McCown Returns

McCownReturns

Heeeee’s back!

The former Bucs starting quarterback, who never officially was named a backup by Lovie Smith, was back on the practice field this afternoon for the first time since injuring his thumb in Atlanta on Sept. 18.

McCown completed his first 10 passes of the session of practice open to media. McCown sure looked healthy. His healing throwing thumb had white tape on it.

Lovie Smith addresses the media at 3 p.m. Hopefully, this time Lovie will expect questions about who will start at QB on Sunday.

    Season saved!!!!!!

Lol… No not really… He sucks donkey balls… Worse then the ineffective Glennon…

  2. JonBuc Says:

    MGM collectively sighs…

  3. WalkdaPlank Says:

Thank GOD!! He’s so much better than that pencil-necked Mike Glennon who has been losing us games singlehandedly. Our season is SAVED!

  4. Another J Says:

While you were reading this article, Josh McCown fumbled, and threw 2 picks…

  5. rayray1 Says:

Stubborn Lovie goes back to McCown.

  6. BucFanInArkansas Says:

Over the last four games, our vaunted “Cover Who?” defense is giving up an AVERAGE of 41+ points per game. I doesn’t matter if we start Opie, McClown, or “Steamin” Willie Beamen… we’re not gonna keep up with our opponents scoring at will.

Against who….no one? Or the Bucs Defense? LOL

We kept hearing how great he looked preseason….so please

  8. Arealbucsfan Says:

Get ready for more blow outs!

    LOL – good one!

  11. BoJim Says:

Let Glennon play out the season. Then we’ll know what position to draft. Season is gone anyway.

  12. Skyline Crew Says:

Backup vs backup who will win? Bucs or Min

  13. tmaxcon Says:

    skyline

since the bucs are already 0-2 against backups it’s safe to say who is the underdog.

cover who – funniest thing that I have read in a while. Very Nice!

    ^^^LOL!

McClown is back! Do your happy dance. Whether its Melman or McClown makes no significant difference at this point in terms of wins, so we may as well see if Melman can improve the remainder of the year. I quess, if we wanted the best draft pick, we could sit both of them and put in Kafka.

I wish mccown well if he is the starter. he will probably be running for his nfl life. save glennon for next year. why let glennon get a ruptured spleen like chris sims had getting sacked/shoved down repeatedly in one game when gruden was coach.

  17. Adrian Says:

Those are some nice shorts ngl. Where can I get it?

  18. Buc1987 Says:

Put him and tanketh for Jameth. No harm, no foul Lovie. I’ll understand.

The Bucs will be drafting a qb next year. The only question is whether Glennon or Mckown will be leaving. My guess is Mckown becuase of the contract. To be fair to Glennon the offense game plan on Sunday wasn’t very good nor flexible. So that was a major part of the issue. But with that said I wanted to see how he looked against a good defense. I think the answer to that question is evident. Doesn’t get any easier next week as Cleveland has as good or better defense than Bal. I think the result will be the same

    Please no Jameth….
This franchise doesn’t need anyone else to embarrass it, they’re doing that quiet nicely on their own…

  22. JonBuc Says:

No worries…Lovie will never select a QB with a top 5 pick….just McCoy’s replacement of Michael Johnson’s other flimsy bookend.

  23. sam Says:

I might be the only one here, but im kind of glad hes back. Not a fan of Glennon, he missed a lot of open plays.

  24. Robert 9 Says:

please start him and trade glennon. this season is doomed……..I just need one good reason to say the hell with the bucs altogether.

that would just about do it.

  25. Grizim2222E.Buffalo Says:

    Sorry about the double post

  26. D-Rome Says:

    “Josh is the starter.”

  27. mac Says:

I am torn… Jamies Winston is by far the best QB (talent wise) to enter the draft this next year… However I just can’t cheer for that dueche bag… Jesus FSU fans how do you do it? Is a championship worth making a “deal with the devil”…

Who am I kidding… Of course it is… Remember Chucky?

  28. Andrew Says:

Mccown starting would be too much for me to bear. Lovie, if you start him, I have 3 words for you: Let’s Go Lightning! (Thank god one team in this area does not suck)

  29. Buccfan37 Says:

I just consulted my magic 8 ball, asking it if Jameis will land with the Bucs. The ball responded with only if the Bucs join the NPL, the National Prison League. This ball is usuallly on the money. McCown starting this week against the Vikes, good luck if it happens. I wouldn’t put it past Snuffy going with the QB by committee approach.

  30. TheBucMan Says:

If McClown plays we are doomed its another loss on the list Lovie is messing up again just trade him off get rid of the Garbage

  31. Jim Walker Says:

Can we just resign the season and take the first pick?

  32. TAC Says:

“McCown completed his first 10 passes of the session of practice open to media.”

Backup QB torching the secondary again? No surprise there.

  33. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

I like the idea of trading Glennon. Won’t get more than a 6th rounder though.

  34. nate Says:

    Mccown just needs hgh!

  35. IK Says:

I’d say go with Kafka before throwing McCown back in there. Who knows, maybe he will become a legit starter like Hoyer.

  36. NJBucsFan Says:

His head is too big for his hat
