Jameis Watch: Showtime Tomorrow In Primetime

October 29th, 2014

JameisWith Tampa Bay having the worst record in the NFC and the NFL’s 32nd-ranked defense (yards allowed and points allowed), Joe’s already devoting attention to the NFL Draft.

And that brings Joe to the young coveted quarterback prize as the Bucs try to build a Super Bowl contender. Welcome to another edition of Jameis Watch.

Joe’s offering a daily nugget on crab-legs-stealing, BB-gun-shooting, obscenity-hollering, Heisman-Trophy-winning, national champion Jameis Winston, the pride of Florida State University.

Of course, football fans and Bucs fans are jacked up for a stunning Thursday night lineup tomorrow. Florida State heads to Louisville for what should be a heck of a clash. Young Jameis will face the No. 1 defense in the country.

At the same time, the Saints head to Carolina for a key NFC South clash. Hey, Lovie Smith believes the Bucs are in the hunt for a division title, so that’s a damn important game to the Tampa Bay faithful.

In the video below, Tallahassee Democrat writers Tom Block and Keith Jones dive into the key points.

I thought you weren’t going to talk about the draft until the season was over…

  2. Couch Fan Says:

Clearly Winston will be the new Jonny football this season. Prepare yourselves for endless Winston articles.

  3. Arealbucsfan Says:

I really dont get why ur so dam high on this kid. He’s got Jamarcus Russell written all over him

  4. RastaMon Says:

No doubt Jamis is the best QB talent…..big IF’s….’d like to think he can learn from his mistaes……but gezzo oh pezzo…with all that MONEY…..high risk …high reward….

  5. Coach Randy Says:

U mean high risk and no reward.

  6. Buc1987 Says:

    The next BIG thing!

I’ve got $2,500 for Bryan and Joel if I hear that name called off on draft day. Multiply that number times 30,000.

As Lovie would say. It’s as simple as that. You can not call the name off and I’ll sit home and watch our team suck again like I did this year. It’s as simple as that!

Call me bandwagon, call me what you will. I don’t care. That’s my ultimatum for the Glazers and I’m preparing a chain e-mail so that my fellow Noles can also voice their thoughts on the idea.

The more they lose the bigger the e-mail numbers will grow.

I won’t stop until draft day. Why? Because I care about my team THAT much!

If I get my way. Some day you dissenters and naysayers might come back to me to say thank you. No actually you’ll just be so happy to be winning it won’t even cross your minds who told you so way back when or who’s put together a massive e-mail drive to get this kid.

I’m talking 1000’s and 1000’s of e-mails. I won’t be defeated in my mission. Constant phone calls to One Buc every single day. Oh I’m on it, like Blue Bonnet people whether you like it or whether it even works. I’m doing it.

  7. Tom Edrington Says:

Why not just offer Cleveland a third-rounder for Johnny Football so Joe can live happily ever after?

  8. bbintampa Says:

    I would rather have Mariota!!!

  9. lions Says:

Not saying that Winston isn’t talented but, Mariota is more mobile, better arm and far better between the ears by a looooonnnng way.

  10. Matt B Says:

I was waiting for my daily dose of Mariota watch!

  11. Architek Says:

I will take it – tank to 15!!!

  12. Buc1987 Says:

You people want Mariota? Then I suggest you start your own e-mails and phone calls.

Trust me though I will get close to the 30,000 FSU fans behind me. I’ve done stuff like this before, not sports related though and it does have an effect.

    It’s as simple as that.

  13. Buccfan37 Says:

You forgot autograph selling, apparently a no no according to the NCAA. Swept also under the rug.

  14. RastaMon Says:

The franchise has its back against the wall…staggering…
    1 rnd OT
    2 rnd OG
    3 rnd C
    let the internet RAGE…..
    do the wise thing
even with those picks 2016 we’d still be picking top 15

  15. bucrightoff Says:

1987 is a worse liar than Lovie is. Pre-authorize the Bucs those 30,000 season tickets (meaning the second they draft Jameis, the money is gone….and just for fun, make it a 5 year commitment to show the Glazers how badly you want Jameis) and then the Glazers will do it. Otherwise? Lovie’s call, and as we know, if mattresses on the front lawn gets you shipped out, what chance does a sociopath have of being picked by Lovie?

  16. lurker Says:

have you guys even watched a mariota game? not highlights, but a game?
mariota sucked hard last year and is just ok, so far, this year. he sucked versus arizona. hundley is worse this year.

  17. bucrightoff Says:

But see 1987 the real movement is the trenchmob. By draft day it’ll be so overwhelmingly big the Bucs will spend their entire draft on O and D Line. And we’ll be on our way to being a consistent winner.

How very true. Look it does not matter who is the Tampa QB if they have to play behind the most putrid lines in the NFL. I thought things wouild improve with the housecleaning of last offseason but apparently the line has simply got worse! Christ even the Falcons with all the devastating injuries to their OL is in better shape and they’ve been starting Buc castoff Gabe Carimi; I’d be curious to know who has been helping L&L (Lovie and Licht) grade out their OL talent????

  24. WalkdaPlank Says:

    bucrightoff

I’m all for the trench mob but there is also FA to help the lines. Plus what happened to the O-linemen from last year’s draft? Have they even played? I vote QB first, then trench mob.

  25. Newbucsfan!!! Says:

They spewed negativity about Cam Newton and look at what he is to the Panthers/Carolina. They did the same garbage to Teddy B. and he is now the future of the Vikings franchise. Before he got hurt they said Luck was better than RG# mainly because of the size factor (and they may have been right on that one) and he almost took his team to the superbowl in his rookie year. They didn’t feel that McNabb had heart and could lead men and look what he did for the Eagles. The NFL big wigs thought Moon couldn’t play and no one other than Marino threw a better spiral. So keep talk’in about that young man from FSU because your heart belongs to Glennon, maybe you hate your team. Or maybe you hate your coach so much that you would rather see him fail with glennon or succeed with Winston. Either way all this hate is weird, hmmmm

  27. Buc1987 Says:

Joe just come clean with everyone on here and let them know just how much better you think Winston is than Manziel.

Draft someone from Oregon? How many Oregon fans are Buc fans?

Draft someone from FSU? How many FSU fans are Buc fans?

It’s as simple as that. It’s common sense people.

  28. WalkdaPlank Says:

    @newbucsfan

I think Winston compares most to Cam Newton. Both are mobile throwers, both got into trouble with the law and the NCAA, both won the Heisman and National Championship, and both acted like immature brats. But both are leaders. Cam has done just fine, won ROY and took his team to the playoffs last year.

You wanna compare him to JaMarcus Russell and Vince Young, calling him a future bust, go ahead. You can compare anybody to those two and call them a bust. But Cam and Jameis are similar to me.

  29. Lamarcus Says:

Well Bucs need attitude at offensive side. It depends what offensive coordinator we get. But FSU loses tomorrow Winston draft stock falls. I dont who we draft at Qb but we better get it right

  30. Buc1987 Says:

@Newbucsfan!!!…YES they did call Cam Newton the next Jamarcus Russell. They said he’d be a bust in the NFL. Winston’s dealing with the same shyte.

You want a more accurate QB than Cam Newton? This kid throws LASERS!

“And if he were here, he’d consume the NFL with fireballs from his eyes, and bolts of lightning from his arse.”

  31. StPeteBucsFan Says:

Buc87 Now your destroying your own arguments in a single comment.

First. Based on what evidence do you suppose the Bucs will fall to the 7th spot.

The only team ahead of us right now is the Raiders. The Jets and Jags are tied with us. USA Today is crazy. Let them tell us where the Bucs might possibly win ONE more game. Do we believe the Raiders will go all year without a single win. Perhaps we ambush N.O. here at home?

Seriously the Bucs have an excellent shot at the top choice. Anybody who wishes to dispute that please enlighten me. I have an open mind. Simply tell me which game left on our schedule is winnable for the sorry Bucs?

But the real absurdity in your post is if the Bucs pick 7th and Jamarcus…er Vince…er Jameis Winston is still on the board what happened to the other six teams? Oh several of them have already drafted “franchise” QB’s even though Johnny football can even get on the field…and the other team takes Mariotta.

If Jamarcus…er Vince er…Jameis is a generational once in a lifetime QB why wouldn’t somebody trade up or perhaps more importantly why wouldn’t the Titans take him at #3? Are you suggesting that the Raiders think Derek Carr is better?

Enjoy your 30,000 fellow Noles in RayJay next year. If the Bucs take that spoiled petulant little cement head they’ll never see me in the stadium until Jameis does a Jamarcus and we move on.

  32. Buccfan37 Says:

Yeah the draft could work out that way but how the hell do the Bucs fall all the way to the 7th pick and where are the Jets, Christ they are as bad as the Bucs and will probably go 1-15 just like them???? But for argument sake, I would say swap the Titans spot and the Bucs…. Then the question is which mob is happy at #3: the trench mob, the Marcus M mob or the FSU alumni association????? But say the Jets finish where I suspect they will; lets put them in the #4 slot where USA Today has the Bills/Flush em Down Browns and move the Bucs back to 7; then you have the chance of Winston going off of the board as the QB mess in Jetland is about as ****ed up as the Bucs situation, maybe even worse….

  34. Buc1987 Says:

Winston WON’T turn this team around though. It needs major help along the lines, both defensive and offensive.

What I’m saying is this team FINALLY….FINALLY after 35 plus years has a shot at getting a real true franchise QB and my family’s buying SEVEN…that’s 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Winston jerseys the day after the draft.

The team needs help in many areas but if we FINALLY have a chance to get one. We don’t let this one slip away. Take the chance. We’ve NEVER had one before.

The trenches can be fixed in later rounds and free agency. Not that I trust this crews evaluation process.

I’m not being biased when I say despite his immaturity off the field this kid was ready for the NFL last season. I know what I saw and I saw by week 3 of the college season. 5 weeks into the season I was on JBF boasting that no team is going to beat that Noles team and they would win the whole damn thing. Sure enough…

I think the Bucs are going to get first pick in the draft. I also don’t buy that mock draft by USA today or most mock drafts for that matter.

I only dropped it in the blog to show that there are others that are thinking like me and possibly the Glazers too.

Draft position will not matter, since I think they will be picking first. With that pick I’m counting on my FSU-Buc fans brethren to jam the phones and in box at One Buc to make this happen , regardless of what Lovie I screwed up so badly my first year Smith has to say on the matter.

  37. Stanglassman Says:

Did Jameis declare that he was foregoing his senior year and would be in next years draft?

  38. bucrightoff Says:

Jameis is already off Lovie’s draft board, so 1987 I’m gonna keep reiterating this, you need to be on the Fire Lovie Cartel before the Bucs can get Jameis. Simply math really:

Bucs + Lovie = No Jameis
    Bucs – Lovie = Possible
    Bucs – Lovie + Harbaugh = ????

  39. Buc1987 Says:

Buccfan37…NEVER NEVER call me a fair weather fan. You may as well just punch me and my mother in the face at the same time. Damn it that shyte pisses me off man.

Here’s the deal. When I was in junior high school and living in Massachusetts. I became a Canes fan. Because of Vinny. I moved to Florida in 1987 and was still a Canes fan until about 1991 when my older brother attended FSU. He bought our family season tickets and I got converted very quickly. I then attended FSU from 92-94 and pretty much flunked out. I partied pretty hard back then. It was the number 1 party college in the country in those days and I lived it.

    So that’s how I converted.

I’m not lying when I say Vinny T made me buy up tickets like crazy back in 1987, because I was a Canes fan.

The same will happen for Winston and ticket sales. Only MUCH better results on the field than Vinny put up. This kid just processes things very quickly. I can’t explain it, just watch him. I’m not biased at all when it comes to him. His immaturity and the rape “allegations” is crushing for me. Because without all that, I’d have much more people on my side. It would make my job in trying to force the Glazers to get him that much easier.

  40. Buc1987 Says:

I’m on a mission. Lovie has no say so in this matter too as far as I’m concerned. I have 30,000 or more FSU fans on my side. To hell with Lovie and his 2-14 season he’s going to put up.

NEVER had a franchise QB in Tampa. EVER!

  42. Buc1987 Says:

None of what the naysayers and dissenters have to say matters. The plan is already set in motion…

So be prepared to hear that name called off on draft day Buc fans and you’re welcome.

  43. Stanglassman Says:

If FSU wins the national championship this year I think he comes out but if they don’t he may want to stay and try again next year. So all Bucs fans who want him should root for FSU to win it all.

    —————–

Say what you want about Winston but to compare him to JaMarcus Russell shows you are very ignorant in both Winston and Russell,

#1 Russell didn’t win the starting job for LSU until his junior season. Winston started as a redshirt freshman.
#2 Russell’s team was stacked around him when he won the Natl Championship. Winston was clearly the best player on his team.
#3 Winston was the best player in college football last season. Russell was considered probably the 4th or 5th best player on offense for the Tigers that season.
#4 Russell showed up at the Combine at 265 lbs looking like a reject OG from the WFL, Winston has and most likely always will take good care of himself physically (crab is low in fat and high in protein)… if that were Russell, he would’ve been stealing Nyquil and a candy bar.

    ——————-

No, it’s just a lazy and convenient way to compare an athletic black QB to somebody that didn’t make it. Jameis Winston has almost no similarities to JaMarcus Russell…NONE. Russell was a caretaker in a pro-style, run first offense, that was absolutely loaded with studs (the modern Alabama QB’s MO). Winston is athletic, more athletic than Russell… but he relies on his smarts, his timing, accuracy, and knowledge of the game…. all Russell had was his physical ability (which was excellent) and terrible work ethic.

Russell failed out of the NFL because of his work ethic…there is no other reason. He was a lazy SOB that got paid and quit working. Winston shows no signs of being lazy on the field.

  50. Brandon Says:

I’ll take Mariota over Winston based on off-field concerns… but definitely Winston over Hundley, Cook, and Petty.

  51. mike h Says:

at least Russell wouldn’t steel the Nyquil and candy bar. Winston is a good qb but he is hung up on him self him plus nfl money I see more trouble!

  52. Buccfan37 Says:

1987… Everyone likes a winner, longtime losing is a real drag. I don’t really think you are a fair weather fan when it comes to the Bucs. You can like who you choose, college or pro, it does’nt bother me one bit. I just like to rag on Winston and you think he is the Bucs next QB. It really would’nt bother me if he is.

  53. WalkdaPlank Says:

    @buccfan37

Todd Gurley got suspended because he admitted to taking money for autographs, Johnny Manziel never had ANY evidence proving he took money for autographs, but was suspended anyway (a slap on the wrist compared to Gurley). Winston and FSU are clearly denying these allegations because Winston is still playing.

If FSU goes on to win the championship, and Winston wins the Heisman again, they will both be stripped away by the NCAA if he is found to have taken money for autographs. Gurley was accused during the season, and Georgia are the ones that suspended him from this same fear of being punished. Manziel’s case was during the offseason.

FSU is basically giving these allegations the finger by playing Winston, they don’t have to sit him. It was not “swept under the rug”. My guess is it is all hogwash.

  54. ruggyup Says:

Lovie is delusional! Winston, as much as I lack respect for the person, I would never, repeat never, wish him the curse of being drafted by the Bucs.

  55. sharkcoasttactical.com Says:

I couldn’t tell ya what will happen..I dont see us winning another game..If we dont win another game then how do we keep Lovie?…I’m sick of firing coaches and starting over..BUT GOSH DAMMIT MAN, have we not learned we need a franchise QB? I mean people really? Trench Mob? Have we not learned anything yet? No one is going to the games people! WE NEED A FRANCHISE QB!! If they dont do something we are in big trouble. TRENCH MOB? Are y’all outta ya GD MINDS??

  56. WalkdaPlank Says:

I don’t give a damn what Lovie’s opinion is on Jaemis, let the Billionaire Glazer Boys MAKE HIM pick that dude!

How many shot will we get at a Top 2 Pick & a Franchise QB??? Every other pick should go to the trenches (OL & DL)

Lets roll the dice on this ignorant but talented ass QB!!!

    Make it Happen Glazers!!!

  59. Fort Myers Dave Says:

    WalkDaPlank said:

I think both Winston and Mariota would have trouble behind the Bucs poor excuse for a line. ^^^

Yeah man, any qb would have trouble behind this OL. So if the Bucs get their franchise QB with the #1 overall (or top 3 or 4 pick) how will they address the OL? Sure, they could get a decent G or C with their second round pick and maybe even their 3rd, especially if they can trade back into the 2nd round but the tackle position is especially hard to fill via the draft unless you go after a Joe Thomas type of player with your first rounder. The Bucs could go after help via free agency but after this past offseason can we really trust L&L to make competent signings??? Truth is that the Bucs have many holes and not enough draft picks to fill the needs, last season they drafted a WR, TE and RB on days one and 2 on the draft; so far none have contributed to any wins but a couple of losses (Evans in the Lamb game and ASJ last Sunday with Sims yet to play a down)…. We can talk all we want about Mariota or Winston but neither will help if they are simply butchered by opposing defenses next year so how do we reinforce the trenches and get a qb, that is the big question?!?!?!?

  60. The Ether Says:

    @Joes,

How about a 2015 Draft Order Watch??

We should be 4th right now, but it looks like the Jets are sitting out Geno! I just became an instant Jets fan!!!

“This team has NEVER had a franchise QB. N E VER!”

That’s not true. They’ve had multiple “franchise quarterbacks”. Just none were good ones.

A franchise qb is any qb drafted to be a long term starter. Its the invesstment that makes him a franchise qb.

  63. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Too soon to think about the draft. Any of these college QBs could blow by the time the draft comes.

Heck, Winston migght be in jail by then.

  64. The Ether Says:

“I am in favor of getting Winston, but will be fine with Glennon as long as the O-line is addressed as priority #1, besides an OC.”

If we settle with Glennon, then EVERY olineman we draft will have to be a home-run pick… And with L&Ls talent evaluation, thats not gonna happen…

If Lovie doesnt sign off on taking Winston, then you Know that he’s the right pick!

But at the end of this season, I see a shift in power between Lovie & Licht… Those defensive FA pickups, and McCown, were ALL Lovie’s picks… And so far theyre all BUSTS… If Licht was in charge of that draft, and Sims pans out, then Licht will takeover by 2015…

  65. Buc1987 Says:

Glennon, new o-line or whatever won’t sell tickets after this shyte storm of a season. That’s my money in the bank to get Winston.

All of them won’t sell tickets and merchandise. Winston will. End of story.

  66. mike h Says:

@1987 u must work for the glazers we need a head coach and a lot of players. and most of all wins! fuc. the ticket sales. one qb is not going to be a savior. for this team ! good luck in the draft when u make ur pick.

I have a Cowboys, Steelers, Bears jersey and jacket in my family and would instantly get a tampa bay buc jersey if the bucs drafted Winston. But man I just think that L&L will pick a DE or something and I am a fan of Lovie Smith. If the bucs owners don’t make them draft Winston it will not happen so count me in to call the owners.

  73. mike h Says:

we had a couple of decent qbs through th years but either owners sucked or changed coaches.no one wanted to stay or go to bucs remember steve young ring a bell!

  74. Newbucsfan!!! Says:

I bet the bucs win 3 meaningless games before the season ends to take them out of the top 5 which will make L&L happy because Winston will probably be off the board for them. Then when the bucs o-line goes from terrible to decent and the defense improves significantly but the bucs still lose because they can’t score every MGM’er will want Lovie fired and say he did not do glennon any favors, watch!

  75. Buc1987 Says:

Buccaneer Bonzai…DON’T just say that’s not true…and then not follow up with some names man. Give some names. Steve Young? Well they never did get to see that come to fruition now did they?

Doug Williams? Same thing as Young. Plus Williams was a one hit wonder with the Skins… after the SB he sucked. I saw A Football Life on NFL Network. I know the Doug Williams story.

Since your going to go there…..then allow me to retort.

This team has NEVER had a franchise QB playing for them for a long period of time. NEVER!

Winston and FSU could lose to the best defense in college football tomorrow night and nothing will change my opinion of what I’ve seen from this kid. Nothing. The kid has ice in his veins. He creates all these off field distractions and it doesn’t faze him a bit on the field. On the field I see a leader that Freeman or any other Bucs QB in recent memory could only dream of having.
There is that “IT” factor. If it’s there then you take a chance on the kid no matter what. I can go on for days about why I want this kid based on his skills alone. Instead I’m willing to gamble that the Glazers will hear the e-mails of the 30,000 FSU fans. It could be more by the time I’m done.

Sigh….the only problem that I have with Winston is that immaturity factor. I said I’m not a biased Noles fan and I mean it. I don’t comprehend how he could get into one mess after another since the rape allegations. That’s what makes me and I’m sure millions of other people question if he’s guilty or not in that matter. Like I said people I’m not biased and I sure ain’t stupid. I’ve read just about everything there has to do with this kid and his off the field stuff. I know what’s happened.

My honest opinion of why I think Jameis Winston does what he does outside of the rape case is because he’s just a kid. I’m serious too. I was the most immature 20 year old kid, you could imagine. At 16 I hung out with 14 year olds. Hell at 21 I was hanging out with 18 year olds, buying them beer and smoking dope. There ARE certain grown men that will always act immature.
My grandfather was one of the most immature people I’ve ever met, but he was a VERY successful businessman.

I think Winston can’t help himself. YES he does stupid immature things, but on gameday he’s money. He puts that all aside. The proof is in the pudding. It’s a pudding that every Buc fan will gobble up for the next 10 years. It’s tough to explain how he does it all, but he does and it works for him.

LOOK even if they lose tomorrow night and you’re the biggest dissenter of Winston for whatever reason. Just watch him. Watch the game. He’s had MILLIONS of people rooting against him for what he’s done off the field. Yet he comes out, does his job and wins. That will make people hate him even more. They WANT him to fail, but it doesn’t happen. I want Tom Brady to fail too, but it never happens. I hate that guy and his sissy ways. I grew up in N.E. too.
Some Buc fans have an AFC team that they root for. I grew up in Mass and hate the Pats with a passion, because of Tom Brady, so I get it with Winston.

I’ll say it again. They don’t come around that often. When they do, the Bucs are never in position to grab one. This season they have a shot if they keep losing.

I know the kid is a handful, but come Sunday he WILL be money. Whether it’s with the Bucs remains to be seen, but I’m diong what I can to make it happen. It NEEDS to happen. I’ve waited TOO long for a franchise QB and this is it. The time is now!

  76. Buc1987 Says:

Newbucsfan!!!…then they better trade up at all cost!

  77. mike h Says:

we don’t even have coaching to help any qb. who our OC/ qb coach. lol good luck with that

  78. Buc1987 Says:

HOW MANY EFFING TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY THIS FOR PEOPLE LIKE MIKE H TO UNDERSTAND?

Winston IS NOT A QUICK FIX or a savior. This team needs LOTS of help. I’m saying once AGAIN, they have a chance to get a real QB for once. A real one. For the first time in 35 years.

Damn it you people don’t get it do you?

The team needs o-line help. Okay I get you on that. WORK ON THAT IN 2016 FOR GAWD’S SAKE.

Work on the O-line next draft and the draft after that, don’t draft Winston or any QB. Maybe we will be LUCKY in 2017 or 2018 to land a franchise QB. My bet is we won’t.

  79. Buc1987 Says:

mike h…do you REALLY think Arroyo will be the OC next season? Apparently so.

    In case you’re wondering….I don’t.

  80. feelthepewterpower Says:

Winston also wants to play professional baseball. The jets will likely take another qb in the first round, and could be ahead of us in the pecking order.

  81. feelthepewterpower Says:

Work on the O-line next draft and the draft after that, don’t draft Winston or any QB. Maybe we will be LUCKY in 2017 or 2018 to land a franchise QB. My bet is we won’t.

    —————————————————–

You can get oline help in later rounds. If you’re going to go line, you want to go d’line studs earlier as they’re are typically less available throughout with that type of talent. Otherwise you take a qb first round IF you think he can be a franchise qb then build around him. Remember Donald Penn was undrafted, Zuttah as a mid to later round pick, etc. etc.

  82. Buc1987 Says:

Long time Buc fans know what I’m talking about when I say. This team has never had a franchise QB ( good QB) for a long period of time. Never been that lucky.

The time is now. It’s there for the taking Buc fans. I know where some of you are coming from with the off the field stuff, believe me on this. I don’t just look the other way because I’m a Noles fan.

I’ve known how good he is since week 3 of LAST season and discussed it with other fans in Ray Jay LAST season. Most them gushed at the thought of it all and then quickly dismissed it as the Bucs would never be so lucky.

Well guess what? We might be so lucky this year. It’s here and the time is now.

LOL@Couch Fan making references about Joe and Manziel last season. If I recall Joe didn’t start talking about Johnny Football until after the season last year. I could be wrong though, correct me if I am Joe.

Joe is talking about “Jamies Watch” this early for a reason you dolts. Because Jameis is THAT good and he’s FSU. He gets it. People say it drives hits to the site. If that’s so then Joe is a very smart man to start the “watch” this early in the season. Jameis is better than Johnny and Joe knows it. He also knows that it will drive people like me crazy. It will also drive the ones that despise him crazy. He will deny it and say “Joe writes what Joe wants to write about”.

Then let me say this Joe. Joe writes about what Joe thinks will pique the interest of fellow Buc fans and what will get them clicking on the site.

  83. Buc1987 Says:

Like I said I can ramble all night long on Winston. If it was a perfect world, he’d have no off field troubles at all.

JUST THE FACT THAT HE CAUSES ALL THIS OFF FIELD TROUBLE FOR HIMSELF. THEN GOES OUT THERE ON SATURDAYS AND PERFORMS AT A HIGH LEVEL AS IF NOTHING IS GOING ON OFF THE FIELD, TELLS ME HE WON’T BE A BUST.

That was all caps so you know I mean that shyte.

THIS KID HAS ICE IN HIS VEINS. Have the Bucs ever had a QB like that?

  84. mike h Says:

I understand about arroyo yo yo but he may stay on as qb coach and any rookie qb needs a good foundation to succeed. we don’t have that write now. not for a long time! if we pick the kid and they start him he will try and carry the team on his back like rg3 and u will see . just my opinion.

  85. Buc1987 Says:

mike h…he’s not a scrambler like RG3…he’s a drop back passer that processes things very quickly. Just watch them game tomorrow night. They might lose, but just watch Winston. Pay attention just to him.

  86. mike h Says:

ya man good idea I think I will.

  87. Buc1987 Says:

I have not seen anything like this kid SINCE Manning in college. That’s the Peyton one too. I’m not saying he’s Peyton good. Manning got better IN THE NFL as the years went along. Having an NFL QB pedigree father certainly helped him as well.

I’m saying he reads things on the field as good as Manning did in college, sometimes even better. For that I’m willing to take a chance on him.

He will never be a Peyton Manning. I will however go so far as to say he MIGHT be as good as Tom Brady.

LOOK just watch the KID play. I caps the word KID for a reason. He is a kid that’s very immature, but it never shows up on the field.

There is a reason why the NFL allows the team with the worst record to get the highest pick in the draft season after season. That reason is for QB’s like Winston. They are special and they don’t come around often.

    The time is NOW!

  88. mike h Says:

good night buc fans god bless!

  89. cmurda Says:

I fixed it for you 87….

    USA Today Mock Draft

    1. Buccaneers
    Jameis Winston, QB Florida State

    2. Jaguars
    Randy Gregory, DE Nebraska

    3. Raiders
    Leonard Williams, DT USC

    4. Titans
    Marcus Mariota, QB Oregon

    5. Browns (from BUF)
    Brandon Scherff, OT Iowa

    6. Vikings
    Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, CB Oregon

    7. Redskins
    Landon Collins, S Alabama

  90. Buc1987 Says:

Again I say…FSU might lose tomorrow…but it won’t be because of Winston. Hell if he looks great against the top ranked D in college then that only solidifies my position.

Just watch him play. He’s got that “IT” factor.

I never thought the Bucs would ever be in a spot to get a REAL QB. I know the team has many other needs. I know Winston’s not a savior. I’m not a fool.

I just FINALLY see a chance to get a real QB for the first time in 35 years and I don’t want to see it slip away just because the team has other pressing needs at the moment.

Hell suck in 2015 for all I care. Just get us our QB for ONCE!

  91. Buc1987 Says:

Okay I’m done….I feel better now. Everyone have a good night!

For you believers (including Joe) I’m going to do whatever I can to steer this team in the right direction come draft day.

When Joe was talking Manziel last season left and right on here occasionally I would mention that Johnny was not the best QB in college and that, that rank belonged to Jameis Winston. I knew it last season, not much has changed.

  92. Buc1987 Says:

cmurda ….thanks for that! Ha ha ha

  93. Newbucsfan!!! Says:

    Agree, get Winston!!!!!!!

  94. Buc1987 Says:

Damn it I wanted out of here, it’s late.

I have expected this kid to fail. Like I said I’m not biased. I watch a lot of college football. I can get away with the words TON of college football.

    This kid as “IT”.

I just want to make that clear to my fellow Buc fans. I’ve expected this kid to fail, but he keeps blowing up those expectations with dynamite every time he takes the field. ICE in HIS veins.

Now stop talking to me already, even though it may seem I’m talking to myself. I’m tired and it’s late. My wife has heard enough about Winston and the Bucs that I might need a divorce lawyer soon…lol

I mean it good night JBF! 🙂

  95. Jerry Says:

Because of his history, the minute ANY woman makes an accusation against him, the NFL will throw him out faster than Ray Rice.

Do you trust he can stay away from the women (and the crab legs at Publix)? I don’t.

  96. Patrick in VA Says:

@87 – it sounds like you’re teetering on the edge a bit bro. It’s a long time til the draft. You’re going to give yourself a stroke at this pace

  97. Todd Says:

Joe get over it Glennon and mccown are lovies guys next season! Lovie will draft a de or oline. No way bucs pick Winston

  98. Todd Says:

Don’t be surprised when the bucs pass on a qb in round one again

  99. BoJim Says:

    Newbucsfan!!! Said:
your heart belongs to Glennon, maybe you hate your team. Or maybe you hate your coach so much that you would rather see him fail with glennon or succeed with Winston. Either way all this hate is weird, hmmmm
    __________________________________________________________

Yeah so why don’t you stop already?

  100. bucrightoff Says:

The fact 87 says Winston is ahead of Luck tells you why we should ignore him. Only the most homerist of FSU homers would take Winston over Luck, and that’s before you even consider the off the field stuff.

I think 87 is gonna get himself blocked if he keeps up the insanity. Scariest part is he’s gushing over an alleged rapist, clear sociopath.

  101. Buccfan37 Says:

WalkdaPlank… I read where a dealer of autographs had a large amount of Winston autographs that he said were authentic. Shhhh, here’s the payoff. All you FSU fans, the guy can do no wrong.

  102. Skyline Crew Says:

    Mariotta or Prescott.

  103. Buccfan37 Says:

Now all the puzzle pieces are fitting together revealing a troubling conclusion. When John Thrasher was named president of FSU, over many more qualified applicants who were ignored, the Winston fix was in. This longtime GOP political operative was a done deal before the process ever began. Everybody knows it. This crony and his connections will cover up and ignore any Winston misbehavior. Talk about powerful people in high places, Thrasher is that person. Truth and justice never had a chance.

  104. Skyline Crew Says:

Cleveland Browns Brandon Scherff OT Iowa
New York Jets Jameis Winston QB Florida St.
Minnesota Vikings Randy Gregory DE Nebraska
Cleveland Browns Devin Funchess, WR Michigan
Washington Redskins Andrus Peat OT Stanford
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Leonard Williams DE/DT Southern Cal

As it appears from all of these mock drafts. Mariotta has been the 1st QB off the board. When Mariotta goes before the Bucs pick we have been taking Winston, but when Mariotta hasn’t been taken we are getting Mariotta. Obviously everyone has viewed Mariotta as the best QB on the board.

  105. WalkdaPlank Says:

Again, it’s not about FSU. If they had any belief that Winston took money, they would sit him because they could get punished by the NCAA and have to forfeit all the wins he played in. It’s the NCAA that will investigate, are they part of your conspiracy theory too?

And I’m not an FSU fan.

  106. Buccfan37 Says:

Of course the NCAA is involved in the coverup. Do you think they are above reproach? Money talks and BS walks, Winston’s antics are the BS. The NCAA could’nt be greedier, how is that working out for NCAA players who should be payed?

  107. bucrightoff Says:

lol taking Armari Cooper? Christ that would be such a Bucs move.

  108. bucrightoff Says:

And forfeit wins? Lol who cares? USC’s titles are gone but does anyone think they didn’t win the title? Due to the NCAA being itself and insanely corrupt and backwards, no one takes them seriously. Vacated wins and titles? Pffft. Now if they had to give all the money back (plus interest, plus a penalty fee) that they made off a title? Different story then.

  109. WalkdaPlank Says:

Yeah, the NCAA is full of fat greedy pigs, that’s nothing new. They suspended Heisman frontrunner Todd Gurley for 4 games, knocking him out of the race, you think they won’t do the same to Winston who will probably not win it this year? The NCAA is determined to make as much money as possible off players without them getting a dime. I’m sure if Jameis was found “robbing” a couple hundred bucks off the NCAA for making money off his own name, the NCAA would bring the axe down on his ass too.

  110. WalkdaPlank Says:

Oh and it’s not just wins and titles stripped, it’s future postseason contention and amount of athletic scholarship allowed to hand out to recruits. But who cares, right? That’s nothing to them.

  111. Buccfan37 Says:

Thrasher has more pull than you could ever imagine.

  112. Skyline Crew Says:

Let’s get the Throwin Samoan and call it a day.
