Vincent Jackson raved about the work ethic and preparation of Mike Glennon yesterday, saying it was clear from the day Glennon took over as starter last year that the young man had the right look in his eyes and was prepared.
V-Drops V-Jax has experience around driven quarterbacks.
Already a Pro Bowl star for the Chargers, Brees was the QB there when Jackson was drafted by San Diego in 2005.
Yesterday, Jackson shared a story from those days, while talking about what a fierce competitor the Bucs will face Sunday in New Orleans.
“I remember being a rookie, [Brees] used to line me up in different places on the field and close his eyes, you know, after practice, and take drops and try to hit me, you know, with his eyes closed,” Jackson said. “He’s just one of those guys who never wants to see a ball hit the ground.”
Yes, Drew Brees is a certain Hall of Famer, but he’s beatable. And, as Jackson pointed out, he’ll take plenty of risks. Somehow, some way, the Bucs secondary likely will have to find a way to squeeze their first interception of the season in order to win on Sunday.

Take away Jimmy Graham and its a new ball game for Brees
Let Jimmy Graham catch 1 ball than DRIVE him into the ground “butkus style”
Send the message that if he comes across the middle he better be ready for some intense stuff

And who do we have on this team with the ability to take jimmy Graham away. Bucs lost 2 games they should have won, one game unbelievable bad and win one game by three points…… Just listen to the talk in Tampa now. If it was so easy to take away jimmy Graham he wouldn’t be who he was. Talib did it but he wasn’t a buc when it happened. Bucs fans are so easy to please, half of our fans will be happy to say ever year that a few more pieces…. Were almost there, it’s kind of sickening. They haven’t stopped one single right end this year

Last week has given this Lovie-era pessimist a renewed sense of optimism. Hope they can be physical and find a way to win. If Glennon can push the ball down the field like he did last week we have a legitimate shot. Go Bucs

As long as Glennon is playing I’m confident we won’t turn the ball over every possession, which gives us a fighting chance. It will suck not having our rookie WR out there (why did we release Williams again?).

The Saints have won 5 straight against the Bucs and are every tough to beat at home. They are hungry at 1-3. Throw in the 41-0 beat down from last season.
That being said, the Bucs are due. I won’t predict anymore wins or losses for this team this season. I also won’t predict that my team will get trashed like they did in Atlanta. I don’t see that happening again this season, but of course it could.

I gave the Bucs little hope of beating the Steelers in Pittsburgh last week (in fact only small glimmer for me was because Glennon was starting), but after that win anything is possible. It’ll likely come down to a shoot out which favors the Saints…still gonna ride the Glennon momentum and say the game stays close enough for the Bucs to win

Until his wrist heals VJax might stay Vdrops for a while. He drops passes ordinarily, but it seems like right now each reception he makes isn’t a clean catch. Even the game winner last week was a double clutch. He’s not going to get fewer targets with Evans out, so hopefully it’ll be less of a problem this week.

I think rumors of the Saints demise are completely exaggerated, but their red zone offense in the last game was rotten. 5 trips inside the 20 only netted 17 points. If they get that fixed they’ll pretty much be right where they were in 2012 – great offense and lousy defense. Brees is going to get his yards, but the Bucs need to hold them in the red zone just like the Cowboys did. That to me is the key to the game, if Glennon is going to have a shot to outscore them.

The secondary will need to send a message early to any receiver who goes across the middle. Just no head hunting and they should stay out of trouble. The Buc players need to stop with all the Brees praise. Put Brees on his ass the rest will take care of itself!!

That is pretty amazing for Drew Brees to drop back and try to hit a WR with his eyes closed. Just for shiz and giggles, wonder how many he completed. This game is going to come down to how much pressure we get on Brees, just like last week vs the Steelers. And just like last week, all this fan is looking for is improvement form the Atlanta game. And if we should so happen to get a win, then that’s great. But like of been saying, it’s going to take time to really see this defense at it’s best.

I wont go into how pathetic I think so many Buc “fans” are….but I will say there’s no happier Buc than VJ since QB change, other than maybe Louis Murphy. Jax had a very good season last year with Glennon throwing the ball down the field, and I bet his production takes a big step up with Glennon throwing the ball. The picture of VJ walking with MG says a lot. IMO, many underestimate the respect Glennon has earned from his teammates. They saw a young kid come in and play his ass off, under the worst circumstances, and never back down. They’ve seen the team’s own “fans” and media ridicule, disparage, and criticize his every move. They saw how Lovie tried to force feed McCown and his “leadership” down their throats….problem is, McCown puckered up when the lights came on, and Glennon didn’t. This team knows who their Qb is.
