“The Youth Is Catching Up A Little Bit”

December 5th, 2010

It seems Bucs color analyst Dave Moore was as sickened as Joe was by Quincy Black’s late 15-yard horsecollar penalty, as Falcons running back Michael Turner was heading toward the sideline and seemingly a small gain.

“Let’em go,” a frustrated Moore said after the game.

Three plays later the Falcons were in the end zone.

“The youth is catching up a little bit,” Moore said of the Bucs’ nine penalties.

The Bucs are going to be kicking themselves tomorrow looking at film. The Falcons were 7-of-12 on third down, and Tampa Bay just tanked Eric Weems’ kickoff return for a touchdown.

Moore, a longtime special teams player for the Bucs, said it’s much easier to accept a great return but he didn’t put Weems’ game-changer in that category.

“This was just guys missing tackles,” Moore said.

Joe still can’t believe Maurice Stovall missed that sideline tackle that would have put the Falcons on their own 26 instead of in the end zone.

It looked to me like Black did let go. The reason Turner went over backwards was he got hit by Ruud at the same time Black let go. You could see Blacks hand out of the shoulder pads by then.

Horrible tackling on the return, but it shouldn’t have come to that. We had other opportunities earlier that we failed to capitalize on.

I can believe the ref missed the int call that hit the ground. That ball hit the damn ground.

Can’t leave the game in the ref’s hands. Gotta win the game earlier. Either the kick return or missed INTs or something. They played well, especially for a bunch of young guys. Especially for not having Talib for most of the game or an even more make-shift O-line. If they clean things up in the off-season and add more talent, they could be scary good next year. No one will be talking about losing to +.500 teams then.

“Scary good” must be the precursor to the dynasty.

3rd and 20? stovall not knocking the dirty bird out of bounds? 2…3 plays a game costs you. this one hurt real bad. they play hard every week and I love watching these “kids” grow up. had you on your feet screaming at the monitor all night! go bucs. xoxo

    Hey, look who’s back…. it’s eric. How’ve ya been?

I’m guessing you think they’ll regress next year? That they won’t be as good or better than they are now? That they won’t be able to make a game out of it against legitimate playoff contenders? If I remember correctly, you were the one who said Raheem Morris would NEVER be able to coach the team to the 9-7 record Gruden had his last year. Well, we’ve still got 5 games to go, and only need 2 wins to achieve the impossible in your book.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. This will be Stovall’s last year as a Buc.

How sad of a person do you have to be to come onto a Bucs website after a loss and gloat over the fact that we lost? How pathetic is your life Eric? Did you get picked on a lot as a kid or something? I’m going to take a stab at it and say you weren’t Mr. Popular Super Athlete in school.
