Lavonte David told his painful story

Lavonte David is a fierce competitor. Sitting out Sunday, his first missed game of his career, was brutal on him.

David painted a picture of a guy who wanted to go but was denied by team medical staff.

On the Buccaneers Radio Network last night, David said he woke up Sunday at 6 a.m. to prepare to play against the Bears. David said he got on the first team bus to Soldier Field, where he got the bad news from trainers and was told to “cool out on it,” referring to his healing hamstring.

He hung his head in his locker and called his mother, David said.

David said his mom told him it was a wise move by the team and to stay upbeat.

David agreed, though it still hurt.

“You gotta look at the bigger picture. I respect them for that,” David said of the team’s decision.

The way David told the story, Joe almost wished the Bucs could have told David earlier in the week that he was going to get the day off, so as not to crush his spirits.

Regardless, it was the smart play. No reason to risk the health of a pillar of the franchise — not with two wins in late November.

I wish they all had the same heart and fire. LVD All-World.

Yes we need David for the future more than a meaningless game in a lost season. What a shame though. The division is so weak but sadly all three teams are better than us. We can’t even compete in a division where the leader is 4-7. How do we suck that bad? Why are we 0-4 against these garbage teams? The Saints looked one dimensional last night relying on Brees for everything yet we couldn’t beat those guys with an 11 point lead? The Falcons are soft soft soft and they swept us and kicked our ass on national television. The Panthers have n o offense what so ever and Derek Anderson outplayed Lovie’s hand picked guy qb. How? Why? I don’t get why or how we suck so bad that we can’t even compete in this sorry ass division. It’s truly pathetic. We shouldn’t be this bad. Another season wasting the talents of GMC93 and LD54. A beautiul season by rookie ME13 wasted. Sorry for ranting but seeing how easily The Ravens exploited the one dimensional play of The Saints just has me disgusted that we can’t so much as compete in this joke of a division.

Lavonte is a warrior. I sure hope he eventually gets some support other than from GMC and few others on a occasion.
Changing the subject, as Joe has said and practically anyone else who watches NFL football has said, this is a QB driven sport. As bad as the bucs look and are, put Brees in at QB and bucs are 7-3. Can’t win with a QB that is making awful mistakes along with having below average talent when he is not making a mistake. Glennon is not the answer of course. need to draft Mariota. End of story.

Schiano would’ve had them in first place. Think about that for a second.

Good decision, that’s that. LVD knew all along it would be a game time call.

We’re still in the race! We can do it!!

Think about Bucs Dominating the NFC South for years with Mariota / Winston.

7-9 might win this division. Schiano had a 7-9 record in his rookie season.

    And 4-12 the next season.

    Screw that jerk Schiano.
