GMC Should Shut It Down

December 14th, 2014

gmc 1211

Look, no one loves Gerald McCoy as much as Joe. He is the heart and soul of this team. He is a self-professed leader.

But after leaving today’s game with the second knee injury in as many weeks, an injury Lovie Smith called a hyper-extended knee injury, enough is enough. Time for GMC to start planning on his Cancun vacation.

There is no person more important to the Bucs than GMC, who believes he should be on the field at all times, pain or no pain.

However, these two final games to finish the season are totally meaningless, save for the Chase for Jameis. The Bucs need GMC healthy and 100 percent next year, not hobbled for half the season.

Shut it down, Gerald. No sense in letting your pride get in the way of common sense.

And Lovie, if you were a true leader, you would tell GMC in no uncertain terms his season is over. He is too valuable to throw away a career (possibly) on garbage games.

Let’s just cross our fingers that GMC’s injury is just the hyperextension Lovie reported earlier.

Joe totally agree, don’t want to see gmc till traing camp

  2. Spirit of '76 Says:

The credibility factor with the new coach and GM are at an all time low. I beleive half of what I see and none of what I hear. And from their pressers all I hear is wawawawawawa…

  3. MadMax Says:

Fire L@L for putting him back out there in the first place…..well, at least add it to the long list of reasons why.

Get better Mr. McCoy, enjoy some early time off and heal. Then start getting prepared for next season.

  4. Luther Says:

Like I said in the games thread, no reason for him to be out there. I know he wants to win but it’s not going to happen and we don’t need guys trying to “put something on film” hurting him in the process.

  5. OB Says:

Put him on IR and insure that he can’t play the rest of the year even if Lovie thinks we will be in the playoffs.

  6. Larry Says:

I’ll join the “Dump Lovie” crew if GMC doesn’t hit IR this week!

  7. tgreg Says:

And what evidence has Lovie showed since day 1 that he has a lick of sense?

  8. Just lose '2 more' baby!! Says:

Lovie want’s his best players in there no matter what the health…he want’s to win baby! so he fall out of the top 2 and no longer able to draft a franchise quarterback…My God! he might finally have an offense then :O

  9. Just lose '2 more' baby!! Says:

Come on Lovie…let’s win one for the Flipper!!! We can do it men…You will remember these 2 wins the rest of your lives and tell your grand children and their grand kids and so on…!!! Legacy baby!…that’s what I’m talking about!!!!

“And what evidence has Lovie showed since day 1 that he has a lick of sense?”

Not much. Let’s see. The move to unload Connor Barth and keep the unknown rookie Murray was one of the best of the year.

Drafting and playing Mike Evans was also great.

    Then there’s…..uh…..uh…..? ? ?

  11. bucrightoff Says:

We should shut Lovie down for good too.

  12. Dr T Says:

Risking the health and possibly the career of your $90 million dollar marquee player in the last two meaningless games should lead to a blindfold and last cigarette for Lovie! I’ll volunteer for the firing squad. Rubber bullets, anyone?

  13. pittbucfan Says:

Jameise? C’mon Jo!!! We don’t need our own RGIII. If Mariota is not our pick then we in trouble. As for GMC, yes. Season done. Finished. Not worth the risk.

  14. sho nuff Says:

the last thing i care about is someone making 100 million dollars having to wrk hurt….

  15. INDYbucsfan Says:

@pittbucfan you obviously do not watch Jamis Winston. Nothing like RG3

  16. mac Says:

Please wrap China doll McCoy in bubble wrap and put him on the shelf til next season… I mean the guy gets injured almost every game… I guess because he plays so hard and all… Or something like that…

Gerald McCoy is the Percy Harvin of defensive tackles…

  17. J Moné Says:

    Bench GMC n LVD

  18. Todd Says:

bench evans mccoy and lvd lol tank it

  19. Brandon Says:

Chase for Jameis? Lame! Win None for Winston!

  20. ddneast Says:

    So many ignorant asinine posts.
It really doesn’t matter if you fans don’t believe Lovie, it is apparent the players still do.
Well, maybe all of them except Gholson who is making business decisions every play from his safety position.
The Bucs defense ended the game yesterday playing only four defensive players who started the season on the first team.
Three fourths of the starting line is injured. Two different LB’s and two different DB’s. The only starting DL is Michael Johnson who is really not a starter at all.
Still, the Bucs held the Panthers to 19 points.
    Not bad.
The offense is a train wreck no doubt. But none of you morons have a crystal ball that would have seen what Tedford was going to do.
Tedford can kiss off any idea of getting a job in the NFL again. Quitting isn’t an attribute many staffs look for. If he thinks he can wash his hands if this mess he is sadly mistaken.
Not only that, he did it to a friend.

  21. Alex Manero Says:

Are you kidding me? The chase for Jameis? Certainly you meant Marcus..

  22. bucfan78 Says:

WTF, one season and you all want to throw coach and gm to the wolves. Gimme a break. i have seen people like you fair weather fans. if you can’t stick with them then go away. I agree the season didn’t go like it was planed but this isn’t Dungy to Gruden hand off. it takes more then 1 to start to win. give them some time. look at some of the players that were left. and also look at the future stars they found. I seem to see Lansanah, Danny, and Spence, Akeem. So take a deep breath and see what the new year brings.
