“They Ate”

bears beat bucs

It was almost like two different games Sunday.

The Bucs thrashed the Bears and bratty Jay Cutler in the first half. In the second half? The Bears were wolves. Hungry wolves, in fact.

Bears safety Peanut Tillman, a Lovie Smith guy through and through, explained how Chicago coach Marc Trestman and defensive coordinator Mel Tucker went all “Coming to America” and lit into the Bears at halftime and unleashed the dogs.

To hear all of Tilman’s comments about what moved the Bears to devour the Bucs in the second half, watch this CSN Chicago video below.

Doesnt look like the Bucs had quite as good of a halftime pep talk to me as the bears did.

  2. Robert 9 Says:

meanwhile in the bucs locker room they put on their floppy hats, played some madden, had a hot fudge Sunday and talked of a division championship.

    WINNING!

Eric Page over 20% of punt returns went for more than 20 yards, had 2 over 40 including a 52 yarder. Only 2 Fumbles all year with 1 lost, that’s the Bucs the last 2 games. Replace Herron and Thigster with Page and get another player we need all the help we can get. No more Page posts for me, he must have dated Lovies daughter or something because this does not make sense, Joe always talked about how sure handed page was as a receiver and PR. No wonder the team has low moral to see players cut for less talented players.

Dumping Eric Page, or just another in a long line of examples of the exceptionally poor talent evaluation skills of the Lovie and Licht era.

our offensive coordinator never makes any adjustments at half time. the only thing he seems to do is stop running the ball in the second half. our offensive coordinator must go in at half time and check/send email and text messages instead of doing his job. at half time the other teams defensive coordinator is viewing photos and film of the bucs offensive formations and changing his game plan.

  6. Fort Myers Dave Says:

No adjustments at halftime for the Bucs? Figures. Back to back turnovers by McNown helped the Bears rip off 21 off of Tampa. Despite the short field the defense really needed to hold the Bears to a FG on those drives; that and the V-Jack fumble sealed the deal for the Bucs. There have been so many games this season where one or 2 turns of events in the game could have got the Bucs a W: Bears, Browns, Vikes, Saints, Rams, and Panthers. Just win half of these 6 and the Bucs are a near 0.500 club and likely contending for the NFC South, win 4, 5 or all the close games and the Bucs are actually have a winning record and are playoff bound though its likely they’d be slaughtered in the first round…. Just shows how little margin for error there is in most NFL games and the Bucs are too mistake/turnover prone, penalty ridden and badly coached to win only 1 of the 7 games decided by one score or less…. Joe’s arguement of the team quitting on plays is part of this problem; if Stocker blocked on special teams vs the Lambs they’d have won that game. If Banks focused a bit more on that one Bridgewater pass vs the Vikes and gets the pick; the Bucs win, etc. etc…. The Bucs and their lack of focus/discipline/quitting on plays have flushed the season…. Can we blame the coaching for this? Absolutely! However the players share in the blame, you have to wonder how important winning is to some of these guys and L&L need to ID the quitters and cut them loose…..

You clowns just lay in wait like hungry wolves for games like this. The Bucs may be losing right now, but guys that gloat over the team’s failures are the real losers.
Half time pep talks are also for losers as well. You clowns all have high school football mentalities and have seen “Rudy” too many times.
The only thing that happened in that game was our OL failed to pick up the stunts and McCown, as usual, coughed up the ball.
Here’s the good news for all you Bears fans. Your stuck with Cutler for 7 more years and we can dump McCown after this year. Also, Matt forte is getting a little long in the tooth and is overworked and used. Good luck in the future jerks.

  8. Buccfan37 Says:

This team has steadily moved backwards in respectability. Back to the past when losing to the Bucs was the ultimate embarrassment for any opponent. I imagine the whole shebang can be turned around before the year 2020. Most good things one has to wait for, so I hope to hang around until then.

  9. DWE Says:

Sorry, the bucs, and specifically McCown, devoured themselves.

Best and most intelligent post of the day. This team is one very good QB away from being no worse than 8-3. The defense is definitely coming around. The offense blows. That makes sense, Arroyo was terrible as an OC in college as well, the QB situation is poor at best (2 backups). All I want to see from this team is to continue to fight hard and grow while hopefully losing and getting us a premium draft pick.

  11. ddneast Says:

Thanks Brandon and you are absolutely right about our OC who has added to our problems. We don’t even need a very good QB to be at least .500 this year. We just need one who doesn’t turn the ball over at either end of the field.
I can forgive the first INT, but the fumble and INT deep in our own territory were just mind boggling.
In the last three games our defense appears to be jelling by clogging up passing lanes and putting pressure on the QB.
But the offense continues to sputter along in its simplistic predictability. When other teams tight ends have been chewing up huge chunks of yardage against the Bears, our TE’s were barely noticeable.
This lands at the feet of the OC who is terribly out of his league in this position.
