State Of The Bucs Address Expected Today

January 26th, 2010

Affable Bucs general manager Mark Dominik has been strangely quiet of late but is expected to open up today, reports Woody Cummings of the Tampa Tribune.

Attending the Senior Bowl practices in Alabama along with Bucs coaches, Dominik is expected to discuss all matters pertaining to the Bucs and what team officials plan to do in the near future to return the Bucs to their winning ways.

One reason for Dominik’s silence, of course, is that few changes have or will be made within Raheem Morris’s coaching staff, which is looking only for a receivers coach and quarterbacks coach.

Dominik and Morris will spend some of their time in Mobile interviewing candidates for those positions, but it may be a few more days before they announce any decisions.

Joe isn’t sure what Dominik or the Bucs can do for the immediate future as far as new assistants. As Jeff Carlson pointed out in this morning’s QB Blasts column, and as Joe inferred in recent posts about Bucs linebackers coach Joe Barry, who with a decent resume is going to come to the Bucs on a one-year contract under a coach whose own future is less than sturdy?
