“This Isn’t College Football”

October 17th, 2014

ShaunKing

The chorus of former Buccaneers appalled by their team’s performance has reached a new crescendo.

One of three quarterbacks to lead the Bucs to the NFC title game, Shaun King of NBC Sports Network, says the Bucs have a Division 1-AA pasty feel about them.

The multiple blowouts early in in this season has King down.

“I think the disturbing part for me is this isn’t college football. So very rarely does that happen,” King said on WDAE-AM 620 yesterday. “And to think that we’ve been beating by 30+ twice already in the first [six] weeks, that’s pretty alarming for me. It shows me that the Bucs don’t have a problem. They have multiple problems.

King was a huge critic of the vision and plans of Greg Schiano and former rockstar general manager Mark Dominik. King says the Bucs are terrible now, too, but there’s a difference.

“I think everybody gets an “F,” if you’re going to be fair and objective. I think the difference is I have confidence Lovie can get it fixed,” King said. “I think the Bucs have two major problems: none of their stars are playing like stars .. and they have six guys starting that should be on a team’s practice squad. And they’re playing they should be on the team’s practice squad.”

King’s confidence in Lovie is an interesting point. Last week, an exclusive JoeBucsFan.com poll revealed 60 percent of fans were anywhere from “confident” to “totally confident” in Lovie. Joe’s going to run that poll again in the next couple of days. Will the results change?

Yes the results will change to 99% lost all confidence. (1%=Hawaii n bucstop)

Fun facts glennon has thrown more tds in 16 games than king threw in 4 years.

LVD is playing lights out, superstar football every week. McDonald is holding that line together best he can with gholston.

Best game in buc history (not sb) was the mnf games vs Rams in 2000? Ray jay was rocking that night. 2 heavyweight champions were on the field battling. Best game ever. Bucs wins 38-35.

  2. Louis Friend Says:

So who are the 6 guys starting who should be on the practice squad?

    RG (take your pick)
    And???

  3. Buc1987 Says:

Our defense is on pace to set records it’s that bad. Yet some still have hope that Lovie will fix the defense THIS season. Some are even confident of it. I don’t know how they can be….Unless they are one of those “Dungy did the same thing in his first season” type of fans and there is many on these boards that think that way.

Optimistic maybe…Naive is what it really is.

  4. Buc1987 Says:

“Fun facts Glennon has thrown more tds in 16 games than king threw in 4 years. ”

    DB…that’s hilarious!

  5. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I’m not going to poke fun at Shaun King’s weight like other fans…..calling him “Burger King”…..even stooping so low as to calling him a slob, fat boy, chunky, dough boy, and all those other hateful names….I just can’t stoop so low to do that.

But what I will say is this:

“Shaun King, one of two Buc Quarterbacks that lost a NFC Championship Game when his defense gave up 11 or fewer points.”

  6. DB55 Says:

How many Buccaneers does it take to change a flat tire? One, unless it’s a blow-out, in which case they all show up.

  7. Touch_Down_Tampa_Bay Says:

“Will the results change?” Joe ask.

It depends how sober the voters are…

    In Lovie I TRUST!!!

  8. lightningbuc Says:

    db55,

Speaking of bucstop, aka ‘the optimist”, I wonder if he will blame last Sunday’s beat down on the fans?

  9. Dennis Says:

The reason I have little confidence in Lovie is because I saw what he did with the team in Chicago. The years he had a good defense was while Rivera and marinelli were defense coordinators. Frazier has never really been a dominant defensive coordinator and right now he’s running lovie’s defense (not his style). If Marinelli doesn’t become coordinator next year, I see this team to struggle on defense again.

  10. DB55 Says:

What does Gerald McCoy and a chick-fil-a manager have in common? Neither one shows up to work on Sundays.

    Awesome!!!

  12. DB55 Says:

    Lightning

    Of course he will.

  13. Buccfan37 Says:

DB55… both the flat tire blowout joke and the chick fil a joke were good ones. A bit of comedy always helps to diffuse the anger.

Saw the vid. The more things change the more they stay the same.

‘Cause it’s friday, you ain’t got no job, you ain’t got sh*t to do.

  15. billy buckaroo Says:

We had a mess before Lovie got here.
That was what he was supposed to fix, not a new one.

  16. NewTampaChris Says:

We’ve got to stop the changes. We finally hired a coach with a resume. There isn’t anyone out there with a better resume, right now. No guarantee that he’ll fix it but he’s got the experience.

If he would just stop listening to James Taylor music on those headphones during the games….

  17. Ray Rice Says:

Professor Klump just needs to shut up and stop riding Lovies DIK! Every former player does it. He should be treated the same way Schiano was treated for losing. At least Schiano had our stars David and Mccoy playing AP ball. It gave me a reason to watch the game. These two were playing great ball. They have all regressed with Lovie.

  18. DB55 Says:

    @ray

    Prof Klump. Rotf lmao

  19. richardtyson Says:

I agree with King on this. He is right to be critical of Dominic. Dominic is a complete waste of life and a fool.

  20. BoJiim Says:

I see 1987 is back to his negativity as usual.

  21. OneLove Says:

lol Shaun King doesn’t have the right to criticize anyone the way he played!! I mean Shaun King criticizing another football player is almost as bad as all the so called “Know it Alls” that post on this forum thinking they know what the hell they’re talking about!! lmao

  22. Hawk Says:

    @ DB55
Actually, when it’s a ‘blowout’, NONE of them seem to showing up. :^)

  23. Hawk Says:

And WE are ‘tired’ of no change.

  24. buctebow Says:

Don’t have the Bucs fix your car. The wheels will come off….

  25. Tye Says:

It seems that every year since Gruden got fired, The fans have been getting fed 1 liners every year:

    “I have confidence Lovie can get it fixed” {will likely be the 1 that we continue to be fed right up until he gets shipped out from here!}

  26. NewTampaChris Says:

King is right. You don’t turn on an NFL game and expect to see FSU vs Eastern North Dakota State.

  27. Andrew 1 Says:

Ok so according to King we have “6 guys starting who should be on the practice”. We can assume that 1 of them is in the secondary, in fact with the injuries make that 2 guys in the secondary. Where he’s getting the other 4, I have no idea. I don’t expect him to have the courage to name them either.

  28. TAC Says:

Stephen White has a breakdown out, and what a read it is, lol.

Won’t link it, but hopefully Joe finds it interesting.

LOL, a quote from Steve, who is just as pissed off as the rest here.

“The one thing I can assure you of is you will never have to wonder about whether I am biased in favor of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

I wholeheartedly am with every fiber of my being.”

  29. Andrew 1 Says:

Check that, also Lansanah at LB and the left DE. That’s 4 by my count, would be interested to know the other 2 King.

  30. Buc1987 Says:

lol BoJiim….I can be the most positive person on the planet. I actually always look for something good first before the bad. I just don’t see anything good right now at all.

    Praise is earned.

  31. Buc1987 Says:

BoJiim…I’ve got 2. Lavonte David is still playing lights out, and Barron is coming along.

  32. port richey george Says:

I expect the buc season ticket holders will be standing outside the stadium before game time selling their tickets at half price in the weeks to come.
this happened in the past at the old stadium during the creamsicle jersey/winking pirate years pre tony dungy. if they continue along the path they have chosen the coaching staff will be replaced. why? who would want to spend the $dollars to $ park and $ see the game if they keep the staff that is in place.
I will not be a season ticket holder in the future if the crappy play continues. be patient? its going to take time? excuses excuses..
    sounds like bs to me.

  33. Andrew 1 Says:

    @ TAC

Excellent stuff from Mr. White. Thank you for pointing him out. A guy playing cover 3 when he should have been in man, terrible gap integrity in the running game, just great stuff from Mr. White. I encourage anyone who wants to know exactly how we screwed up to give it a read.

  34. Buc1987 Says:

    port richey george Says:

“who would want to spend the $dollars to $ park and $ see the game if they keep the staff that is in place.”

I did all that last season. I drove from Port Richey to Tampa too. So you forgot to throw in the extra $15 in gas I had to pay to get back and forth. The first 2 games I took the Veterans too so there was toll money as well. Then I said the hell with the tolls and went Gunn Hwy.

Even if you have season tickets like I had…it’s still not cheap to go to game. I still went last season, because like I said before, if I thought Schiano’s team quit on him. I would have stayed home. Lovie’s team may not have quit on him, but I would not pay to watch this garbage this season at all.

    15 in gas
    15 in parking
10 for a 12 pack of beer to tailgate
16 for 2 beers in RayJay 32 for 4 beers
    15-20 in food

Your talking $75+ for just 2 people for one game. If you have more than 2 people the price is higher.

And for what Lovie-ball? You might has well take $75 and throw into the trash, it would be more fun to do that, then watch what they’re putting out on the field every week.

  35. DB55 Says:

Saw this, thought it was awesome!!!!

Steve Smith explains why he’s done with Twitter
Steve Smith is done with trolls on Twitter. He’s done with Twitter, period. “Internet courage is like a cover-2 corner. You got a safety over the top and you feel better about yourself.”

No need for baseless name calling.–Joe

  37. MTM Says:

King sounds as disgusted as the majority of the Bucs fan base. The team plays with little to no passion. This team needs a spark to get them going in the right direction! The next time McCoy helps up a player from the opposing team LVD needs to push him back down. Set a tone dammit!

  38. Buc1987 Says:

@MTM …ha ha ha ha push him back down.

  39. buctebow Says:

“This Isn’t College Football” You could have fooled me.

  40. Quick66 Says:

@Buc1987 If the 2 of you are downing 18 beers I’m stayin off Gunn hwy!

  41. Lamarcus Says:

King gets an F for being a bust when he played. Second round Qb? what a joke. Y y y King u couldn’t beat Dilfer outof his job. So what do u know? U couldn’t put up a touchdown pass vs the Rams when our D stalled them for 11 points. So what do u know? What a bust

  42. Lamarcus Says:

King y u pulled a racist card cuz u wasn’t sign to a new team in 2008 ? Im a black guy myself and that was a division 1-aaa move on ur part rather than hard work like a real man. I had my shot too. But when I wasn’t good enough it was nuff said!!! Joke=King

  43. Incognito Says:

Wasn’t king on Arizonas practice squad after tampa?
