i like the curve ball with the non buccaneer free agents i would realy like to have Nnamdia Asomugha.. But i think for sure Davin because give freeman time and you cant beat us. The longer this Lock out lasts makes Ruud much more valuable i wouldnt be surprised if they franchised him for one more year

  2. Apple Roof Cleaning Says:

Yes, this lockout is playing right into Ruud’s hands.
I don’t think Tampa has seen the best from Davin Joseph yet, and we need to re sign him.

  3. Pete Dutcher Says:

I should have voted Joseph, but I didn’t read the list all the way through. I saw Asomugha and went right for it, lol.

The Bucs have been telling us for years that they were going on the cheap so they could resign their own players.

It’s time to pay up or shut up.

  4. Capt.Tim Says:

Davin Joseph us a great guy and a good player. Not a great player. He, like Trueblood, never lived up to their high draft pick status. Both have underachiever, and shouldn’t be starters next year. Remember- it was Derek Hardman, playing RG, that manhandled Suh last year. Jisheng struggles in pass protection, and always has. Resign him cheap, then sit him.

Id very much like to see Asomugha in a Bucs uniform this year but if I can only pick one, the answer is easily Davin Joseph. Hardman played better than could be asked but there is no replacement for the man beast that is DV. Id also put Cadi and Ray Edwards (or another vet DE) in front of Asomugha. Anyone who puts him first is seeking fool’s gold.

  6. Dave Says:

People need to get over Nnamdi, they are not going to go after him.
Joseph is number 1 priority followed by Ruud then Trueblood. They have said protecting Freeman is the main thing. Ruud simply because he is the D’s QB, but if he goes, so be it. I think McKenzie will step up and Foster will be on the outside and a MLB backup.

As far as CB, they are set. They have Ronde this year with Talib for at least 12 games. Possible he gets 4 games, but I doubt it. With his trial now in March, odds are the NFL let’s it play out. Plus Biggers did pretty well and Lewis should be ready to step up this year. Then they have Gaitor taking the job from Mack.

Quite honestly, with as high on Biggers and Lewis as they seem, I do not see them going after a CB at all.

I think they go after Black only if Ruud goes for bigger money. I also thnk they want Caddy back but I do not see him coming back if someone offers him alot more than the Bucs will. I guess that depends on Huggins and how much they think Blount can pick up a blitz. Of course they have Graham if he can’t. Unfortunately it appears to be either Graham OR Caddy at this point.

Now that I think about….. alot of questions, I am sure for a lot of teams. Going to be almost a crapshoot in Free Agency since they had absolutely no offseason to evaluate anyone.

Can’t wait until Thursday – Friday when (fingers crossed) they reach a deal!!

  7. espo Says:

    Well put Dave.

  8. K2theSoldier Says:

You’d put Ray Edwards over Nnamdi? You kidding? Ray Edwards isn’t even a thought in the Bucs minds, I can guarantee that coach Rah is pushing for NA in his precious secondary.

  9. PWNASAURUS Says:

WIth all the Bigger MORE PHYSICAL linebackers including the new leader on D TMAC, Ruud is outta here and thank goodness. Couldn’t stand to watch him pitter patter and dive outta the way one more time. Guy plays to not get injured first.

  10. BigMacAttack Says:

I’m sure it was Capt Tim that pushed the Nnamdi button with me, but I hope they can keep Cadi. Davin as well, but I’d put Cadi at the top of our own keepers.

  11. barton1017 Says:

i would love to NA in a Bucs uni, but Free needs protection more. with the pass rush being improved it should take some pressure off our DBs, NA would be nice but not a total need. i love the path this team is on. is it possible we get NA, Davin, and Trueblood? a guy can only hope. Happy Birthday America!!!!!!

  12. Patrick Says:

I have to agree with Joe, we haven’t seen the best of Black yet.

We need to keep Joseph, Cadillac, Ruud, and Black. All of those guys contribute to the team in someway.

I voted Joseph not Asomougha but I don’t think we should rule out signing him at all. Even if Talib comes back this year, it may be for only ONE year guys and then he could be in the slammer for 20 years. But even if he does come back for good, we’re going to probably need another CB when Barber retires. That’s where Nnamdi comes in. He and Talib can start, and Biggers and Lewis can provide quality depth.
