Lavonte Likes Blount, Leans Patriots

January 28th, 2015

LavonteDavidNot every Buccaneer is hiding his head in shame after a disastrous 2014 season.

One actually popped up today, as Joe mingled on famed Radio Row of the Phoenix convention center.

It was No. 54, Lavonte David, Tampa Bay’s stud linebacker who doesn’t get a lot of respect nationally.

David made his way over to the SiriusXM NFL Radio broadcast area for a chat with hosts Pat Kirwan and Jim Miller. David tried to play Switzerland with various politically correct answers, but he was pressed to get a little real.

So David admitted he’s “leaning” toward the Patriots if he had to pick a winner. And David talked about facing both Marshawn Lynch and LeGarrette Blount, who he said has more moves than Lynch and presents some different challenges for a defender.

As for the politically correct responses, David said every Buccaneer “ended the year with their heads high.”

My favorite (current) Buc. It’s been a privilege to see him play every Sunday.

  2. Tom Edrington Says:

Fire the bums (The Squawk, Collins, etc) and PAY Lavonte!!

    Simple as that……

  3. SteveK Says:

Jason Licht needs to extend Lavonte David as soon as the new league year begins in March. David and Suh would be an off season haul. Suh brings the nasty, and what’s the point of paying GMC if you’re not going to give him any qualified help? GMC could be a potential 10 sack lineman, justifying his massive pay day.

Shop the top pick, draft big uglies on both sides of the ball and BRING BACK BUC BALL. Glennon can manage just fine with adequate time

Edge rushers and dancing bears are needed more than ever.

Get more picks and Play Mike Glennon! Lets turn this ship around! GO BUCS!

  5. Walter Says:

    GLENNON…… LOL

  6. GlennonGrad Says:

If i were the bucs, i would trim the fat, sign Iupati and give mike glennon a fiar chance, with full confidence in him as a starter, because neither of these qbs give me easy sleep

The ones who continuously litter these pages with this garbage about playing Glennon and not drafting a QB obviously enjoy watching us lose games. We’ve seen what Glennon can do and it makes me want to vomit when I think of watching Glennon pile up losses because we passed on a potential franchise QB. At least we have a glimmer of hope for the future with Winston or Mariota. Glennon is backup material and that’s it.

While watching that ugly blow-out against Koetter’s Falcons, I stopped watching the “game”, and just focused on LD every play. That made it so much more interesting.

ANY of you that think Glennon got a fair shake behind the worst two of the worst OLs in history and the Complete lack of offensive talent we had last yr then they don’t know much about football. GB’s OL gives Aaron Rodgers an average of 4 seconds in the pocket before pressure. I would gamble that Neither McCown or Glennon ever got an average of 2 seconds in the pocket for even One game. The diff between 2 seconds and 4 seconds is approximately 100%. No telling what Glennon could do with twice the time to throw.

@Idaho Bucs Fan. Nice to see another one of us up in this part of the country.

  11. ToesOnTheLine! Says:

LVD makes a fraction of what GMC makes, but he just might be the best leader?

As for Glennon…all I hear on this site from the Lovie Mob is how Lovie went to the Super Bowl with Rex (expletive) Grossman as his starting QB. If he’s still the same coach his supporters claim then he certainly can at least get to a mere playoff berth with Glennon and a ferocious D with McCoy, Leonard Williams, and LVD as the main cogs?

  12. Mike10 Says:

The same numbers that found LVD to be “ok” are the same ones that found McCoy and Verner to be “excellent”…. just saying

  13. BucIt941 Says:

Who needs pass rushing DE’s if you put Suh next to GMC. That would be insane. To bad there is 0 chance of us paying 2 maybe 3 players these massive deals especially all being on the defensive side.

Get over it. Glennon sucks, and it doesn’t matter how much time toy think he had in the pocket. He had no pocket awareness, no arm strength, no mobility and no heart. Why do you want this man to be the QB for your fav team and he can’t even stretch the ball out for a first down while running out of bounds cuz he’s afraid of getting hit. He is not good. Mediocre at best, and if you want to settle for that fine. But winning teams, like the ones in the Superbowl, don’t want a QB to manage the game, they want a QB to win it!

If Glennon was really that special, I mean truly special with superb talent, don’t you think we would’ve seen it by now regardless of the situation?

  15. Bucs fan in NC Says:

@gatrbuc17 Glennon couldn’t be the QB this franchise desperately needs even with Aaron Rodgers’ or Tony Romo’s OL!
