Bucs Aren’t Even Talking With Rams

February 22nd, 2010

A lot of the national media is skeptical at best of the Bucs acquiring the Rams first overall pick for career backup Josh Johnson and the Bucs third round pick this spring.

Peter King outright said it won’t happen. Alex Marvez and Rich Gannon openly mocked the Bucs in shooting down the rumors.

Adam Schefter of BSPN.com, Twittering this afternoon, suggests the Rams and the Bucs aren’t even talking. In other words, the rumor is bogus.

This trade is as close as I am to being the No. 1 overall pick. Not to say the Rams and Bucs couldn’t one day make a trade, but so far their conversations have been as extensive as mine and Tiger’s.

The thing about this trade, Joe believes it’s rather early for the Bucs to pull a trigger on such a deal. Specifically, the Rams would be foolish to make a deal this early. Who knows, they may get a better deal in the final hours leading to the draft.

You won’t see anything happen until after Bradford\Clausen has their pro-day. That’s when things will start rollin’.

It’s typical for teams to deny they are talking , when they are. Trust me , they are talking. A deal may not be close , but they are talking.
