

Joe’s hopeful, but hardly about to count on Price and his return from a freakish, serious injury. In case you missed it, here’s a late-June interview with Price from JoeBucsFan TV:

That is a little surprising, especially since Mark D, for the most part, is pretty forthcoming, unlike some GMs.

He could not possibly be talking about Price’s physical apppearance. he looked SEVERAL pounds over weight in June.

  2. woo Says:

He was referring to his ability to move, etc. not his conditioning/weight when he said he looked good. He specifically mentioned that he needed to get in shape but that he didn’t expect him to be on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list. If that holds true, that’s great news.

  3. TopDoggie Says:

I’ve been so sick it makes one depressed. With football back I’m so happy I feel cured. I’m stoked lets have a game tommorow damit.

  4. Pete Dutcher Says:

Quick question…did they shorten the Injured Reserve requirement that they were discussing?

  5. BucFan941 Says:

he looked fat when i talked to him..but we will see on sunday..when i will go to camp

  6. MOBucs Says:

It always seemed to me that if he had started running and was Zumba dancing, then he must be pretty far along in the healing process. Whether or not his surgically repaired pelvis holds up througout the course of the season is the question.

Don’t assume anything unless you actually listened to the interview. Dominik made it crystal clear he was saying Price looked good in the area of health and movement, while at the same time saying he needed to lose some weight and get back into football shape. He stated clearly that Price will NOT start the season on the PUP list but would be on the active roster.

  9. Capt.Tim Says:

If price can play would be a great, and unexpected, surprise! That would be great

  10. Eric Says:

Actually got a call today from the bucs asking how i enjoyed my tickets last year.

Nice enough guy. Never recall a similar call in the past.

Must be trying to break the blackout streak.

  11. FLBoyInDallas Says:

They dialed the wrong number. They were trying to reach a Bucs fan. Got it mixed up with the haters list, apparently.

  12. Mauha Deeb Says:

The last footballer I can think of that had a hip injury similar to Price’s was Bo Jackson. His hip injury removed him from the game forever. I hope price isn’t in that boat.
Price is certainly looking “fatter than hell” lately. He is in anything but football shape.
I’m not a Thomas type of guy, but I am already calling Price an injury bust. Sucks to say, but there is everything against Price and nothing for him. He looked terrible at the J-Free OTAs.

  13. McBuc Says:

Bo had an injury 25 years agao, give or take. Nedical science has come a long way since those days.

  14. Eric Says:

Yeah, so far that they blew the diagnosis on Price to begin with……………………….
