Jameis Watch: Brooks On Board

Derrick Brooks is putting on the pressure

Crab-legs-stealing, BB-gun-shooting, obscenity-hollering, Heisman-Trophy-winning, former national champion Jameis Winston, the pride of Florida State University, continues to look like a much better quarterback prospect than Mike Glennon and Josh McCown.

It’s Joe’s daily nugget on the Jameis Watch, celebrating the best quarterback to wear No. 5 ever in the state of Florida.

The biggest argument the naysayers of Winston have going for them is Winston’s indiscretions off the field. While Joe understands that, they are not enough to ignore Winston’s immense talent.

Many Bucs fans want their team — naively — to have a roster filled with Boy Scouts. You know, men of undisputed high character like Derrick Brooks. The Hall of Fame linebacker is beloved by Bucs fans as a class act, a high character guy, which he most certainly is.

As a result, Joe wonders how the Winston critics among Bucs fans are going to square it with themselves that Brooks has now come out swinging, fighting not just in defense of Winston, but also lobbying hard for Tampa Bay to draft Winston No. 1 come the end of April.

In an interview this week from Phoenix on Bleacher Report Radio, heard exclusively on SiriusXM Radio, Brooks make it perfectly clear the Bucs need Winston.

Winston “is what they need right now,” Brooks said of Winston. “It would be hard-pressed for me to not think the Bucs are not going to draft him with the No. 1 overall pick.

“What this young man has done thus far, he deserves to be the No. 1 pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. … The last 2 1/2 years I’ve gotten a chance to know him. You would be impressed. … His work ethic. How he bleeds the cause. Undeniable. He gives it up for his team. He works his butt off behind the scenes. He is a team-first guy, not a me-guy.”

There aren’t many more powerful endorsements Team Glazer could receive for Winston. By clicking the orange arrow below, you can hear Brooks’ emotion in talking about Winston.

A strong endorsement, indeed, from a Bucs icon, both on and off the field.

A man who also got in hot water off the field in college.

Depends on how hot the water gets relative to the sexual assault accusation. Think the Glazer’s might not want the on going drama or negativity from the documentary and assumed civil case move forward. They don’t want to divide their fan base.

If Brokks got in hot water off the field…..well then…
Jameis started a fire in the kitchen….

  4. Pickgrin Says:

Winston is the best QB to come out since Luck and 1 of the 5 best QB prospects in the last 10 years.

Those saying there are no QBs worthy of the 1st pick are full of shiet.

Watch the tape on Winston and then watch it again. If you don’t see an NFL QB – then you have no idea what the hell to look for.

Brooks says we need to draft Winston. Brooks knows Jameis Winston way better than any other poster on this site. If you don’t trust Derrick Brooks recommendation and positive judgement of character regarding someone he knows pretty well – over your own negative opinions of Winston which are based mainly upon impressions, hearsay and sensationalism – then there’s not much left that’s rational to say to you….

  5. Luther Says:

Brooks has been around enough me guys to know about them. Hopefully we get Winston.

  6. JoeJoes Fungi Nails Says:

    I don’t like Jameis’s throwing motion
I don’t like Jameis’s on field decision making
Jameis’s rookie year stats are because of team talent mismatches rather than QB ability
of course his off field troubles
he has shown immmaturity both on and off field
    1st overall….no thanks
Jameis is gonna drop on draft day

  7. Bird Says:

Hope they get the right guy. I want wins. The other big elephant in the room about Jameis is comments about baseball. At some point if things don’t go well with bucs record and not being as successful as he has been in the past does he bolt to Major League Baseball cause his dream is to pitch for the Yankees

  8. 87ForJameisNoMariota Says:

Standing by the tunnel’s before home and away games Jameis Winston would low five each player on his team while they ran out onto the field. Sometimes being the last player to come out on the field. He’s definitely NOT a me first guy.

“He’s got this infectious personality,” Dilfer said. “A lot of people use the term leadership, but I like guys who are comfortable in their own skin. That’s Jameis. He came in a little unprepared, and he admitted it. But he’s got a real presence to him. I’ve been real proud of him.”

Brook’s has nothing on me as far as lobbying for Winston. 🙂

  9. JoeJoes Fungi Nails Says:

87…all that could be said about Johnny Football as a college player

  10. Tom Edrington Says:

I believe that the main thing Derrick Brooks knows about quarterbacks is how to hurt them…..

  12. Tampabaybucfan Says:

“It would be hard-pressed for me to not think the Bucs are not going to draft him with the No. 1 overall pick.”

Sound like a double-negative to me….but I don’t think Brooks was trying to fool us.

So, now the Glazers or going…..”Brooks, Dungy, Brooks, Dungy, Brooks, Dungy”

  13. JoeJoes Fungi Nails Says:

“So, now the Glazers or going…..”Brooks, Dungy, Brooks, Dungy, Brooks, Dungy”….LOL….they are not alone….
    for me
Trade down TWICE in the 1st round and begin the multi year rebuild starting with O&D line men

  14. 87ForJameisNoMariota Says:

“Hand placement, foot placement, hip placement, eye
placement, shoulder placement,” Fisher said. “He works on all those fundamentals every week. We put in a lot of work.

“He’s done a really nice job with his hands … where his hands are held on the release point to be more consistent. But he can adjust his hands, which all the great ones can. He’s working his feet a lot … but he’s working his hips and getting more in line with his throws and being more aware of those things and not relying on his arm as much.”

Mark Stoops was irritated at times with Winston last year. The Kentucky coach was the Florida State defensive coordinator while Winston led the scout team in practice. Stoops expected Winston to be successful, just not so quickly.

“He just had that uncanny ability to drop the ball in on you all over the place. It was so aggravating,” Stoops said. “Just making plays and dropping the ball in there in some tough spots. He just had the ability to make plays.”

Winston manages to get himself in good throwing position more often than not.

“He doesn’t have to over-accentuate throwing the ball,” said Duke coach David Cutcliffe, who mentored Peyton and Eli Manning. “What I mean by that is his body is pretty quiet, allows him to be really be accurate. Looks to me, like for as young as he is, he’s very accurate.”

Dabo Swinney found out the hard way. Fifty-one points was the most points Clemson has ever allowed at home.

“Oh, he’s as good as anybody we’ve seen, that’s for sure,” Swinney said. “I mean, he’s very deserving to be one of the Heisman guys. Heck, and he may win it.

“But the thing that I’m most impressed with him is he just doesn’t make any mistakes, and he doesn’t flinch. He’s a very, very mature, poised guy personally. And then you throw in his great skill as a football player, just incredibly impressive.”

  15. Jim Says:

This choice scares me. Do the Bucs need a QB that MAY be great (or bust) or one that could be decent for the next 10 years? I prefer to go with the safest pick and build a top defense. Brad Johnson took the Bucs to the SB.

  16. 87ForJameisNoMariota Says:

“And God did this. I’m so blessed. He’s so blessed. All the stuff he handled with Ethan. And he come in here and coach us? That touched me. And it’s nobody but God. It’s nobody.” – Jameis Winston.

  17. 87ForJameisNoMariota Says:

Winston knows it has to stop.

“I’m hurting this team, I really am,” Winston said.

At least two of the recent six interceptions were the result of a receiver running a route wrong, but Winston also is taking more risks with his throws.

“It’s not the offense starting slow now,” Winston said. “It’s just me starting slow, throwing interceptions, and that has to change.

“I’ve got to stop turning the ball over, and we’ve got to start making some noise in the first half. … My job as the leader of the team and as the quarterback of this team, I have to put both sides of the ball in good position to win the game.”

  20. 87ForJameisNoMariota Says:

Be prepared on draft day non-believers, be very prepared to hear that name called off at #1.

The interview process? Everybody that’s ever been around this kid LOVES his personality.

    Be prepared, be prepared.

  21. StPeteBucsFan Says:

I think it’s clear I’ve been terribly worried about selecting Jameis but has said I would be on board if the Bucs Braintrust (is that an oxymoron? sorry Pablo don’t know the Spanish word for oxymoron) has done it’s due diligence and decides to pull the trigger.

But this is huge for me. Derrick Brooks is the face of the Bucs for me!!! I came to the Bucs later than some of you..early 90’s…and so I totally missed out on the Leroy Selmon era. He is a man who has a great reputation and was loved and respected by all.

Right after Selmon though you have to put Brooks up there on the Bucs Mount Rushmore. I think very highly of his class and integrity. Even given the fact that his garnet and gold blood may influence the decision I still respect Brooks too much to ignore this endorsement.

If Brooks is on board I’m a lot more comfortable with the pick. This should be the best news for Jameis lovers since the National Championship!!!

  22. Skyline Crew Says:

If you have never read the draft report by the Patriots on Manziel, do yourself a favor and read it. We dodged a massive bullet on that one. That kid is done in the NFL unless he changes everything about himself.

  23. Skyline Crew Says:

    Oh yeah, draft Mariota.

  24. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @ St. Pete

I can’t control Pablo….he has a half-mind of his own….and FYI….Pablo has several wives, so take your pick!!!

Sorry. I spent yesterday in a waiting room at Shands in Gainesville while my wife lectured at the UF Dental School. Nothing else to do but play here on JBF.

At least UF has great free Wifi for visitors.

  27. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @ Skyline Crew

“unless he changes everything about himself.”

Unlikely…..ususally people just double-down on who they are…..it often takes a crisis to make someone change their basic nature.

I suspect with Winston….his behavior could be contained at best….but the real Winston will always be inside of him trying to get out.

I have budgeted sleep aids for 2015 on…just in case….because I will always be waiting anxiously for that very bad piece of news……

  28. RustyRhino Says:

No disrespect intended for Mr. Brooks endorsement. But for me Winston has only played 2 seasons of college football, correct me if I am wrong but the ACC is not yet a part of the NFL? Are the teams in the conference that FSU played against all NFL talented? I would have rather Mr Winston went back to school to compete and get his degree in whatever it is that he has been studying towards.
The NFL is a meatgrinder and without an education how can players succeed after the fame and glory are gone. How many QB’s that entered the NFL draft two years into their college career have found success in the cutthroat business of the NFL. Who is to say that Mr Winston will have a great successful junior season when he is drafted this season. What will happen to this young man if he $hits the bed in the NFL, will he still get all the love and admiration? This is a risky venture to draft a player who is only two years removed from highschool. Sure we can all say he is and has done somethings that are youthful miss judgments. When will he grow past this, when he is a millionaire NFL QB? maybe

  29. bucs55 Says:

Crazy how people think they know more than the experts. Y’all some haters plain and simple. Everyone that endorses Winston is wrong and you are right. Now go back to McDonald’s and keep flipping burgers.

The majority of people who know football and have years of experience endorse Winston. And respect that they know more than you dream to know about football.

You say you don’t like his mechanics yet experts everywhere say his mechanics are top notch. Who the hell are y’all? Just angry people in front of a cpu I guess.

Winston is the best QB in the draft by far. Not my opinion, the words of the QB guru that has trained just about every nfl qb prospect the last 10 years. I’ll take his opinion over yours. Haters boy I tell ya

  30. Skyline Crew Says:

    @Rusty

His inexperience has been brought up before. Another year would have benefitted him, but not sure he could afford to go for another year. Maybe he didn’t true himself to stay another year so he got out while he could.

  31. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @ St. Pete

No problem…..sometimes its the short posts that are the hardest to read….I am particularly bothered by the racial overtones and accusations….which I don’t have any place in the dispute. I also think the rape allegations, although disturbing, won’t ever have a resolution.

There is a lot of repetition which you could expect with the same subject on a daily basis….the problem is that the debate won’t resolve itself for quite some time…..even after the pick is made…there will be debate about what could have been for, I suspect….years.

  32. OB Says:

Josh Freeman didn’t have a bad thing said about him before he was drafted as far as character is concerned, yet his attitude on the last year here, according to Joe if I read him right, was a factor in the poor performance of the team.

I don’t get paid millions by the Bucs to choose QBs, so those that do can choose who they want, I would want Mariota for his smarts under fire and character being about the same age as Winston, but they must get it right and let Glennon be the QB until or if the new one can beat him out of the job. I would cut McCown, all I need is the millions and the job.

  33. Barry Says:

    Really? I’m shocked.

  34. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    @TBBF

it often takes a crisis to make someone change their basic nature.

Agree completely. I’m hoping that Jameis HAS realized the crisis he’s created with his immature attitude and horrid life decisions. The blowback from that fateful night is far from over and I think it probably caught him off guard. He’s spent his entire life being worshipped. That’s hard for any young man to absorb without acting out. Again exhibit A is Justin Bieber

  35. MTM Says:

I wonder if Brooks would endorse Winston if he played at Florida. I think not. Brooks has bad case of homerism. Winston is an interception machine. I think Tampa already has one of those and we all witnessed how that worked out.

  36. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    @RustyRhino

“I would have rather Mr Winston went back to school to compete and get his degree in whatever it is that he has been studying towards.”

That is my sentiment as well. But I don’t think he had that option. I suspect he was quietly told it would be better for all if he moved on. The fact that we can say he’s innocent until proven guilty while true is sadly irrelevant at this point. Too much water under the bridge and movies and internet articles have probably worn out Jimbo and all of FSU’s leaders.

A fresh start in a professional environment may be all that Jameis has left from which to choose.

Derrick Brooks has basically placed his huge reputation on the line for Jameis. That comforts me greatly.

  37. Eric Says:

    Undeniable.

    Bleeds the cause.

A team first guy. Not a me first guy.

From the greatest buc ever who actually knows Jameis. Nuff said. Issue closed.

    Draft the man.

  38. Waterboy Says:

I’m going to be real disappointed if the owners let the fans down there push them away from drafting the best QB in the draft and arguably the best in the past couple drafts. There should be 0 questions on who the Bucs will take in this year’s draft and it’s definitely not the Kaepernik or Alex Smith clone. Mariota’s not going to last a full season with the big boys once he starts trying to run around like he did at Oregon. Once that running threat is gone his career as a starter will be over.

  40. The only Buc fan in Montana Says:

OK, the more I have studied and read I am a little more comfortable with Winston. But, we should try to find a solid veteran backup (face it, Glennon is getting traded, and McCown is a bum) that can hold the fort in case it doesn’t pan out…maybe Hoyer or Ryan Fitzpatrick?

  41. Eric Says:

Thank you for putting this issue to rest Mr. Brooks.

  42. BB Says:

They are taking mariota I know for a fact

  43. mikeh Says:

@MTM spot on! all these Winnie Winston lovers on here or should say most are nole fans or attended that school. like the pinhead who reads us stories about when this kid was 12 years old and sh*t who cares really get a life! you pinheads have your opinions and us non Winston fans have ours and dose not mean any of us are correct. so stop acting like jamies is a Andrew luck. he is not even close!!!!!

  44. Luther Says:

@BB You have said that garbage many times…why would they have already made their minds up to take the second best QB in the draft. Stupid talk is all you know for a fact.

  45. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    @Waterboy and other Jameis supporters

There is a famous saying. You don’t make your own furniture look better by chopping up your neighbors! It’s great to point out Jameis’ strengths and he has many. But trying to make him look better by putting down Mariota is not really the way to go and it results in some specious posts.

Mariota’s not going to last a full season with the big boys once he starts trying to run around like he did at Oregon. Once that running threat is gone his career as a starter will be over.

That is a lame statement. Russell Wilson is 5-10 ½ about six inches and perhaps 40 lbs lighter than Mariota. He has not missed any serious time.

Mariota is also much quicker and more athletic than Wilson. And Mariota like Wilson is a very smart athlete who is dedicated to his craft. Football is not freaking rocket science although some dumb jocks may make it appear so.

Mariota is smart enough and will work hard enough to learn how and when to slide. He’s not a dim bulb! He’s incredibly coachable. The same is true for taking snaps from center. Those are all red herrings that really do not clearly describe Mariota.

Now if the pro evaluators come to the conclusion that he doesn’t have enough arm strength that will be an insurmountable hurdle. But all this other crap is just that…crap. He’s bright, motivated and he can learn how to protect himself when he runs just like Wilson and unlike RGIII who never seemed to realize the NFL is not college.

  46. Eric Says:

Blind hatred is an ugly thing.

Even the greatest buc ever can’t change it in some of you.

    Truly sad.

    Go Jaboo.

  47. Cody Says:

Lovie better not F@*K this up…

Winston has to be the guy…It’s rare to find a QB that combines Attributes such as, swagger, fearless, big, strong, gifted arm talent, toughness, mobilty, anticipates throws/throws his receivers open, die hard, vocal leader, football junkie, clutch, champion…

If we blow this and draft a DL or Twinkle Toes Mariota I will be beyond pissed…

  48. Eric Says:

Put a bow on it Mr. Cody just said it all…….

  49. carlstoe Says:

Bucs brass attended Rose Bowl and saw Shameis yell at Fisher! Heard crowd chanting No Means No! Imagine the 8 road games with Shameis. Imagine how loud New Orleans and Atlanta crowds would chant No Means No! Protesters at home games! Front office is not stupid!

  50. Mr. Patrick Says:

Seems like Mr. Brooks likes to talk out of both sides of his mouth as two weeks ago he said the opposite. Either he caught a lot of flack for his previous comments or his Garnett and Gold blood runs deeper than his Red and Pewter

Seminoles won the national Championship and made it through to the playoffs with tremendous press coverage.

Bucs will be fine. So far no one has believed her story.

The outpouring of the Seminole Nation in support; and fair minded bucs fans, will more than offset a few haters.

Especially after Tampa gets to know the real Jameis; which is how Brooks describes him; rather than the distorted media view who are pushing an agenda.

Lovie is going to love the guy. Im sure he appreciates the fiery leadership vs.the calm acceptance of Mariota.

    Go Jaboo.

  58. IStillbleedOrange Says:

Pre-Draft talk by all the professional Talking Heads out there reminds me of a Twinkie…all fluff and filler. And let’s remember one thing about the ONLY difference between a Professional and an Amateur…the Professional gets paid.

We go through a daily grind of Jameis Winston talk, Haters vs Defenders, and I am a bit weary of all this back and forth over a decision that will be made regardless of how we feel about it, and in spite of what invectives we throw at each other. And now, I have to endure an auto-play anti-Mariota ad everytime I open a JBF discussion. (sigh)

I am grateful that we didn’t have the ability to unload our displeasure with the Bucs back in the 70’s and 80’s, and even early 90’s like we have nowadays with our Social Media outlets. I love JBF, but seriously, I shudder to think what we would have put on here during the Leeman Bennett/Ray Perkins days.

Buccaneer Fans have a long history of disappointment heaped upon disgust over ineptitude. We support our team through some of the most horrendous seasons (’76 – ’77, ’83 – ’86). But I don’t recall us hating on each other back then as we seem to do now. Perhaps it has much to do with the anonymity of the Internet, whereas if we spoke to each other face to face like this, there’d be a lot of broken faces. Seems to me, folks should just saddle up to the bar, and discuss our beloved team over a few cold pitchers and a lot of wings. I believe our conversations would still be heated, but a lot more civil. Maybe I’m just too retro.

It’s going to be a long wait till Draft Day, and I can’t wait till it’s over. How long till Opening Day?

  59. Couch Fan Says:

I just read that article does he ever say the opposite. But I can see how your blind hate would cause you to interprit his non answers in that way.

  60. Couch Fan Says:

nowhere does he say the opposite*

  61. Eric Hernandez Says:

Jamies Winston is not Andrew Luck. Andrew Luck took a 2-14 team, a team with less talent than this current Buccaneer roster to the playoffs in his first year. I don’t believe he can do that.

Now he is the best QB prospect coming out, all that simply means is he will need less time than the other QB’s.

Now what the real question is what would Lovie/Glazers will feel safest picking come April.

  62. Mr. Patrick Says:

According to the NY Times, the Sexual Violence Task Force Of Tampa Bay have met with front office people from the Bucs about the possibility of them drafting Winston. Interesting

  63. Eric Hernandez Says:

@Eric, what the hell are you talking about? From Mike and mike to First take to Highly questionable to sports nation to Mel Kiper to Todd McShay and all ESPN analyst said Winston is an amazing prospect who should be the first over all pick.

Oh you must mean the rape allegation, which was true a woman did allege he raped her. The stealing of crab legs which was true he took them without buying. A few days after people on ESPN said how this was normal. Oh how about Yelling something that I can’t write on this post. That happened.

How dare the media report the truth.

  64. Mr. Patrick Says:

The Tricky Calculus Of Drafting Jameis Winston. Google it

  65. Eric Says:

The media agenda I am referring to is the idea that rape at university campuses has reached epidemic proportions.

Totally false. When you read the NY Times and other media outlet accounts they never go into thr facts of the alleged victims multiple stories or how her own friends versions differ from hers. You wont hear any of that in this “documentary”.

A good example is the Rolling Stone fabrication about the gang rape at UV.

That is what I mean by it. I undrrstand the crab legs bb gun and profanity thing happened.

But those college pranks would never have gotten any attention without the rape case.

    Ergo the agenda.

  66. Eric Hernandez Says:

    @ Eric,

When it comes to the case of Winston he is in the public life. Anything he does is going be put on public display. We nit picked Maziel for the last two years and he didn’t have a rape allegation.

As for the rise of rape in college, I haven’t read the study so I’m not sure however one answer maybe more woman are coming forward as opposed to 20 years where many women were afraid to come forward. Like I said I’m not sure about the study however with Winston anything he does well command attention.

  67. Eric Says:

Well you can call it an allegation if you wish but it hasn’t been believed by the police prosecutor or the Supreme Court Justice.

False allegation is a better description.

Could be more media attention on him true.

Nothing much came of Big Ben or Vick as they carried on their NFL careers.

    No reason Jameis can’t.

  68. Eric Says:

Isn’t Kobe Bryant still playing basketball.

Cant hold “accusations” against a person after they are cleared.

  69. Josh P Says:

At the end of the day we all want the same goal for the Bucs, thsts WIN… So all the Winston haters out there if they draft him and he starts to turn this franchise back in the right direction you all will be jumping on the band wagon, that also goes for the Mariota haters as well. Sure we have a preference, but in reality we will be happy with how ever they draft if in the long run that person brings us victories and a championship..

  70. lurker Says:

newspapers, unfortunately have to sensationalize to get the views.

  71. armchairGM Says:

I think it would be a lot more telling an endorsement if the endorsement came from someone outside of FSU and even more so if it came from outside of the state of Florida. The old ball coach is about the only person I have ever heard not give a fully ringing endorsement (Clowney) of a guy they coached, a guy they played with or a guy from their alma mater. Just a few weeks ago Brooks was saying he didn’t believe Jameis was ready, I guess he has spent the last few weeks with him?

@couch fan this is what he was talking about : http://www.tampabay.com/sports/football/bucs/derrick-brooks-says-jameis-winston-needs-plan-of-maturity/2213115

  73. Eric Says:

Yeah what the heck does Brooks know.

I guess the preferred method is to go outside the state to people who dont know him and get their opinion.

    Forget teammates coaches teachers etc.

  74. lurker Says:

exactly…brooks says he knows him going on 2 1/2 years, but let’s go to someone who just reads about him or gets second-hand hearsay.

  75. Couch Fan Says:

The fact Brooks with to FSU doesn’t mean its homerism. All it means is Brooks has better insight than any one of us because he has access to first hand knowledge of the kid and maybe he’s just giving his honest opinion?

Nah, that can’t be it. Way to crazy of an idea. I mean Brooks character is questionable himself right?

But continue to put your spin on it.

  76. Couch Fan Says:

    Went to FSU*

  77. armchairGM Says:

Its funny when Dungy endorses Mariota it’s bias because his son played with him, when Brooks comes out and endorses Jameis it’s the gospel. How can both not show bias? Dungy said he had his bias and Brooks said he is a bit of a homer. And out of state can be his home state, why do u guys get so up in arms I know you guys want him badly but stop getting your heart rate up when someone has an opposing view or brings up a valid question

  78. Couch Fan Says:

Says the guy who is complaining about other peoples opinions….

  79. armchairGM Says:

When did I complain about someone elses opinion? I rarely post on here because I don’t like getting into stupid arguments but based on the last few things I wrote define to me where I complained about someone elses opinion?

If your not on one side or the other why exactly would you just be calling out one side? when the other side is also making ridiculous comments left and right. C’mon now. You aren’t as smart as you think. And the simple fact you felt the need to reply tells me that my post was correct.

Joe and media can stop begging for Winston I have spoken with someone and it is mariota

Bucs are talking with the Violent Sexual Taskforce of Tampa. Man I would love to be a fly on that wall.

  84. Buccfan37 Says:

I’m on board with Winston or a defensive pick being the Bucs first pick. It’s not like the fans can’t deal with a eventual failed pick, whoever it is. All the Bucs fans will support the pick after it is made. That I am sure of. I try to ignore the opposing sides. Hurry up and wait is the hardest part. The Bucs are going to be better, I am certain of that. Then again, I’ve felt this way since season one.

  85. Eric Says:

My times sexual task force of tampa bay

  86. Eric Says:

    Interesting combo.

  87. Winston4Mayor Says:

WOW!! What NEG.. analysis on Mariotta on JBF upper right!!!!!

However, I couldn’t agree more and I could add to it as well… Not.. I repeat.. Not a First round talent! If Tampa bay selects him with the first oveall pick… (cough cough, chocking on chicken wings now!!) That day will live in Tampa bay Football infamy!!!!!!! Just saying…

“Winston is the best QB to come out since Luck and 1 of the 5 best QB prospects in the last 10 years.”

Funny, I’ve read mocks this year that say that EXACT thing about Mariota.

LOL, I’m sure that would be entertaining. I wonder who they’re talking about? haha

    Rob,

“Funny, I’ve read mocks this year that say that EXACT thing about Mariota.”

I’m a Winston guy, but I agree. This is a good QB draft. Winston is not Luck and I think Mariotta is better than Griffin. You’ve got to go back a while (past 2012) to find a draft with 2 QB’s of this quality.

I’ve read just about every Mock there is, please point me in the direction of these Mocks that are saying such things about Mariota.

You won’t, because there isn’t any.

    Brad Johnson -bucs superbowl
Luck, both Mannings …. Only legit top#1 overall qb draft picks
All other top pick qb’s pretty much pretty average or busts last 20 years
