THE PESSIMIST: Let’s See The Entertainment

November 11th, 2010

We’re entertainers. We’re in the entertainment business.” — Raheem Morris

THE PESSIMIST is a diehard Bucs fan whose negative writings appear occasionally on JoeBucsFan.com. His views surely do not necessarily reflect those of Joe. However, Joe sure gets a kick out of them.

The head coach has busted out this entertainment line and philosophy oh so many times. Every time it makes THE PESSIMIST laugh, but for the wrong reasons. He did it again yesterday.

THE PESSIMIST would love to see Raheem Morris dance and sing, maybe even tell a few dirty jokes because the Bucs play at home needs a helluva lot more entertertainment value. It’s been anything but worth watching.

THE PESSIMIST feels like he’s gotten nowhere near his money’s worth buying tickets these last two years. It’s sickening.

THE PESSIMIST is here to tell Raheem Morris that it’s not good enough to squeak out a win Sunday against the heinous Panthers. Carolina is the worst team in the NFL and on a downward slide. The Panthers suck at 1-7. Jimmy freakin’ Clausen is starting on Sunday. Dan Conner is gone, and DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart aren’t practicing because of injury.

The Bucs need style points Sunday. They need to pound the crap out of Carolina. There will be nothing entertaining about another fourth quarter comeback against this crap team. Nothing.

Good teams on the rise clobber crap teams at home, especially the ones with loads of injuries, rookie quarterbacks, a coach on the hotseat and that have probably given up on the season.

There are no more excuses. If they’re entertainers, then Sunday is the easiest stage they’ll get the rest of the way.

No fans are paying $100 a ticket for fat cheerleaders or second-rate football. For THE PESSIMIST, the win is meaningless this week. The entertainment is everything.

No amount of spin and Rah-Rah from the head coach will convince the Bucs they’re a good team this week if they can’t bury the Panthers by three scores.

Well Pessimist, I have to agree with you. If we are as good as we think, this should be a destruction on Sunday. No close win to pull out. If the D can remember there is a 1st half to NFL games, it will happen.

  2. MVPFreeman Says:

    JOE,

What is the PESSIMIST smoking?!?!? Our cheerleaders are HOT!!!!!

  3. MVPFreeman Says:

    JOE,

…..I belive it is acctually consensus that we have THE HOTTEST cheerleaders in the NFL….. did you hire ‘ERIC’ to do your pessimist features by any chance?

  4. Dave Says:

The pessimist articles suck. When you have a good team and are looking to stir something up it is understandable.
But, with a young rebuilding team with no expectations and many more holes to fill it is just too easy.

As far as beating Carolina by 3 scores???? Seriously? Have you ever watched the NFL? No team should ever think they can beat someone by 3 scrores (see NE vs Cleveland last week). Especially a young rebuilding teams starting 4-5 rookies on offense.

  5. BamBamBuc Says:

Lame… really lame. Is that the best you could do, Pessimist? Really?

“Good teams on the rise clobber crap teams at home, especially the ones with loads of injuries, rookie quarterbacks, a coach on the hotseat and that have probably given up on the season.”

Isn’t that what the Bucs were last year?

Yet we beat the Packers and the Saints. Make all the excuses you want about how the Saints had locked up home field (which they hadn’t) or whatever. Yet we beat them. Don’t let this be a trap game where the team goes out thinking they’re gonna blow out the Panthers, get over-confident and end up losing. These guys are young and need to stay focused. And if it turns out being a tough game, so be it, as long as they stay in there, fight, and come out with the win.

  6. thomas Says:

I agree that is weak pessimism. Real pessimism is: The run defense is HORRIBLE which falls on the head coach and defensive coordinator. The HORRIBLE Panthers will stll run the ball effectively with their top 2 RB’s OUT!

The Bucs got blown out by CHARLIE FRIGGIN BATCH at home! Would have probably lost to the Cards if Derek Anderson would have started and played the whole game.

The weak DLINE will probably not sniff Jimmy Clausen. I predict a 14-13 Bucs win in a stinker, and the the lose the 49ers next week which starts the EXPOSE of what this team really is “not good!”

IF THEY HAPPEN TO LOSE THIS WEEK, UH OH KATIE BAR THE DOOR AND HELLO 6-10!!!

  7. BamBamBuc Says:

    thomas,

If they lose this week to the horrible Panthers, hello 6-10? Really? So, when you lose to a team you’re supposed to beat, the season just folds. Tell that to the Packers and Saints last year. I believe the Saints didn’t fold, but went on to win the Super Bowl.

Now, I’m not saying the Bucs are the Saints. Not even close. But they are a young group of guys that has played 60 minutes every game. Whether it’s close or a blow-out, they’ve played full games. I have no reason to believe they wouldn’t play a full season either.

Also, they have enough talented players (Freeman, Williams, Blount, etc) on offense and enought (Talib, Ronde, etc) on defense to “LUCK” into more than one win the remainder of the season. A pick 6, or a KR TD, or a late rally is all it takes against the likes of the 49ers, Lions, Redskins, or Seahawks to “luck” into a win. So, to think 6-10 is just silly.

Now, if you’re looking to replace the Pessimist, it’s not a bad attempt. Both are pretty lame, but hey, at least you gave it a shot.

  8. Bucnjim Says:

Always good to see Thomas talking crap that makes no sense. Now that’s entertaining! The NFL is full of surprises this year, but I don’t think there will be any here in Tampa this Sunday. Look for the Bucs to take out there loss last week on the Panthers. Fox has lost that team weeks ago so this is a good time to get those first half blues out of the way.

  9. New Era Buc Says:

I just lost 3 minutes of my life reading this crap. Win by 3 scores, really ? You do realize these same panthers almost beat the saints earlier this season. Wow talk about reaching for straw’s on this lame ass article. Don’t quit your day Job pessimist. Let me guess you had the bucs down for 3 wins at the start of the season and now they should win by 3 scores. Drugs are bad kids !

  10. Blackmagic00 Says:

First time I have agreed with the PESSIMIST. We have to steamroll the Panthers. We need a better showing than we had last time and last time we roasted them.

  11. Pete Dutcher Says:

I’m glad I didn’t waste my time reading this. I prefer a more positive attitude.

  12. BamBamBuc Says:

I think we’d all love to see our team go out and dominate a weaker team. We’d love to have a blowout for once, instead of a heart attack at the end of a game. The only think pessimistic is to say that if we don’t get a blowout, our season is lost. It’s not lost even if we get beat. It’d be a lot more difficult for a young team if we got beat, but not lost.

I really think the Bucs can get a good, strong win this week. They can get a lead and relax and have fun closing out this game. Maybe it’s just what McCoy needs, is a lead, a game to relax and just rush the QB when he’s dropping back and throwing about 60 times trying to catch up.

Let’s hope we have a big game, a blowout win. Let’s see McCoy get that first sack to relieve the pressure building to get it. Put a smile on these guys faces in the huddle as they go out and just have fun with a lead.

But, if it’s a close game, buckle down. Put on those serious faces and treat us to another “cardiac” performance. A win is a win. I’ll take it however it comes.

  13. derf Says:

I was wondering when the Pessimist would raise his voice again.

Personally I want to see the Bucs DOMINATE this game. Why? Well right now I’ve got the Bucs down as a young and upcoming team. Average at best.

A loss to the Carolina kitties and I’ll be devistated and shocked.

A win, especially a 4th quarter come from behind by Freeman would just piss me off.

What I want to see is this:

    1. Bucs win the TOP battle
    2. Bucs leading at half-time
    3. Bucs keeping Carolina to under 14 points
    4. One of the Bucs running for 100+ yards
    5. An INT by the Bucs

  14. Capt.Tim Says:

Well, guess we have about out grown this guy. He’s out lived whatever small amount of credibility he once had( really, never had any). We know the Bucs aren’t a “good” team. Nor are they claiming to be a “good team”. What they are is a rebuilding team, that has accomplished great things! Huge difference. Nice if the Bucs score slot and blow out the panthers. But not’expected’, nor “required to establish themselves”. Bucs are youngest team in the NFL. All the informed fan expect is great effort and improvement. Some improvement we know takes time(D-line), other things go faster.but for someone who has doubted this team from since preseason, and wasn’t smart enough to listen to me, act like he is in the posistion to make demands of this team, is laughable. Pessismist, you have been wrong about this team since May. You have belittled and insulted this team, management, and ownership at every opportunity. And you have been both wrong, and horribly uneducated about football. They’ve made you look foolish. You aren’t in a posistion to “demand” wins by any Margin. This team doesn’t need to prove it’s self to you,as it has already proven YOU the FOOL. At this point, you should give up your rediculous and incorrect post, and quietly slip on the Team Bandwagon, as so many other misguided folks have done. To err is human, to KEEP doing it is just really obnoxious. Just hop on board dude, there’s room!

  15. MOBucs Says:

Where did you find this complete moron Joe? I appreciate the fact that you push out lots of articles everyday, but don’t sacrifice quality for quantity.

  16. Capt.Tim Says:

Thomas- SILENCE town fool! We have not summoned you to amuse us with your foolish prattle and shameful antics! Back to your pen with the swine! We will call for you if we feel the need for laughter!

  17. squadoosh1 Says:

This is a pessimist ..really? We have a group of people who write on this blog regularly that make this guy look like Tony Robbins. I think I saw them at the airport last week booing the Bucs safe landing and this guy is a pessimist? C’mon give us something a little better than that!
I’ll take a win anytime in the NFL..it would be nice to see some improvement in the D though.

  18. RichinNC Says:

    “Capt.Tim Says:
…Nor are they claiming to be a “good team”…”

You might want to check on that, because I think the head coach (that would be Raheem Morris) said they are the best team in the NFC. To me that is not only claiming to be a good team but also the “best” team in the conference.

Keep it up Pessimist articles like this really get the peoples fingers slamming the keyboard.

  19. Mr. Lucky Says:

Look people this Sunday SHOULD be about getting the defense it’s reps and winning BIG.

This Sunday SHOULD be about making a statement.

  20. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Until the BCS gets involved in the NFL, a win is a win. NEXT.

  21. Buc You Says:

So if the Bucs lose are they in trouble?
