Clayton To The Rescue

Looks like Michael Clayton will get yet another chance to redeem himself. For now, we won't show his face until he looks like an asset to the Bucs.

Looks like Michael Clayton will get yet another chance to redeem himself. For now, we won't show his face until he looks like an asset to the Bucs.

Left off the active roster in Week 1, invisible in Week 2 and now playing the savior role in Week 3, Joe introduces you to Michael Clayton. Remember him? He was a good wide receiver back in 2004. Seems like only, uh, four years ago.

Clayton and Antonio Bryant, The Dropsy Twins, will start Sunday against the Bears, according to various media reports coming out of today’s practice.

Joey Galloway sprained his foot against Atlanta on Sunday, and no timetable has been set for his return. Joe’s guess is he sits out the Bears game.  On his radio show Monday night, Galloway showed no signs of optimism about the injury.

You can just imagine the Bears’ defense drooling over the thought of facing a second-rate pocket passer (Son of Bob) with a real knack for throwing big-play interceptions. Now combine that with Clayton and Bryant on the flanks, and you’ve got a defense who will make Griese and Gruden beat them through the air.  This could be a Dilfer-throwback performance.

What has Galloway done so far? I mean what are his #’s through two games. I dunno what they are but they aren’t impressive.
