Formula Over Football

October 23rd, 2014

Minnesota will play its second consecutive road game on Sunday in Tampa, and the Bucs are coming off a bye week.

The Vegas-type numbers crunchers will tell you that’s a big advantage for the good guys. But does that really apply this weekend?

Prickly Pete Prisco and former Jets personnel chief and linebackers coach Pat Kirwan think so. In the video breakdown of the Vikings-Bucs game below, both pick the Bucs to win, though Kirwan is very harsh on Tampa Bay. He even asserts that a prominent Bucs potential free agent has a lot of money on the line with his performance.

Prisco thinks the Bucs’ pass defense should be a soothing sight for the often-rattled rookie Teddy Bridgewater, but not enough to overcome the Bucs’ on-paper odds.

Vikings veteran receiver Greg Jennings however, thinks Bridgewater will overcome because he’s so darn cool, so he told FOX Sports North.

“He’s the model of consistency, literally,” receiver Greg Jennings said. “Probably in the dictionary when you look at consistency and poise, Teddy Bridgewater’s name or his initials is somewhere around there.”

Sadly the horrid start will negate any home field advantage. How long before fans start showing up with the paper bags and begin to taunt the Bucs at every opportunity?

If it’s a really hot afternoon and Minnesota is in the dark jerseys we could perhaps get a little edge, but OTOH the hotter it gets even fewer fans will show up.

Who wants to get roasted watching two horrible football teams. Let’s face it if you want to see decent football this season ya gotta drive to Tallahassee. I’m no Noles fan but gotta give props where they are due. UF…USF…UCF..Miami not any more entertaining than the Buckeroos…the Noles are the only show in the state right now.

Visiting team in dark jerseys didn’t seem to help us against the Ravens, stpete.
I keep hearing about this dark jersey mythical theme. It’s as overrated as home cooking.
