Bucs Return To The Practice Field

October 14th, 2014

GoldsonOh, the drama of a post-bludgeoning practice before the bye-week break.

Yes, the Bucs were back on the soggy grass of One Buc Palace this afternoon.

There was good energy during the first 30 minutes, which is open to media.

Joe noted dropped passes from Jorvorskie Lane and Solomon Patton, and silky hands from Mike Evans and new practice squad member Eric Page.

Guys not wearing a helmet included Vincent Jackson, Dashon Goldson, Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Keith Tandy and Anthony Collins.

The Bucs practice again tomorrow before getting their four-day, bye-week vacation. Joe would say they earned it, but lets’ not get carried away.

Joe…You mean to tell us these guys actually practice? What exactly do they practice?
The correct way to put on their Ronald McDonald looking uniforms?

  2. Buc1987 Says:

This team has been on vacation since week 1. What difference does it make now? Give them 3,4,6,7 days off, either way same results. Glennon probably needs to rest all his black and blues as it is.

  3. DallasBuc Says:

Joe- were they practicing any pride, dignity, toughness or accountability drills?

  4. jb Says:

Glennon’s about the only one on this team earning his pay. It was so obvious that our defense wasn’t able to keep up Sunday. Many a play I saw db’s just standing there or running like they had concrete in their diapers. This is possibly the slowest defensive backfield in the league, which is the exact opposite of what we were told by L&L all offseason.

I told(yelled) the fans in the section I was sitting in on opening day. “I’ll see you all in about 3 years, because that’s how long it’s going to take for this team to be any good”. I then left my seat and made my way out to the parking lot in the 3rd qrtr.

Once in my car, I thought about what I said to all the season ticket holders in that section, and hoped I was wrong. It was only week 1. I felt bad for those fans, because I was one of them last season. Stuck.

  6. RastaMon Says:

Buc87…I too was at the opening game,as a long time ST holder, silly me I was so excited walking into the game. I was so disappointed in what I saw. This is what I posted after Lovies Monday blah..blah..blah…
anf then hearing #55 speak on Tuesday
Lovie is in WAY over his head….I listened to his press conference yesterday and was underwhemled by his monotoned empty words…then by chance I listened to a long interview with #55 on all sorts of subject…a stark contrast in leadership and answering questions. Lovie is an empty suit that has been swept to this point in life by his association with the greatness of others. I don’t mean to be harsh…but that is what I see……

  7. Robert 9 Says:

practice….lol as other have said…..these guys practice?

what do they practice how to make the other team look good?

  8. Ray Rice Says:

Practice????? Really??? Come on JOE im not falling for that $hit again. Its bad enough I believed Lovie. Now you are starting with the same $hit.

  9. NewTampaChris Says:

I just read PFT. How bad is it when the CLEVELAND BROWNS look at us like we’ll be an easy win for them?

    Go Lightning!

  10. DallasBuc Says:

At this point you cannot be shocked if Cleveland beats us bad. They are playing good football, we are not. Facts.

    Ouch. Truth bombs are painful.

  12. Charlie Crist Says:

Thanks for the support Joe! Go Bucs and remember to vote in November!

  13. RastaMon Says:

Most will be in Costa Rica…Cancun….Bahamas tonight…drowning their sorrows…OH…wait…these guys don’t feel sorrow….

  14. DB55 Says:

Breaking news: bucs sign Eric Lagrange to take over Michael Johnson position DE. Apparently the bucs feel as though the player at that position needs wheels and a motor which mj does not have.

  15. RastaMon Says:

What is the over /under on Buc players getting arrested with 4 days off…

  16. DallasBuc Says:

RastaMon- I don’t think you can get arrested just for getting your ass beat every time you go out!

  17. Jason Says:

    Joe,
Was there a Charles Simms sighting during practice? Thanks for all the work you do, appreciate it!

I’m probably not supposed to laugh at that but…LMAO!

  19. Buc1987 Says:

Jason…I think I saw him standing on the roof at One Buc Place hollering out like Mighty Mouse. “Hear I come to save the day!”

Hey Joe I have a better question than Jason.

Was there any real football player sightings during practice?

  20. Jason Says:

    @Buc1987

LOL you laugh, but I feel like that’s what Lovie is waiting for, with his continued “commitment” to Martin & Rainey. Sims is his boy in his first draft here, so we’ll see how well THAT goes.

  21. Buc1987 Says:

Jason I hope he wears his cape…

  22. Jason Says:

And brings a better blocking scheme and maybe a couple of O-linemen with him 😉

  23. OB Says:

    Joe

Did anyone check the DBs playing Sunday for colorblindness? Maybe they could not see them since they were so open or could it be they were told to play at a certain spot and that is where they staid?

Inquiring minds want to know this, also when does GMC’s cast come off and he is playing two handed again?

Not sure when the cast is scheduled to come off.

Thanks for making me spit my drink onto the keyboard. Lol

  26. Brandon Says:

Practice? We talking about practice? PLAYOFFS!!!

  27. Buccfan37 Says:

RastaMon… “Lovie is an empty suit that has been swept to this point in life by his association with the greatness of others.” That’s funny, every single time I read it, Kudos for the persistence of thought.

  28. pick6 Says:

interesting that both times the bucs have had a long break waiting after a game (thursday night game and sunday’s pre-bye week game), they decided to not bother showing up to the game itself.

  29. owlykat Says:

Sure the Browns are playing good football now. They lost two of their worst linemen to us and are probably still laughing about that. Most importantly, they don’t have Warhop as their OL Coach anymore; no wonder they are doing so well now. But the Browns just prove that a real bad team can become a winner in a hurry when they get the right combination of Coaches and new players. Look at the great turn around of the Dallas Cowboys! So that should give us hope. Licht is a terrible failure in his appraisal of who to hire in Free Agency. Remember that the OC for the Ravens was considered a bad HC by the owners of the Houston team, so they let him go. Look how well Houston has turned things around. With a new personnel director and some Coach changes and a good draft, and perhaps a new OC, we could be just like the New Browns.

  30. Architek Says:

Lmbo the apathy analogies are priceless – this team have really soured people and will have a difficult time convincing fans next year will be any different.

  31. Willie D Says:

Eric Page Silky hands Patton dropped pass lets get rid of page and keep florida guy. I have a sneaky suspicion that Glennon requested Page. They played a lot together last year in practice.
