Tampa Bay Browns

tampa bay browns

In recent years, the model franchise for ineptitude has been the Cleveland Browns. A woebegone franchise with a rich history, the Browns have gone through coaches and general managers like Joe goes through 12-packs of Bud Light.

With new coaches and staffs, one thing (until this season) remains constant in northeast Ohio: losing.

With the exception of the Raiders, no franchise (until this season) has been more mocked than the once proud Browns.

So in a release by the Browns in advance of the Bucs game this Sunday, Joe found the following paragraph disturbing:

Notable Connections

Tampa Bay defensive line coach Joe Cullen (2013), tight ends coach Jon Embree (2013) and offensive line coach George Warhop (2009-13) were all on the Browns’ coaching staff last year.

Forgive Joe because he doesn’t keep up with the comings and goings of the Browns on a daily basis, but what was it about that team last year that made Lovie Smith decide to raid its coaching staff? A coaching staff that had been jettisoned, Joe might add.

That smells like a New Orleans gutter to Joe, just on face value.

Their entire coaching staff was fired. Warhop had 2 pro bowlers, Embree had one. Embree also coached Tony Gonzalez in KC. Cullen went nude through a Wendy’s drive-thru. While not beneficial to football, that’s pretty damn bad ass to me.

  2. Buctebow Says:

“Cullen went nude through a Wendy’s drive-thru” This gives me hope for the future.

    HawaiianBuc wins….game over.

  4. ddneast Says:

Joe, as I pointed out to many of the morons out here but shouldn’t have to, to you, Briian Hoyer had the Browns at 3-3 last year until he blew out his knee in a season ending injury on national TV.
Browns have a real all pro on OL and one at CB as well.y
We have posers except for McCoy.
One thing the Browns do have which are a lot better than what TB has are fans. Loval ones. They sell out their stadium every week and it is packed. Our fans don’t even buy tickets and whine about it if they can’t watch the game on TV.
A whole host of them post out here.

There’s a potential for a changing of the Factory of Sadness guard Sunday. If the Browns blow us out like Atlanta and Baltimore did, we are the new Factory of Sadness.

Unfortunately, i agree with this statement.

  7. CB Buc Says:

ddn: we all get it. You’re better than us because you can drive from Sarasota to go to the games.

How many times have you flew to road games?

As an out of state season ticket holder, I can guarantee you that I have spent more money on this team than you ever will

But your opinion is so much more valuable than ours

  8. lightningbuc Says:

    CB buc,

It’s not worth engaging ddneast in conversation. He was exposed today in an earlier thread for being nothing but a race baiter. Ignore him.

  9. INDYbucsfan Says:

I had tickets to this game and to the Chicago game. I sold them. F U bucs. It’s so sad expecting a loss against the browns.

  10. JonBuc Says:

These aren’t even lovable losers like Bad Buc tems of the mid 80’s-late 90’s. For the most part they’re a loathsome bunch..no more so than Lovie…what a stumble bum he’s become.

  11. OB Says:

    Joe

If anything, our crack coaches can coach the weaknesses of the Browns, the only problem I see is that we have bigger weaknesses.

Oh if we only knew what is really going on, we trade two starters at the beginning of the season and we are stronger, we have the coaches from losing teams, except for Hardy and maybe someone else, but we have nicer weather that almost anyone, plus Joe.

Can hardly wait till game time.

“If the Browns blow us out like Atlanta and Baltimore did, we are the new Factory of Sadness.”

With the Bucs in the category of teams like the Raiders and the Jaguars, They may already be their or very close…. The Bucs have already been beaten by way worse QBs than Brian Hoyer…

  13. Howard Cosell Says:

    Great detective work Joe.
The plot thickens then, doesn’t it?
How did the Bucs end up with 4
    employees of the factory-of-sadness?

  14. Zam Says:

Cullen hardly impressed at Jacksonville on d-line either. Jax was 32nd in sacks before he got there, but they ranked 25th, 30th, and 32nd again before they cut him loose.

Really, O-line and D-line are terrible, and often they look as though they don’t even have basic skills. Don’t you have to blame the position coaches a little bit for that?

  15. JJV Says:

The Tampa Bay Browns sounds good to me. If we could trade for any team in the NFL and give them our entire coaching staff it would make us relevant again. Because right now we are the worst team and laughingstock in the entire league. It’s as simple as that, Lovie.

  16. JMN Says:

Those coaches were very available and not for good reason. The Bucs have been the Browns of the south for years now. Sad times we are living as Bucs fans.

  17. buc4lyfe Says:

ddneast Says: We have posers except for McCoy.

McCoy has done what besides get a big contact? There’s only one player on offense or defense putting up probowl stats and it ain’t McCoy. He keeps playing like he is now McCoy will only get in off name recognition but I don’t see this production some speak of and no one in the media will even post his stats. They are weak and so is McCoy…… No one talks about vjacks broken limb because no one makes excuses for him and he doesn’t look for them even though with that Riff Raff we got behind center he has the best excuse

  18. ddneast Says:

Buc4lyfe u r right. Should have thrown in David, Evans and yes, even Vjax.
CB Buc u r also right and thank you for recognizing it. U r dismissed now.

  19. Cigar City Nole Says:

Your lost me at Bud Light … nasty AF

  20. ruggyup Says:

The current Bucs staff(top to bottom) and player personnel are flattered beyond belief or imagination when they are called “team” Better they should be just referred to as “the Bucs gathering”. When the HC surrounds himself with Browns Dog Pound you can’t expect much more than dog dirt on your fields.
